I found a serum that has literally saved my hair. Brand is called straight ahead and it's called revitalizing Moroccan hair serum w argan oil. Use on dry hair or wet. Amazing. My hair has grown 1.9 inches in 8 wks...
I used to look good in dark eye makeup. The more, the better, now, it looks scary. Some older women, think Alexis Carrington, can swear lots of makeup and it still looks good.🌸
Great tips as always. Exercise is a major way to look more youthful. A lean body looks younger than a thick, heavy body. Your skin will look better. Clothes fit better as well. Approaching my 70th year and I can attest to this. Is it EASY? NO, but it's worth the effort for all the benefits.
Sharon Woryn Hi Sharon, I have found the opposite to be true. As we age, so does our figure. If we strive to keep our twenty-something body our face will pay the price. We unfortunately lose facial fat with each passing year and having a little extra body fat keeps the face fuller. There is a balance to it and a way to ensure that the body fat goes the places we want it to. At nearly 60, I have a better figure now than at any other time of my life... and I’ve birthed seven children.
@@christinamckinney2370 I will not apologize for exercising and staying healthy. We have an obesity epidemic in this country and I think seniors are using age as an excuse to gain weight and then taking meds for diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems. You need strong bones and exercise helps achieve that. I am NOT trying to have a 20 year old body. What gave you that idea? It's about looking healthy and being healthy.
Sharon Woryn Just looking at what I’m seeing in the over 50 group of women. I’m a huge advocate of health and nutrition... been teaching over 20 years... was KETO before it was even called keto.... I lift free weights and do cardio. My trainer who is a championship bodybuilding competitor says I am the strongest woman he has ever worked with...no matter the age. BUT.... I’m not trying to recreate a 20 something body. I absolutely love my curves! I see women get down to 115 pounds and then spend thousands on Botox, fillers, and surgeries...when all that was needed was gym time to rebuild muscle. Not starving ourselves to finally get rid of the tummy pouch allows us to keep fuller cheeks, butts and hips. Yay! for the curves... and body shapers! And FAT just plain FEELS better to the touch.
Tip from this pasty white blue eyed blond's dermatologist: The sunscreen in foundation and CC cream is not near the stated SPF unless you really cake it on. Who can wear the standard full 1/4 teaspoon of foundation? Not me anyway. Mixing foundation with sunscreen dilutes protection too. It's a pain but put on sunscreen as a separate layer and let it absorb and dry before putting on makeup. I didn't know this til recently and thought I should pass it on.
Thanks, Susan! I just bought an awesome one that smells divine and goes on lightly. I’m exited to put it to the test. What is your favorite sunscreen??
@@BusbeeStyle I have 2 favorites: EltaMD facial and Australian gold tinted. Neither pills up if i wear foundation over it. For lips I like Ocean potion lip balm. Thank you so much for all your videos!
I used the Australian Gold tinted and Hawaiian tropic silk hydration weightless for the face and they both work beautifully with both a powder and liquid foundation I use. Neither of them pill,I have tried many that did and it frustrated me to no end. I put the sunscreen on wait a little while before I apply my foundation. If I am not in the mood to go full face of makeup, I use the tinted sunscreen , a little lipstick, mascara and out the door. The sunscreen is always a part of my morning routine and I use it all year round. A little tip for those who have dry skin or live in a cool or cold climate try a facial mist. I have been using a product by Garnier, skin active, soothing facial mist, with rose water. It for dry and sensitive skin. It has 99% natural ingredients. I spray before I put my makeup on,let it dry then apply my makeup and spritz again. I use alone as well after my morning routine even if I don’t put on any makeup. Has anyone else used this?
For my lips, as a splurge, I use Kaplan MD perfect pout lip balm with spf 30, as well as their lipsticks that also contain spf 30. Of course I’ll use cheaper balms too, but I like that I found some lipsticks that contain an spf.
