With Drew vs Punk the angle js interesting because it's a tweener vs anti-hero. And fans gets to decide who they want to side with
With Punk vs Seth is not much of a deal. By default most fans are behind Punk, since Seth's gimmick is holding him back, Seth needs some more time off and needs to be back with new character.

Dave needs a reality check or to check the personal feelings about Punk at the door. Seth's issue should be with the ref for not counting 3. Punk never laid a hand on him and did nothing to cost him the match. His interference actually gave Seth time to get back in the ring. Seth needs someone to blame for falling short and "hatred" for Punk is the excuse. Keeping Seth in this feud with Drew and Punk isn't going to do anything. They need to find another way to keep Seth busy until Drew Vs Punk is settled

Drew is a psycho, and Punk has every right to RUIN this man now.
Not only that, ultimately robbing Punk of any opportunity at a WrestleMania main event, which is what Punk wants most. Everything after is "consequences."

Thing is, is that people get pissed at Punk for being absolutely unhinged when he comes to saying things, I mean let's face it, he punked Taker out (no pun intended) for being told "You have to dress a certain way and act a certain way" when Punk was told to wear a suit, then Punk turned around and said "Well what about John (Cena)? He doesn't wear suits, he wears those stupid jorts and tshirts!".
A lot of people forget that Punk knows he's a grade a prick and he doesn't care, and I think that really puts it into perspective when he literally is a heel or face, and like I said, love him or hate him, there is NEVER going to be another CM Punk when he's done with his WWE run.

Think back to exactly one year ago. What was Drew McIntyre doing?
NOTHING.
He was teaming with a stoner who got fired, he was getting his ass kicked by Gunther for the IC title, and he was whining about Jey Uso being on Raw. Nobody cared about him. He was so far away from the world title he might as well have been on Mars.
The moment Punk entered the picture and began feuding with McIntyre, Drew suddenly became the hottest heel in the business. He got a world title off of it that he wasn’t supposed to get. He got his moment in front of fans…for 5 minutes. 😂 He got a big money new contract. And he won Money in the Bank, another accolade. All of that is because he is feuding with one of the biggest megastars in the industry.
That’s the CM Punk effect: he makes whoever he is working with better than they usually are.

Ah I disagree with Dave's take. Punk hit Drew with the title. It wasn't Punk's fault that Seth wasn't in the ring to cover him. And just like Seth has been hypocritical in the past in his promos against Drew that made the fans side with Drew, it was the same with last night's promo. When he said the world doesn't revolve around CM Punk, afterwards he proceeds to talk about how important the world title is to him, not caring about Punk's beef with Drew, disregarding the fact that Drew has made it even more personal than it already was when he took Punk's bracelet. I took it as "I don't care or respect you standing up for your family and handling your business like a man (as Seth would do the same) I just care about the title. That in my opinion opens Seth up for Punk to say the same back to him "Seth, I don't care about your ambition, I got a personal beef to handle with Drew, the world doesn't revolve around Seth Rollins!". As far as Punk being an a hole, Seth wasn't too kind to him from the beginning either so I think him saying "because it's you I can't really be that sorry can I?" is justified.
Exactly. I guarantee that if it was Becky and Rue that Drew was talking about or threatening to visit, Seth would’ve been tearing every inch of the arena apart looking for Drew so he could MURDER him.
Yet when it’s Punk’s wife AJ Lee and their dog, HIS family, being threatened, Seth just goes “Not my problem because I hate you”? 😂 Doesn’t work like that. If someone went after my family like that, I would actually pay them a visit at their home. The Rollins/Punk/McIntyre stuff is just classic red-meat "who wants to go watch a fight?" booking. I think some people care very much who wins, but I think most people just really like to watch them scrap and are curious about what happens next.
Also, Punk's character from inception was antagonistic, talked trash with deep cutting insults, and a maverick/rebel energy - arrogant. His physical presentation has been mostly the same way - aggressive. You can book him as a face, heel, whatever - but hes not changing his character. The only thing that ever made Punk a face/heel was who he was antagonizing. 🤷 Thats why he is loved/hated - because he is easy to love/hate. You love that guy if hes fighting with you, but hate him if he's on the other side. Shawn Michaels had that energy too.

Didn't hear anybody chanting for Rollins or singing his song like they sometimes do, but Punk was getting cheered and chanted for. I just watched a clip here on UA-cam to verify. The only part where the fans cheered while Rollins was talking was when he was threatening Punk, which was not a cheer for Rollins, but was a cheer at the idea of them facing each other potentially soon. Otherwise, it was pretty quiet for Rollins in comparison to Punk.

