Hey guys, got any favs from this bunch? Due to time restrictions I had to keep this list limited, too many interesting games coming out, it's an indie game tsunami. One thing is clear though simulators are popular at the moment!
I saw "Sea of Stars" up on that list, but you scrolled past it.
I played the demo on the Switch....
And I honestly can't wait for that one!
Good luck with your game and congrats on making the list, that has got to feel awesome!
I'd wish list it, but I don't game on PC much currently since mine is fairly outdated and runs worse than a typewriter with a torn ribbon.
I personally like ATS and ETS2 but I can't figure out why are they in Indie section. Otherwise Gecko God or Taxi Driver seems interesting for me.
Loved seeing Blood And Mead on this!
Must be sick to see your own game! Congratulations 😊
Qual o problema , quem e Dev ,tem que vê e rever seus próprio jogo várias vezes
As always very nice content! Btw, I have Blood and Mead wishlisted for months! Can’t wait to play it!
Great video! You should do more videos showcasing current indie game market trends
If you're not wishlisting with that knock knock joke, idk what you're doing with your life.
Very nice Video, it would be so interesting to see the amount of wishlists that especially the lower rank games had. It is so hard to get into these high wishlist amounts unless you have a big audience already. Congrats, that you made it into this list, i hope we are able to do this as well when our game comes out
👍☺
Hey thanks. Based on my placement, I suspect it requires about 8-10k to appear on the list - this might change depending on the current pool of top games. You can do it! :💪
@@LostRelicGames Thank you for disclosing this information. Wow, 8k is really a lot. Right now we make around 10 wishlists per week, which would correlate to something like 520 wishlists per year. So in order to ever make it into this list, we really need to step up our marketing game 😁👍. Thanks for your nice words, they mean a lot to us☺. We have been watching your videos since more than 2 years now and you are a real inspiration for us. Keep up the great work and good luck with your game 👍👍.
Was hoping to get your precise wishlist numbers. Great job on getting there though man! Can't wait for your game to come out!
I really like these take a look videos!
keep doing this!
Rethinking my game design career, I should've just went into ministry and developed a game with Chat-GPT. Great video, and congrats on Blood&Mead being on the top of wishlishts!
Love this video!! Great idea to check out the top wishlisted games! Bunch of good games in there!! Im looking forward to anger foot!!! Looks so good
Anger foot looks insane!! I love these outrageous balls-to-the-wall games, so much fun 😅
So good to see your game on the list! I'm curious; was there a noticeable uptick in your metrics after you made the main character design changes?
Its had a progressive upswing since I introduced the more hardcore combat a few devlogs back, the new character appears to have continued that trend.
@@LostRelicGames That's awesome. It definitely compliments the gore and helps solidify the 'identity' of the game I think. One other thing I just noticed, the way you edited the trailer down on this vid works better imo. specifically the abrupt scene change from action sequences- to the boat and 'what a lovely breeze' - then back to action sequence. Like the pacing of this vids trailer makes that joke way more funny imo.
Yeah Blood And Mead! Love the sound effects and punchiness of your game! Looking forward to playing it when it's ready. No pressure though.
Hello. I'm always happy to see your new videos and watch them all the way through. My question is, what is your opinion on how much the amount of the wish list on Steam depends on your personal circle of acquaintances or the number of your followers? There are opinions that the two things are not necessarily closely related.
Hey Laszlo, its hard to say, but i've seen games rank high which had modest social presence. I feel if a game is exceptional the algorithm will find it (to a degree, and there are always exceptions). The less exceptional a game, the more guerilla marketing is needed. A healthy mix of both is likely the best: a great game with consistent community building. Neither is easy or fast unfortunately. I struggle with it all constantly
@@LostRelicGames Yes, as I develop my game, consistent advertising and community building will become more and more important. Therefore, I am gradually paying more and more attention to this area.
8:47 now I remember, I saw this game in recommendations about a month ago.
What software are you using for making blood and mead art? It looks really amazing and unique.
Plastic Love seems like good, wholesome fun for the whole family. No?
Can't wait for the sequel
Blood and mead: Popes edition
tempted to just scrap it all and go full pope
I love marketing/sales related videos, ty!
I wishlisted Blood&Mead and some guys too, so why are you surprised?)) it looks great i really love new style!)
Hey thanks, cognitive dissonance perhaps! I thought i'd need a lot more to get on the list. I appreciate your support man!
Congratulations, very happy for you! 😉
Sir, looking at simulators made by Playway - they are making 10000 of them with the same assets, just like a massive poor-made-simulator factory, and not looking at most anticipated game in the FPS genre - Battlebit Remastered. That went a bit wrong.
You know the game called "Anomaly agent"?
Available on Steam, UA-cam also has a channel called "Phew phew games", I would be very happy if you comment on this game.
I wish you success.
Congrats for appearing on the list ! :O that Lost Viking game tho :/ they are a lawsuit in waiting, the franchise is maybe still owned by blizzard.
You deserve it mate. Best wishes on the game when it releases!
Can't wait for B+M!
Also Gloomwood is gonna be amazing in 2024
take a look at Tevi, it's developer really knows what he is doing (Gemayue), and top of that he's a great player who understands and loves games themselves, i am sure you know but that's hard to find these days.