Bernadine Royal -Australian gold has ingredients known for being on the toxic side: Avobenzone 3% Homosalate 10% Octisalate 5% Octocrylene 2.75% Oxybenzone 4%- bad stuff!! Non toxic active sunscreen is zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
Another fun tip to look younger I heard recently was to wear sparkly earrings. I got a small simple pair of hoops with Swarovski crystals and feel so pretty when I wear them. A little extra shine near the face works!
Thx Erin I really appreciate all the 10 simple tips .Just turned 60 and am encouraged to keep enjoying fashion and makeup and being the best you can be at any age . THANK YOU!
TEETH WHITENING TIP: I am very leery of putting harsh chemical whiteners on my teeth. I grew up in the 50s and got more than my fair share of pesticides and toxic additives, thank you. I think I can do without, now. So, I use an ancient aryuvedic technique called "oil pulling." After brushing your teeth, put a tablespoon of coconut oil (I use the always liquid kind from the supermarket) in your mouth and swish/hold it there for 5 to 15 minutes (I hop in the shower). Do not spit it out in the shower (slip and fall disaster). It took about a month to see the full results, but I managed to make my teeth whiter than the professional teeth whitening at the dentist's office. The professional treatment left my mouth sore for two days and my teeth sensitive for a week. No such problems with oil pulling - and it's dirt cheap!
Dear Dolly: Actually, I doubt it was the carbamide peroxide that gave me a sore mouth (although it IS what causes teeth sensitivity). The peroxide comes packaged with a slew of gelling emulsifiers, preservatives, and flavorings, very few of which have been tested for human safety (check out Environmental Working Groups cosmetics ratings, or scroll through Science in the Public Interest website under "tooth bleach".) Obviously, the peroxide is harmless, your body manufactures it in tiny doses virtually every day, it's the rest of it (and my idiopathic response) that makes me wary. At any rate, I got better results, although more slowly, with the oil pulling.
Linda Grace, I agree, I have been pulling for about 3 years and my dentist even noticed the difference. Not just in brightness but also in the part between gums and teeth where I would get build up, I no longer do. Only difference is I pull before brushing, using solid coconut oil.
RAL oil is a natural solvent that is also gentle. Many companies will use it to clean mass spills. My husband will use it to remove grease or paint on his hands and I've heard of people using olive oil to clean stainless steal. So it can remove small debris, teeth stains and polish at the same time
Love these tips! Thanks Erin! Another thing that I think tends to age folks are red eyes, or reddened eyes...clear eyes always make someone look young. Unfortunately I have Ocular Rosacea so I'm well aware of this now. One tip docs told me, or anyone with dry-eye issues - there is actually a layer of oil on top of the water that sits on your eyes. Drops don't really address the issue - they're like a band-aid in that they temporarily soothe the eye, but don't get to the root of the problem. Anyway, some of you may have dry-eye from oil-gland clogging (which is what I have going on). So along your lashes are these tiny glands called Meibomian glands. Sometimes these get clogged with oil. For anyone with dry-eyes, see a doc - but one thing you can do at home is up your Omega 3 intake, and do this exercise: Take a washcloth and heat in under hot water. Wring it out and hold it against your closed eyes. What you're doing is using the heat to soften up the oil that's clogged in the glands. Then after about 5 min, gently run your fingers down (top down) over your lids to your lashes...this will push the oil out onto your eyes. Do the same for lower eyelids, but from the bottom up. You can google it too - meibomian gland massage. Sorry - didn't mean to write a novel here but I know with aging a lot of us begin to suffer from dry-eyes and this can really help. Also shades can help keep your eyes white when in the sun because just like your skin can get broken capillaries from the sun, so can your eyes. Hope this helps! :-)
ever since I started using retinol my eyes have been very dry. I read the creams can cause it...do they bother you? I can barely wear my contacts any longer.
I'm sorry I don't use retinol so not sure - I think if a retinoid is taken internally it can cause general dryness as is inhibits oil production - (like Accutane) but I don't know about externally.
