@@jaymon64anabel53 now the real question is, would we even be able to finish the game if we had the brutes from halo 2 and jackal snipers from halo2 in Reach as well? 0_o
That burgundy colored Field Marshal (FM) is actually the closest thing you get to a main antagonist within Halo Reach since he appears three times in the game to thwart Noble team when it counts. The first is Winter Contingency where the FM and his Zealots sabatoge the relay station in order to keep Reach unaware of the Covenant invasion and as well as to secure sensitive information about the Forerunners. The second time the FM appears is at the end of New Alexandria where he uses a sniper to kill Kat. I think it's worth noting that the FM could've killed any member of Noble team at that moment, but chose Kat out of all of them and likely not by accident since he also tried to kill Kat back in Winter Contingency with his energy sword. This is probably becuase the FM knew she had the classified data he was looking for at first and that she knew it's contents so he decided to silence her. The third and last time we see him is at the Mass Driver cannon where the FM and his Zealots kill Emile and neutralize the Pillar of Autumn's air cover. This is their last chance to prevent the humans from escaping with whatever they managed to escavate from the Forerunner ruins beneath sword base and they're not taking chances. But aside from that great sound track!
They could have made a whole game about them the ending couldve been that part where 6 kills all them imagine you get that point of view from an elite the same way reach ended
Considering how he was a recurring enemy throughout the campaign, I think the Field Marshall should have at least had a line acknowledging Six in English when you fight him in the end. Six has killed several of his zealots at that point, and the Marshall personally killed Kat, his zealots got Emile, and now he's finally face to face with the last Demon on Reach. If any nameless elite deserved to be given some lore, it should have been him.
Or even just something in Sangheili, imagine how cool it would be with them face to face in a grapple or something and it growls out something along the lines of "Die, Demon." in Sangheili tongue.
I never really noticed that the Zealot music plays consistently when fighting them. And on top of that, its the same Field Marshal leading them each time. Thats Bungie's level of detail.
The best part of this game, for me, was executing the field marshal on the last level, he was the zealot with funky armor and a fuel rod cannon, as its believed he was the one that killed Kat and pretty much caused everything.
To expand upon this idea, I imagine it’s specifically broadcasts of their own being sent to the rest of the Covenant forces >>Encountered Demons at Relay Station >>One contact captured, advancing to junction >>Warn Long Night of Solace, continue as authorized >>Permission to pursue Demons? >>Negative Sentry-X, destroy junction, remain in shade. >>Demons within junction, unable to destroy junction >>The Great Journey remains >>The Great Journey remains… >>Avenge us, brother.
But the Zealot that killed both kat and noble 6 at the end of lone wolf that was Jul madama and later did the devoted sentries would later become become the didact hand thought the events in halo 4
bungine did everything so great, I swear to fucking god if Disney somehow gets there grubby hands on the halo franchise I will nuke any headquarters that has any resemblance to disney