Or maybe do these videos but per genre aswell
Interesting to see what indie games are popular. There seems to be a lot of simulation games.
"Oh look, there's blood and mead, I didn't expect that guys honest" 😂 "Oh well, I might as well treat you to some gameplay footage" 😜
Wish you good luck. You are awesome dude.
Hello, the indie game named Compass of Destiny: Istanbul, which is currently in early access, will be released as a full version on December 14, 2023. We would be happy if you include it on your channel. Thanks..
Still far from making a demo, but I hope my game gets noticed one day too... 😅
Yeah, i agree, youtube takes away a lot of development time from me. Whew... 😅
3:13 "Oh my god"
Do you know the ballpark of how many wishlists you have? My game currently has 45,000 and I didn't see it on that list. I wonder if I just didn't use the "indie" tag or something - or maybe that's really not enough to make the list.
Your game should be on that list, unless there is another metric being factored in. What's your game called?
@@LostRelicGames It's called "In Sink". We have very few followers on the page because most of the wishlists were people being directed there if they completed the prologue version of the game as opposed to people naturally finding it, so if it's not there it's possible that followers is a factor.
I know for example that the estimated wishlists for our page is ~5k for that reason.
ETS2 Heart of Russia's been wishlisted for so long because it was expected to release in March of 2022...before Putin started misbehaving and made a major pitfall out of anything that looked like it was pro-Russian (even though SCS Software is apolitical, they just make games about trucks.)
i m still surfing the bullet heaven genre wave ...
Ultra realistic, viking, pope, simulator, coming right up!
Call it "Jesus Christ: I Am Yet Another Pope Simulator"
P AI A F S - the Pope AI Asset Flip Simulator 3000 🎉
Having the thought about Silksong being only technically an Indie at this point in mind... what you guys think that should be de definition of an Indie game nowadays?
It's a vague term these days that means different things to different people. It's often now used as a stylistic tag, or even a marketing ploy by larger companies to be relatable.
@@LostRelicGames its like "look, we are not some industry subject and our game is neat..." then...
Guess some other term will raise to define low budget entities wich are making games.
"Indie" isn't defined by how much money or how popular the Dev's previous games were....
It's the SIZE of the company's team.
"Hollow Knight" was a very SUCCESSFUL game and grew a large FAN BASE.
Thus, "Silksong" is HIGHLY wishlisted by that fan base...
That DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT that the "Team Cherry" dev team/company *IS ONLY THREE PEOPLE* (maybe five tops).
They are INDEPENDENT from large studios and publishers, they don't have large amounts of employees simply split into tiny groups in order to churn out high QUANTITIES of small games.
They're a small group, making a single QUALITY game at a time. They don't have those multiples of other team's games to fall back on should any of their games fail.
@@Jadebones As a matter of fact I agree with this. I was trying to understand Jhon's and others perspective here.
And I guess we would be falling to the "technically indie" portion of the discussion. Because it kinda starts gettting weird to put Team Cherry, Concerned Ape and even studios like Ubisoft Montreal (at its begenning) in the same basket as small teams wich are struggling with visibility and marketing.
Fully expecting some Pope themed platformers now.
Looks like the pope simulator genre is becoming pretty pope-ular!
i like that called called blood and mead it looks really cool
Dude I'm following your progress since the older design and sounds, just release a demo already, please.😉
man i know, i'm like a development turtle. Thanks for staying around
@@LostRelicGames No, I don't think you're that slow, but considering mechanics and design tweaks(including overall game feel) you've made, a missing demo is only thing separating you from more wishlists. If you'd plan to pitch the game to publishers, I'd add that too. But at this point , I guess, more wishlists are your goal😎.
P.S. I'd add timing dependant thrown axe deflecting back to enemy for skill based gameplay lovers, I'm not sure if that would be considered feature creeping.😜
You're not the only person who couldn't get into Celeste. I like platform games. I enjoy a decent puzzle game. The combo? Somehow didn't land for me. I know it's a me issue, not a game issue.
Ok, but I don't understand why my game with whopping 25 whishlist isn't on that list that you showed...
Hey I also couldn't get into Celeste
I guess I'm quiting my game and opening the bible now for new game ideas ;).
man.. your game is so cool..
Mine was in row 9999😢😂
My game #1337 rn :D
KARLSON
I don't think devolver can be called indie now
smh bro doesn't reveal his wishlist #. Fuckin nice being up there though, that must feel awesome.
Nice
0:28 games???? all they have under their belt is Hollow Knight 1 this is the sequel..
Design a better poster (game image on Steam) for your game or pay someone to do it for you. The current poster looks irrelevant and bad and boring
It's on the list of things to do! :)
You deserve it
firsttttttttttttt
Hollow Knight I would absolutely not classify as indie. "Indie" does not at all mean what it used to, just like how in music "pop" doesn't just refer to popular music, it's a specific sound. I don't think there's a super hard line, but I think generally if you have a budget in the high 6 digits you're way more of a AA developer. Not AAA, but not indie. Think about it like this, a random kid who's 15 and has $10 to his name can be an indie developer. That is a completely different league than Hollow Knight's situation. They are WAY closer to AAA than they are to that kid. Hades 2 is the same deal. They have millions of dollars at their disposal - unlike 99.9% of indie devs.
Bro is jealous about Hollow Knight's success, lol.