Thank you so much for your 'novel'! I've been experiencing clogged meibomian glands lately and I feel like it helps just knowing what they're called ! To get rid of them ironically I heat a washcloth w/warm water and lay it over it. The last one was right smack-dab in the middle of my eye and a really big, it sucked
I feel the same way, but my boyfriend thinks I do it for attention cause i need reassurance from ppl and I really dont. His way of thinking is just wrong...I truly love taking care of my skin for me and only me cause it does feel good and i feel good and everyone looks great when they feel good about themselves...I'll never let him take this away from me. Thank you for your video, its really awesome!🐛🦋
@@wildbutterflycj No offense, but your boyfriend sounds threatened by attention you receive. I could be wrong, but I can't think of any good reason why he would say this to you, instead of " Wow, you look great! I'm so happy to be with such a beautiful woman that receives attention!" Or perhaps he's a little insecure. Or both. My X told me the reason he would never compliment me (& in fact, put me down in sly ways) was because he was afraid I would get a big head & leave him. He was also used to getting all the attention, & suddenly it was " Did you see Mr. J's wife?" This was in our early 20's. It caused me much insecurity, & I began dressing meticulously, thereby starting a vicious cycle of more attention & more insecurity, lol. Good for you for not letting him bother you!! You're gorgeous!❤✌
I have been watching your channel for almost a year now. Your advice has helped so much. I am currently getting my middle age groove back. I took note of your tip on purchasing cognac brown items, such as bags, coats, and shoes. I recently picked up a Wilsons Leather cognac colored satchel for a steal at a consignment shop. It's my first time buying such a luxury item. What fun! It really will go with everything. Thanks.
I enjoyed the video! I also am 44 this year. I've come to the conclusion that I can't get away with "looking 10 years younger," much anymore. But the new goal is just trying to " not look old."' hehe And I have to agree with a lot of other comments that you look much younger with less makeup.
I have embraced aging. We cannot avoid it. There are no miracles for removing wrinkles. I want to look my age; not how I looked like when I was in my 20s. I am going to wear whatever I want. I am going to keep wearing the amount of makeup, keep my long hair, etc. I am proud of who I am and aging won't stop me. I have learned the importance of taking care of myself from the inside first. I have never smoked, or used illegal drugs or abused myself. I stay away from sitting in the sun. In my opinion the key to aging gracefully are the following: exercise, keep hydrated (water/serum), wear SPF, eat good food, sleep, and keep positive.
Rosa Sacco I don’t really care I just like trying new looks. On top of that, not trying to sound cynical but it also has to do with genetics as well as self care. Not knocking your point ma’am but just saying. I think it is important to take care of self regardless and making sure you are happy with self. I don’t think she was trying to insinuate aging is bad but just giving her suggestions as to how to take care of self. Ps I know imma get yelled at for speaking my point so I’m sorry for those who take this the wrong way. No harm just saying guys... 🙋🏽♀️❤️ 🤗
You are beautiful and your videos are always informative. One thing I would like to add-be sure and put your sunscreen, oils, serums on your neck too! Necks show age really fast too and unless you wear turtle necks constantly, they will show!!
FASTING! It promotes autophagy which is literally your body's way of getting rid of OLD cells. It also reduces inflammation which slims the face and eliminates under eye puffiness. Great tips, I love all of your videos!
Just started a new teeth whitening routine. That was a great tip! But I think the sunscreen tip was the most valuable tip. Last May, I went through Moh's skin cancer surgery. (They got it all) it was a tumor on my right temple. I asked what did the dermatologist recommended as far as SPF and she said minimum of 30-50. Now i wear it everyday. I spent too many days on the beach in Galveston in my teens and 20's. Love your videos! Even my grand daughters comment on my moto jackets and hats! Don't forget- your smile is your best accessory!
I am 63 and what to look younger my face don't look that bad as the the tv on c5 look 10 years younger tonight day i had bow toxes just hope it works looking for over thing u can use that don't pay out lots
Thanks for the motivation! I'll be 60 in February I have MS but it just started to try again after filling not so great and looking better definitely made me feel better I have a jar of castor oil because I have no eyebrows that I haven't used yet we'll see thanks for the tips I saved your video so I can go back and refer to it always enjoy your videos!
