I have been interested in color analysis and kibbe for years, and never found someone who focused on black women. I've been enjoying binge watching your videos. I have a question for the Q&A. Any tips for neutral/olives trying to find rhwir season? I find that my best color is green, all the way from neon or emerald, and I find that as long as other colors are saturated I can pull them off. This leaves me confused if I'm a clear spring or a dark autumn, or somewhere in between. Any hints?
If you are able to wear neons, I would lean towards Clear Spring, and then add the more saturated colors from the Dark Autumn palette. Since you are neutral, you can also try to incorporate a few cool colors, but don’t go for the extremely icy tones
Great attempt. Will be checking out dark winter & autumn hopefully i can settle on the right palette. I thought i was spring at one point & winter at a time before that 😂. I've been checking out the cool summer contents because the colors that seem to suit me best are muted. The best hair colors are either jet black (have to be careful with this its highly dependent on the style) or understated brown.
Hi Mica, I love your videos. I'm really lost and have been for too long. I have mixed ethnic skin. I'm half first nation Australian and half white. I've got the cursed 'olive skin tone'. Is it possible you could talk about olive skin tone? Thank you so much for all your videos! They have taught me a lot and are really well made.
For suggestions, how about putting a request to your subscribers or those the clients you’ve worked with (with permission of course!) if they are happy to send in images to be used as examples? It may be good to have real life examples to see a difference?
I definitely think I fit into the soft summer category. I have deep skin and a muted cool neutral undertone. I could send some examples if you want! I feel like it took me a while to figure it out since there aren't many out there
Does anyone have any suggestion for lip colours and makeup that would look flatter flr soft summers? It's a struggle finding a good lip colour because if it's too dark it looks odd on me while colours too light look like concealer.
I´m a soft summer (light olive skin, brown hair) and colors like mauve, dusty rose and antique rose are nice for a fresh make up during the day. And if you want to go for a more bold color, berry.
@@charitadeknegt6661 I'm quite tanned as well so most mauve shades don't look as good on me unfortunately. I have however seen dusty rose on people who have the same skin shade as me. I should try dusty rose soon. Thank you for the suggestion.
I’m not sure I got a good understanding on what color I should wear or not. I like your videos tho. I have a tan warm color that can go into neutral tones. I feel like I look good in brown colors but i can’t do Greys.
no, because they would still be moderately cool in hue, rather than very cool like a true summer. soft summer and dark winter are very similar in hue, the difference is that soft summer is medium in value and very muted, while dark winter is very dark in value and slightly bright
A lot of these women aren't even dark-skinned... and the few that are their names aren't shown so we can search them up to get more inspiration... Great video tho cause apart from this there's nothing else showcasing what colours we can be
It’s really hard to find black women with cool undertones (that have a muted complexion) because we got sold the idea that we should be warm and only wear dark or bright colors😞 I do have more examples on my Pinterest, unfortunately since I don’t know their names I couldn’t look for them to use them for more than one example
Why use a picture of Zoe Kravitz as your thumbnail in a video about dark skin... The shades that would favour her vs the shades that would favour me (I.e. A dark skinned black woman) are completely different.
Yes! The intensity of the colors will vary depending on the individuals color dimensions. But I did use Zoe mainly because it is really hard to find pictures of Soft Summers that are on the darker side of the dark skin spectrum. Soft Summers and Light Summers are the rarest types among darker skin. And the second reason is because I’ve been getting a few questions about Zoe’s type.
@@cocoastyling the questions about Zoe's type don't matter. That is not a dark skin woman. you can use fivver to pay someone to make or even illustrate the very image of a dark skin woman that you need. Dark skin girls deserve better effort than this.
Did the thumbnail prevent you from watching the content of what this video was about? I mean if you have watched this video in its entirety or any of the videos in Micah’s playlist, you would realise the focus is on the undertone of a person of colour and not just on the skin tone. This is what is used to determine the season she is analysing, hence why Zoe is used as an example. It’s not as though she hasn’t used a person with a darker complexion as a cover or have you not seen her other thumbnails or something?
@@StarlightSparkleRoblox Real people and drawings are completely different. And it would be really odd for it to be the only video with drawings, implying that they are fictional people I have more examples on Pinterest, but like I said, a lot of black people tend to warm up their pictures. That being the reason why I paused the series, it really takes months to find pictures of muted dark skinned people, if you have suggestions please post them. I do agree with dark skinned people deserving efforts. But it is really insulting for you to say that I don’t work hard when it took me years to develop a system that worked for POC, and as far as I know I’m the only person that focuses solely on anyone that isn’t caucasian
Well, thumbnails that to be horizontal, and not only does it take months to find pictures of muted skinned people when we get told that we should look sunny. My system focuses on darker skinned people of all ranges, but it does specialize on black women because I am one. Just because one or two of my many videos has someone that would be considered light skin by our standard but dark on some others doesn’t change the purpose of the channel.
Soft summer here, analyzed by a color professional. Was waiting a long time for this video!
Where’d you go to get analyzed?

Did you do a video for soft summer where you go through the colors like you did the other seasons?

I’m not sure I got a good understanding on what color I should wear or not.
I like your videos tho. I have a tan warm color that can go into neutral tones. I feel like I look good in brown colors but i can’t do Greys.
If Grey doesn’t look good, then you are probably warm.
Maybe you should try Soft Autumn colors!
I am a cool summer/true summer but you don't seem to have this palette in your system. What equivalent should I use?
I would go in between
Using the more saturated colors from the Soft Summer palette and the more muted colors from the Light Summer palette
at 11:10 who are the ladies in the 1st and 3rd boxes? I know the 2nd is adella afadi but idk the other 2.
Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you, I was searching everywhere for examples and I found their pictures but not their names
@@cocoastyling Okay thank you.
Can soft summers wear red ? If so which shades of red can they wear?
It has to be a gray based red, such as a burgundy
Please make a video on Olive undertones (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Coming soon!

I always learned that summers can’t have dark eyes or hair, So this is confusing.
Unfortunately most color analyses don’t cater to POC😞
But just having dark eyes doesn’t always mean that you won’t look great in muted colors
@@cocoastyling I ust figured you would use black people with naturally light eyes and brown-light hair because their coloring is blended, but touche
Wouldn't a soft summer with dark winter influence be a true summer?
no, because they would still be moderately cool in hue, rather than very cool like a true summer. soft summer and dark winter are very similar in hue, the difference is that soft summer is medium in value and very muted, while dark winter is very dark in value and slightly bright
