At first glance I knew that is a main capacitor failure

Yeah, it kinda looks like that. Don't know if there's a way to repair it

For me it is, I have had repaired anything on nes, I turned one Nintendo into test board by putting every chi (Ic) into zif sip socket, so I can swap/test chips quickly I also installed hi-def kits as well as rgb modifications