Wonderful video presentation! I love your tips on paying attention to your eyebrows and wearing a ponytail. I find that a high ponytail, filled brows, a bit of coverstick around my nose, eyes & mouth, mascara on curled lashes, rosy cheeks, and naked, glossy lips turns back the clock for me at 56. I'm addicted to this youthful look. Also, I get my sleep. Visine (or the like) works wonders as well. Veiny eyes are aging. Lastly, I have a strong body structure, not skinny. Staying strong, not slim, is always my goal, along with healthy food and an adequate amount of water. 🕊️
Some very important points: Oil cannot moisturise because it contains no humectents (water binding molecules). Oil will soften tho, so apply over the moisturiser.. Apply CeraVe moisturiser cream to a VERY DAMP (almost wet) face/neck. The seremides (which are humectents) in CeraVe hold the water and hence deeply moisturise the skin. This is based on science, not opinion All dermatologists teach this on Moisturisimg. Also, you need to apply more sunscreen - a teaspoon in total to the face otherwise it does not give adequate protection. I suggest a mineral sunscreen as it has the best filters against UVA 1&2 and UVB. Chemical sunscreens in the US give inadequate UV protection as the filters are not sufficient.
I love this, great tips! One tiny suggestion: a cooler tone on the brows? They look a little too red/warm:) On the other hand, you could have blue eyebrows and you would still look stunning!
Yes, I agree...I have very fair eyebrows and fill them in or tint them. I find the dark brown gives too much of a reddish tint, whereas the light brown is just right
Great video. I’d add one tip-drink plenty of water. I try to drink half my weight in ounces daily as recommended by my doctor and it’ has made a huge difference in the look and feel of my skin.
I recently heard that the amount of water which I've always heard was 8-160z. glasses per day was actually hard on the kidneys. I am in no way saying this is fact. I love my water and I always have something to drink with me at all times. The reasoning was [supposedly] that we weren't meant to process that much liquid, therefore putting more stress on our organs. I know it sounds ridiculous. I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard anything similar?
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 I agree. A lot of people don't know this but the fallacy of a lot of water was created by beverage companies. If you realize that the "drink more water" movement came about the same time as the rhetoric about how bad tap water was for you and that you should drink bottled water it will make more sense. Doctors picked it up and now it's a hard thing to get out of people's heads. Other doctors are becoming "drink to thirst advocates" but the change is slow. Drinking a lot of water is not only tough on the kidneys but it also washes out your electrolytes which can be really damaging to the body. Really, it is better to listen to your body and drink to thirst. People in dryer climates will probably need more. I will probably get backlash for saying all of this but in a few years (hopefully), it will be common knowledge again.
Drinking is great but too much will mess with your kidneys and disturb your body's digestive system. Also, drinking just 4-6 oz at a time is all an average body can utilize within a half hour. Otherwise, it gets peed out anyway.
Great advice Erin! So glad you mentioned thick lustrous hair, dry over-processed hair is definitely very ageing in my book. Women believe that grey hair is ageing but it really is a better alternative than brittle, thinning coloured hair! Personally, I think lipstick makes a woman look older too. Great when you are five years old or a budding teenager. Not so great when the lips start ageing! Dewy plump hydration is the way to go in that area too! By the way, I have to say Erin, you look stunning without make up (for any age)!!! oxox
100% agree with these tips!!!! I’m 42 and have seriously noticed a major change in my appearance since turning like 38. I really wish I’d have used sunscreen more in my 20’s, because I’m dealing with tons of blotchiness and sun damage now. AND it’s true - I can’t wear powder anymore, nor things like bottom eye liner, contour, smokey eyeshadow... it all just makes me look waaaayyyy older. ☹️
I totally agree about whitening our teeth! I got my trays from my dentist when I was 38. After doing the whitening, days later I was going to an event with former coworkers and I got carded on the way in. Even though my gums are sensitive, I now get the 35% gel that I can use for 30 minutes. (The trays in my mouth overnight interrupted my sleep.) But I don't get the gel for free - I have to buy it. Then I store the extra in the refrigerator. Now I'm 59 and I still whiten my teeth once or twice a year for a few days.
