Is there anybody else like Tim Rutili on this earth? There is not. We are so lucky to have this gorgeous, amazing music.
Their show at the clock out lounge was epic. These guys just keep making great music. Rutili is a poet.
Shit I had forgotten about Califone. Now I'm transported to both that bittersweet nostalgic past and that unknowable exciting future. And yet here I sit. Amaze balls...

Luck led me to see Tim solo at a tiny spot in Albuquerque. Possibly the best show I've ever seen. Extraordinary experience.

@@yawnymoodsAlways Open D or (D-A-D-f#-A-D), from what I could always tell. I’ve yet to find a Califone song that wasn’t in Open D, although someone could prove me wrong on this. The same seems to go for his Red Red Meat songs also. I’m 34 and Tim has been my favorite musician for almost 20 years , so me and my little brother have worked out a lot of his songs on guitar (as you will find out, Califone tabs are hard to come by). We’ve thought about transcribing the bits we have worked out, the ones we can remember anyways, and put them up on the internet for others to play and potentially improve. I’m in no way a musical savant, but If there is any songs of theirs you’re wanting to learn, just ask and there might be a small chance I could help.

KEXP, you guys are supposed to be the pros. Songs AND time stamps please. These videos are so fg good, many of us come back many times to learn, absorb, show others etc. They serve as a reference and a learning tool. A tick more effort to honour the performance.

Since they edited it out, I tried but couldn’t find anything on it. Youd think it sounding scandalous, it being about a known band (Material Issues) and it being in the news, it would be easily google-able. Yet, nothing I could find with a detailed google and quick search. I’m sure it’s somewhere out there on the web.
