The art direction in this game is incredible - that shot @7:12 !! The artist for this game went on to design the Boktai games on GBA which are stunning as well.
It really is a top tier art direction! And I’d never heard of the Boktai series but from the footage I saw the imagery in the games is excellent as well. I’ll have to check them out someday!
The elevator scenes in this are much better than the one GBC game I played as a kid that had elevators - 007 The World is Not Enough. Definitely interested to see what you think of that game once you play it. I never much cared for it as a kid, but maybe I just sucked at it! 😅
It’s crazy how little things like elevator scenes can stick with people! And I haven’t played World is Not Enough but I’ll go ahead and add it to the upcoming queue!
I find it funny that this version is called Metal Gear Solid, as the “Solid” wasn’t just referring to Solid Snake, but referring to the PlayStation game now bringing the series into the 3rd dimension.
That is interesting and would line up pretty close to the PSone release too
I love this game. Easily one of the best and most feature complete games on the platform.
It truly is! It’s crazy how much was crammed into the cartridge and such an in depth storyline too!

@@TheMysteryDriver Yes, if you look at the lives on that account they have 2 lives running the whole time in which they try to steal accounts from kids that play Roblox. Its an old scam they are doing. These accounts usually get tons of subs by promising free stuff to kids while nabbing their accounts on other platforms.

Most Metal Gear Villians have tragic back stories.
They really did! Was not expecting the stories to be anywhere nearly as deep, but they were really well written!

Ironic that this was uploaded hours before the 24th anv of this game (known in Japan as MGS: Ghost Bable)
I used to own this game before selling it (the cartridge was clear).
Even the VR training was fun.
Sadly finding an original copy is expensive.
That is a true coincidence then, had no idea lol. And it really is a fun game, and like you said, even down to the VR training missions. And always hurts when you’ve sold off a game that turned expensive as the years go by :/ maybe you’ll have one of those lucky garage sales stories to find another one!
