you said "speed of light" but I think you meant "speed of sound". Light is 186,000 ft/sec or about 35 miles/sec. Mach 5 is not even close!

Yes , that it flys into orbit. To the internation space station, and beyond. When the Shuttle was damaged, it was sent with a repair wing patch. It failed and followed the shuttle in re-entry. It filmed the shuttle debris at 50 miles up.