I understand you, about dry climate. I visited Tucson, Az and I looked 10 to 15 years older and I was in my 40’s at the time. I live where near the ocean and I like the humidity for my face.
Be aware.Retinal when used consistently can redden the skin. I didn't know this, used it for a year then had to have the affected skin areas laser treated to remove the damaged layers.
I use a face primer by benefit, I follow with a tinted moisturizer by NARS and I add a dollop of the Laura Mercer tinted moisturizer that adds to much shine when used alone. When I combine the 2 I get a perfect sheer low luminosity look. Get better soon Erin! 😘
How to do you apply castor oil to your eye lashes, what method to get oil close to lash line? My lashes and eye brows have both thinned out, its my age but I’d love to do something to help them grow. Thanks😊
Linda McAndrew I put a small amount in a bottle and use a spoolie to apply. You can get them at Sally’s or Amazon. You put it on your lashes. Just a light coating or it gets in your eyes.
I tried this with castor oil for my slim lashes but after 10 days, at 61 had my first clogged oil gland/stye like red large lump on my upper lid. It took 3 weeks to go away!!! Using this be ware, it can clog your eye lid pores!!
I love these videos Erin! I agree that thick, cakey makeup is aging and outdated. I mix a dewy base with a light coverage foundation or BB cream, like you, and dab a damp beauty blender sponge all over my finished face, to remove any residue. I also pat in a small bit of oil (argan usually) over my whole finished face if I feel extra dry.And I’ve also lightened up my lipstick colors! No more dark berries for me. I’m in my 50’s and that just looks too harsh. 😣
Busbee, you have changed my beauty style! I wear make up, eyeshadow since I have to wear a mask. I have also improved my wardrobe and feel way better. Thank you and I continue to watch your videos. You have become my beauty angel. Thank you
You have some great tips!! I do use castor oil on my brows and eyelashes. I do believe it makes the lashes & brows grow, but the main reason I use it is for my lashes. For years, I have struggled with my upper eyelashes "breaking" in the middle. The ends would be long, but the center would be quite short. This past spring, I found out that the reason is that my lashes are dry. My lashes usually break about 2-3 times a year. I have been using castor oil since May and they have not broken since! Yay!!! I buy it on Amazon and it has an eyelash wand for easy application. I use about 4 times a week.
Yes! Castor oil helps with hair growth. Jamacian Black Castor oil specifically. I was able to undo a good 15 years of waxing and plucking with my eyebrows by leaving them alone and putting a little JBCO on at night. It can also work for your scalp, but heat it up and mix a little bit of it with another oil that is lighter weight, as it is super thick. YMMV but it's worth a try, and it's not expensive.
SPF 50 on face, neck and decollete. La Roche Posay Retinol cream at night. Drinking plenty of water. Concealer and foundation are a must. A good haircut, with a maximum length at shoulders and a soft and very natural hair color.
Great tips to look younger...I will say one thing I don't want anyone to see me without any makeup.... I am 69 years old. .I do color my hair. .after styling I use a shine spray...My hair isn't dry... I would like to wear my hair long but everybody says it makes. me look older. So I wear a bob..I don't want to look older. I love all your advice....Thanks for another great video..
I am 44 too! So i recently(4 months ago) started using organic castor oil 4x a week in my night routine, on my eyelashes and brows. I think it has made a remarkable difference. My husband and sons do laugh at me though, when it's oil night...it tends to be a tad goopy and hard to see. Lol.
Eva Ackermann-Gerber Organic definition: 1. Relating to or derived from living matter 2. (Of food or farming methods) produced or involving production without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents. And yes, there is organic castor oil.
