Thank you so much for watching! If you’re interested in modeling in Korea, I also recommend you to watch videos from this playlist ua-cam.com/play/PL2n0G6Jp9TLbFD-24OCtnqf4r1SyWS5cT.html I’m sure you’ll find them interesting too ☺️ Have a lovely day 🌸
Yes, it's quite hard to get into modeling industry if you're not tall and have scars... I've talked about some cases and difficulties here ua-cam.com/video/anLQ6bTGPZ4/v-deo.html Maybe pursuing it as a hobby would be a better option for you? And in some cases scars can be healed too and it doesn't mean that you're not beautiful ❤️ Anyways, I hope you'll find something - either a job or hobby that will bring you joy :)
In your video most pictures had an expressionless look. Does Korean market also like that expressionless look, or is a smile also OK. I often see prospective models upload their portfolio and every picture is expressionless. Personally, I just feel, a small smile looks better. Wondering how you think about facial expression in portfolio shoots.
Yes, you absolutely can have several pictures of you smiling or showing different emotions, but having too many of them isn't necessary. In general I wouldn't call these pictures expressionless, I'd describe them "calm looking ones" and yes, this is what majority of jobs look like here. When it comes to lookbook and catalogs - you need to sell the product and the attention should be focused on the product, not on the model's face expression. On the test shoots we can experiment with emotions and different posing (more creative and fun) to show the potential clients that the model is capable of doing something like this if needed. Same with editorials - depending on the concept / moodboard etc, you show the wider range of emotions. For some jobs smiling or doing something fun is required, again it all depends on the brand's concept. Usually more cute, teenage - focused brands like the pictures with the smile, I would say Japanese world "kawaii" would describe them perfectly even though we're talking about Korean market. Photos for homewear, family-focused brands and etc. In this video I'm showing the most popular options that will work for everyone. You also need to think about your own strong points / showing your abilities. For some models it can be a smile or slightly opened mouth ( like the ones who has a tooth gap), for some strong confident look ( models with really defined cheekbones for example) and etc. You don't need to copy anyone, just do what feels right, what your body language is telling you + listen to the client = visualize their concept.
You don't necessarily have to invest in modeling portfolio right away. It's always possible to start building it by doing collaborations. The skin condition is also can be healed :) Don't only focus on negative things, there are always some opportunities available, you just need to find them. And I talk more about modeling portfolio in these videos that I'd recommend you to watch: The basics abut models book / portfolio ua-cam.com/video/h0ExQ-gVta0/v-deo.html And additional, more detailed info ua-cam.com/video/zoS8IWwQVOg/v-deo.html
