    I'm a new guitarist and I've been all over UA-cam and you are by far one of the best teachers for beginners. Love how you add the metronome, then continue on with background music!! By including these two tools actually makes me feel like I'm actually playing something. Thankyou.so much for putting out beginner videos!! Keep em coming!!

    Thanks a chunk Anders, i have taken a lot from your lesson. All this time i memorized chord shapes and stuff, but i just could not put my act together. This session seems to address my concern.
    At 50 its kind of sluggish, but thanks to my online tutors (like yourself), soon i will be playing a lot better.
    Thank you and God bless.

    I never wanted to really learn any genres besides punk (it’s the style I like the most) but after awhile, making songs started to sound the same so I figured I’d open my playing skills and learn other genres to interpret for my songs and style playing. Made it sound more unique and I like it.

    Back beat Down beats explained, these typically are left out of lessons, I find most students lack these skills, we assume they just know these Rhythmic schemes but they do not . Many tell me they figured it out on their own later but wished they had been taught all those rhythmic definitions earlier .......thanks for reminding me it's important to explain it ......

      It isnt really easy to play a guitar it takes so much practice and dedication your finger gets sores at first and trying to play some songs that is way above your level is kind of a deterrent for some but if it is easy for you that is great

      @@shaquilledowlin1610 just gotta keep playing through. Eventually you’ll get callus on your fingertips so that won’t be an issue. Learning simple chords like these are best to start out with and perfect as well as strumming patterns and time signatures. I then suggest moving onto songs that are a bit harder than ones a beginner would be used to. Depends on what kind of guitarist one wants to be. I practiced to be a singer/songwriter so I love chord progressions and melodies.

    • @shaquilledowlin1610

      @@yesmamnosir7997 Thanks for the advice. I am trying to get learn barre chords now, was avoiding them all the time. I can kind of play them good enough so teh strings ring out but switching from an open chord to a barre chord is a challenge. I prefer fingerpicking more than strumming so it is like mistakes on the strings you are plucking are more noticeable than when you are strumming.

    • @yesmamnosir7997
      @yesmamnosir7997 3 роки тому +1

      @@shaquilledowlin1610 barre chords are good to learn cause your fingers will def get better with the fretboard while using chords and you can learn and memorize the sound of each chord faster IMO, but in my experience I’ve never even used a barre chord while playing unless I was playing a Bmaj chord. It’s better probably just learning the CAGED system. Strumming or finger picking either way is good and will be useful. Do you though and like I said just keep at it and holding down chords will soon just become second nature. Then it’s time to learn some scales and some music theory. The circle of fifths will become your best friend. Good luck!

    One thing I notice on all kinds if not most beginner lessons. Is they never tell you what’s going to happen to your fingers when u first start playing. I’m teaching my boy and the first thing he said was I hate this. It hurts my fingers. Yes. You will get blisters at first. So I recommend 30 min a day for 1-2 weeks. Then you will be fine.