I tried this with castor oil for my slim lashes but after 10 days, at 61 had my first clogged oil gland/stye like red large lump on my upper lid. It took 3 weeks to go away!!! Using this be ware, it can clog your eye lid pores!!@@BusbeeStyle
1. Castor oil helps with brows and lashes. Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil and apply to scalp or areas where hair is thinning to help with growth. 2. Add a few drops of oil to your foundation for a glow. This is a Wayne Goss tip that helps so much.
My eyebrows thinned after chemo so I perked up at the mention of castor oil to regrow them! Thanks! Approaching 59, I rarely wear make-up anymore. My eyes are too sensitive now for mascara. I have more age showing on my neck and chest than on my face, wrinkles trying to form. I use Gold Bond Neck & Chest Firming Cream. It works well.
I think she looks younger without all the make up, too. I'm 58 and wear very minimal. Sunscreen, a couple touch ups and mascara are all I wear these days.
Thanks hunny, I'm 40 in November, and these tips are helpful. I am using your tips. I am growing my hair thick again, it's taking awhile but I'm sure it will get there👍 They make up tips are suitable for my skin. I am going to invest in some good skin care as well. I have combination skin and want to begin a new skin care routine. I was once a beauty therapist years ago and I find I come back to my roots at this age. Thanks for the positivity for us women and mother's. 🌈🌻
Glad to see you feeling better, And yes the dry air of Colorado really does require special strategIes for staying hydrated. As far as skin rejuvenation i am hearing microneedling is more effective that ultherapy. What are your thoughts?
Great tips. Would love to see more of these types of videos but I do love your fashion ones too. My take on it is if I can’t afford fashions at least I can try to make my face and hair look good. I’m the same age as you.
You can still recreate the fashions! Just shop budget-friendly options. Check out this video for some of my favorites!! ua-cam.com/video/s2rrPtTOc9E/v-deo.html
Shine tips for curly haired ladies who don’t use silicones (they actually dry out curls,) is a DIY oil. Argan and rosehip at a 1:1 helps shine. Add a few drops of a scented essential oil if you want. Or do a gloss treatment.
Try a mix of castor oil and vitamin e oil 1:1, for a few days over your brows to grow them a bit, use tweezers for hair you don’t want, and with little patience you can have thicker brows... Benefit brow gel is the go to thing in the mean while (they have couple of shades to choose from).
Excellent tips! While I have heard or read most of them in other places, you have encapsulated and demonstrated very clearly what the information means. That is so important, because sometimes what we see in our mind's eye is very different than what the information looks like. I will be looking for more information and tips from you, from now on. I am now a subscriber!
Great tips Erin. Even if I wear a BB or CC cream with SPF, I still use a base layer of sunscreen. It's also important to keep your hands and cuticles moisturized and well manicured because dry, wrinkled hands are very aging.
I have always washed my face morning and night. Through the years I have used every product imaginable. About 3 years ago I was introduced to Dulce de Donke’ charcoal soap bar. It is made in Oklahoma. I love it!!! Never a breakout, never over tight feeling. Only a fresh clean feeling skin. I also only use my Norwex facial cloth. With these two items you are set for beautiful skin.
She is naturally beautiful and young looking. Check 8:14 when she does the brow demo. She can pass for someone more than 20+ younger. You would never know. So pretty!
