- Jim Ross has been making and selling "Faro" boards for six years now. Faro is a gambling game popular in the old west of the 1880's. If interested in this game or if you want to purchase a board, counter or dealer box, call Jim at (760) 363-7568. Or e-mail him at jbr92256@gmail.com.
Jimmy is 86 years old and does not work on the computer much. He checks his sells on Ebay and I do the rest for him. If you have any comments you think he should hear or if you have questions, he would love to get a call from you.
Is Jimmy still living??
What's greatest life lessons? With gambling and in life?
Thank you for the explanation Jim. Love everything about the old west and always wanted to learn hiw to play this game! Nicely done.
“Since when is faro a business”
best explanation I've seen yet
If I had come here with the intention of buying the game, after so many "it's confusing" or "it's complicated" I would have given up
Interesting board. The case to track cards is nice too. He did leave off the rule for when then dealer and player cards are the same rank.
"By God! He's broken in half!" I'm not sorry.
As God as my witness, it's gonna be a slobber knocker!
so how many millions of arguments happened over the "location" of where those chips were placed as bets?? a quarter an inch either direction could mean something different..geesh...
Thank you Jim
That.was very. ..I liked it. And I'll subscribe.just tell me one thing...where do you get them old fashioned cards?!!
on ebay actuall
search "faro cards"
Is this guy the grown up version of Napoleon Dynamite's brother?
Overall you explained the game well expect the casekeeper did not handle the chips. That job was the dealers only since he banked the game. Also you didn't mention splits when both cards come out the same losing and winning. The dealer took half the bet. This gave the dealer his 2% edge on the game.
Thanks, he knows about these things and does talk about them on the instruction disc which comes with the game.
He'll on wheels brought me here
"Only suckers buck the tiger"
The odds are all on the house!!
what happens if you place a bet between two numbers and thoes two same numbers are drawn as winning and loosing. would you win or loose?
I know your comment is 3 years old lol but my understanding is that if what you are saying happens then the dealer gets half on what the player betted.
What happens when the "Soda" card is a Joker? I know the odds change (somehow). Also, how do you handle Jokers, when they appear during the game?
Thanks in advance for helping!
they are removed from the deck before starting the game
"What are pennies made of? Ans - Dirty Copper!
This is the most simple game in the world. He didn't do a very good job of explaining it. You bet on a card or cards, if the card is drawn as the winning card you win what you bet, if it comes up as the losing card you lose your bet. If neither, you keep going or bet more. Thats it. If you copper your bet you are then betting on that card to lose. High card, you are betting the winning card will be higher than the loser.
Smash Er thank you, very clear and easy to understand
How do I get a set up like that?
you build it
So there is only a soda card as the very first card or each round?
Just the very first card
Re the last 3 cards... how would anyone know when there were exactly 3 cards left? Seems like there could be quite a bit of confusion at times re the those last 3 cards(!?)
That is one of the purposes of the card counter (counter board). You always know how many cards are left.
He is talking about how "complicated it is" but He does not remember to pay out the Ace who won on the line bet between ace and queen :P! Jim you gotta work on your dealer skills! ^^
So, how much does the game cost? How much does the box cost? T hanks.
Sorry William but Jimmy does not get into You Tube at all. His son put this in to advertise Jimmy's games. He sells the games and the counter board (or case keeper) on Ebay. Unfortunately he does not have any more dealers boxes and does not intend to build any more. Game sells for $225 and counter board for $50. He does prefer you go through Ebay.
Not complicated
Omg I fell a sleep
Wait the bet on the 4 cards you said you could win or lose with any card. You brought out the losing card and it was a 5 so the dealer didn't get anything? The winning card was the 2 on the 4 card bet but you said he lost? That makes no sense, you explained that totally wrong? From what I was told the copper bet didn't reverse the win or lose cards, you were betting that the card you put copper on was going to be the losing card.
He makes these, he did not "develop" them. Unless he is 300 years old.
