I've heard numerous renditions of "Palan laagi" but - and I've no hesitation whatsoever in admitting that this one stands out. The 7-minute aalap sets a poignant tone of what's to come - a serene, dhrupadi interpretation of Kalavati the likes of which are extremely rare to come by. As a child I had heard "Kalavati r ekta awdbhut modira aachhe" ... it sways and swings the soul. It's an incredible feeling to experience that "modira" in a way so solemn and dignified. Herein lies the quintessence of the "new you" - crisp, compact, controlled - balancing the cheery with the serious with innate free flowing grace. Footnote: aamar shomosto "Chholona jaani"-r uchchhaash aatke aachhe 1983 te, Nana Ronger Gaan-e. Chirojiboner moto. But that said, this recital does indeed stand out super-strong on its myriad merits. Regards, love and God-bless
The "reverb" is too high and hence, an extensive "humming" of the entire rendition is being perceived which in turn degenerates its audible quality and thus, its imotional status.