Fans that love Punk do so because he himself and his character are very real and probably the most relatable wrestler ever besides Sami zayn. Everything he does is logical human reactions as well as human mistakes. To quote Punk in a 2011 promo: “Am I a bad guy? Absolutely, I don’t wear a white hat. But I damn sure am in touch with these people”

When you can relate to people, they will identify with you. And for many people (who aren’t delusional dorks like Dave or internet trolls) Punk hits home with them. Guys like Punk, Sami, and Daniel Bryan are relatable and can just connect with you.

Are you serious with these reactions, hosts? 😅 Anyway, you should all be proud of how Phil Brooks has elevated this feud. The little things like the sly smile, sitting on the announcers’ table… he legitimately makes you think that McIntyre, Seth, and even Wade Barrett all hate him. In fact, they might really do! But there’s suspension of disbelief, and that’s why Punk has always been appreciated, even by the best of the best, like Bret, Austin, Rock, Taker, etc.
Triple H has the confidence that he can be an absolute d-bag with a single focus of screwing Drew, yet still be beloved by fans. He stays true to his character and makes you love to hate him. He’s egotistical yet he’s the truest person in that locker room, and millions of people live vicariously through him. He’s the modern equivalent of Stone Cold, not in physique or bad-assery (though he’s still MMA-trained no matter how bad you think he is), but in the IDGAF-yet-people-still-love-me aspect. Triple H himself said it in the MITB post-show, he applauds Punk for his great work. That’s what we should all do. 🤷🏻♂️

Not like Seth should be THAT mad. Drew was going to win if Punk didn’t interfere. It’s not his fault that Priest was in a better position when Drew was made vulnerable.
This feud is perfect for Punk and Drew. Drew is slightly more heel, but not fully. Punk is slightly more babyface but not really. This is a personal feud, and they get to take good shots at each other without worrying about “sounding” like a babyface. If Punk stopped talking like that, it would feel disingenuous, and it’s his “real” feeling that resonates so much.
Also, why would Punk legitimately apologize and leave it at that? Who wants them to be friends and not bitter rivals? That would have been terrible if he didn’t include the “but”. He doesn’t like Seth, Seth doesn’t like him. Plain and simple.

The point is that Punk would apologize to (almost) anyone else, but since he and Seth don’t like each other, he can’t be that sorry that Seth didn’t win. Also, without Punk’s interference, Drew would have won anyway, so I don’t know what Rollins is crying about. He was lying outside the ring when the end happened. He was nowhere near a pinfall.
Punk is real and never pretends to be anyone else. Not many people can say that.
Punk has had one singles match on a screen in a year, and there are three weeks until Summerslam. How much can you count on Punk to either be ready (or in shape) for then? Considering his injury history? How many programs can you build without actually wrestling.

I’m wondering that, too. Hearing Dave talk sometimes is like I’m listening to someone who isn’t very bright. But it has to be a work, because if he really is this stupid, I don’t think Mark or Bully would work with him, as they’re pretty sharp guys.

I believe the fans and I myself love CM Punk because he has the rarity quality that he is the original one. CM Punk when you look at him when he started was the guy who should have never made it. He was scrawny, not muscular, and the odd guy out of everyone in the WWE. However, he was truthful, was passionate and believed in himself. He paved the road for guys like Seth Rollins to have the opportunity and be where he is at today. This is the problem with Seth and has always been, he still looks lost. He still doesn’t have the identity like a CM Punk has, a John Cena had, a rock or even an LA Knight has. When you understand yourself, people get you and rather it’s right or wrong, people will hear and listen to you. I think the fans hear and listen to Punk. However fans are just hearing Seth and letting it in one ear and out the other without fully listening to what he says and means.
That's why he has to resort to dressing like an idiot. It gets him the attention. He'll never be on the level of Punk and he like plenty of other guys wouldn't have even had the opportunity WWE presented him with had Punk failed when he first came to work there. Like it or not it's undeniable that many guys on there roster are there in large part to Punk being the success that he is and changing the way those in the company looked at guys

People are picking Punk right now because the WWE fans look at Punk as a victim of AEW. Then when he came back and it's the Punk people want to see, he gets hurt. Which makes him a bigger victim. If/when he gets healthy and wrestles more frequently, fans will see him in a different light. Until then, the only exposure he's had in the ring has been being a victim.
To answer the question of what Drew did to make Punk so mad is simply. He hurt him at Rumble, and he mocked Punk on Raw and said he prayed that Punk gets hurt. Keep in mind, this story pre dates Punks return. Plus, remember Drew stormed out when Punks music hit for his return. This seems as personal as it will get(obviously as a work)
