Thank goodness for all the nations that comprise of NATO, that which provides long term national security and economic security through trade (securing trade routes). Sec Gen Stoltenberg will be missed! Thank you for your service.
Jens Stoltenberg is exactly the sort of leader which NATO and the EU need right now. I always enjoy his clear and direct communication style when giving these addresses. After 75 years, who knew that NATO would be even more important than it was at its founding? Such a remarkable story.
He is not actually a "leader" but more of a "spokes person". NATO is lead by the allies themselves which make all the decisions, Jens represents NATO and communicates the allies' decisions to the world ... but I agree, he is very good at this job and its sad to see him going into (deserved) retirement.
Why doesn't NATO draw the Russian Federation's Red Line in which NATO announces that NATO troops will definitely be stationed in Ukraine if the Russian Federation orders a new mobilization?
Here is my idea of how to end the Russia-Ukraine War in 1-2 years. First, Ukraine ought to mobilize one additional million soldiers, 500 thousand of which are dedicated to infantry soldiers for fighting in trenches, the rest is used for rotation of the frontline combat soldiers, and when the Ukrainian armed forces can retake all of the territory back including Crimea, then NATO can officially declare accepting Ukraine's expedited application for joining NATO Alliance. The Ratification should start right away shortly after so that NATO can move its troops into Ukraine to guard all of Ukraine's borders.
You are thinking way to complicated. We/NATO/"The West" just have to provide enough weapons/ammunition ... that's it ... but it is not done. Just a few random examples: 1) The US is still scraping old MBT and IFV ... instead of sending it to UA which would even save money for dismantling and disposal. 2) Germany is not providing or allowing delivery of Taurus to deconstruct the Kerch Bridge, which would have ended the southern occupation pretty fast ... however, now they have a railroad over land, thus this window of opportunity has closed. 3) After more than two years of war, weapon producers have not received huge orders for equipment ... neither to arm us nor UA 4) Where are the long range weapons? 5) Why cant they use the stuff outside their border? 6) We didn't even supply what was promised for the famous "counter offensive" so that it got delayed and delayed until they stared it way to weak out of desperation. UA does not need NATO forces. Currently they fight not only with one arm tied on their back, but both arms ... and chained feets too ... blindfolded. Ruzzia has revealed itself to be so weak, that we only have to provide the tiniest fraction of our defense budged to let UA defend our interests for us ... but we even fail at that.

Happy anniversary NATO 🎉
No mention of increase arm supplies; upgrade in case of war! Even if it's not our intention but it would be prudent to be ready in case of.
Russia is so screwed. Even when this was is eventually going to end, sanctions won't.