Try Amla cream overnight...its amazing!! It sells on Amazon....you also can mix coconut oil and castor oil for a few hours and wash. Rub in the oils in your scalp as you do this and you can do it once or twice a week and your hair will grow back and much fuller than ever b4 and you'll see new hair coming in, in the front of your forehead. It's easy to see there so you'll know it's growing in and I promise you, your hair will grow longer and thicker!! I agree with the foundation. It does enhance your imperfections so much..facial yoga is Amazing!!! It makes your face look lifted and youthful!! Its truly amazing and works...about the lips, I use concealer over the lip line cause as you get older the color of your lips lessons and after using concealer you use the lip liner and draw the lip line higher and your lips look fuller....it works amazing. If you have puffy eyes, use wunderlift, its 22$ at cvs only and it has it's own concealer so it doesn't mess with using wunderlift. They have wunderbrow too which is amazing!! All their products are great!! The wunderlift for puffy eyes works so good! It's tinted and matches with your skin as you put it on. I used to use instantly ageless but sometimes it left a white residue on your skin and sometimes it didn't, you just had to work at using it and it was great! But using concealer and stuff could be really difficult with this IA so wunderlift is the way to go plus it's alot mire inexpensive and works wonders!! You can also use it on your face as well for wrinkles. Also at night you can use coconut oil on your under eye or olive oil for the night while you sleep and that helps with puffy eyes and you can research alot of things you can do for puffy eyes on UA-cam. Eating certain foods that your body is lacking and it can be a sign of something being wrong with your kidneys and or liver and you can find out how to fix that with the research. I just wanted to help share some things I do that helped me cause I had every problem here and it all worked for me and I'm in my 40's as well. I also do facemasks, facial peels, dermaroller so I can get the collagen in my skin as well as hyaluronic acid cause it cant get into your skin unless you do this or a dr uses needles to insert it for puffy eyes etc....hyaluronic acid just cant get into the skin by rubbing it on and they don't tell you this. You also have to make sure it says hyaluronate on the bottle of hyaluronic acid that you purchase cause it's the only real hyaluronic acid that works for your skin and does what it says. Always do your research on everything you do with all health. Supplements cant be taking if you're on certain medications like if you use Turmeric for high blood pressure make sure you research taking Turmeric along with a high blood pressure medication. It's kind of like taken 2 of the same thing. I believe in the holistic approach cause it does work and if it didn't, you wouldn't have to watch what you take as far as what I've explained....I should start my own UA-cam channel but I am nervous and don't really understand how it works. I do have so much I can help with and share but I'm a bit shy but maybe I'll think about it and see...I just don't want to do it wrong is all. I hope it's ok that I shared some things on here and I want you to know I'm grateful if so ...I like your ideas and approaches alot!! Great channel here....blessings to you all.
Earthangel 143 you should definitely start your own youtube channel, this knowledge must be spread! Don’t be afraid, there are tons of tutorials here on youtube on how to do record/edit videos. Current apps are very intuitive and anyone can use them.
Diluting an SPF product seriously lowers the amount of protection your’re getting from UV rays. If there is one thing you can do to make your skin look better and help with the signs of aging, it’s to wear a lot of sunscreen. Tinted mineral sunscreens can completely take the place of a foundation, and most have a higher SPF. I have found the best primer for lids is the Dermablend cream concealer, it comes in a little tub and I believe is SPF 30. It evens out skin tone, protects, and makes a great shadow base. The tub is huge, and you only need a little bit, so it will last forever.
Omg Emily! Seriously....maybe that's why I am having new issues w my makeup regimen. I changed up everything when I turned 40 (and noticed the new wrinkles) but I have always worn frosted shadows. Any suggestions on a good matte shadow to try??
I think a slightly frosted eyeshadow can still be used, perhaps in the center of the eyelid, but definitely NOT all over, or in multiple shades on the eyelid.
I REALLY REALLY love this anti aging video.. it reflects the opinions I've arrived at myself over the years (now 53), and these tips really do make a difference. Thanks for sharing! PS I might possibly add to tone down colour on eyes, take it easy with liners and thick black mascaras, an enhanced natural look is the goal for me. Also always tint lips a little in a realistic rosy nude, because lips pale with age as well as lose fullness. 💖
Thank you, Rachel. I think makeup choices are a personal decision and nothing should be off limits just based on a number. You should wear what makes you feel your best. xo
Love your tips! Thanks! One tip from me as a make-up artist/hairstylist: use a browpowder with a cool brown tone, that looks better with your haircollor ;)
Thanks for these tips. You look great, even when sick :) Castor oil had a miraculous effect on my lashes and brows - I couldn't believe it. Just a nightly application with my finger; some people use a clean mascara wand to apply it. I noticed a huge difference within a week. I had resigned to having short blonde invisible lashes for the rest of my life, and then complimented my friend on her amazing eyelashes, and she shared her secret :)
Love your videos!! I use charcoal toothpaste followed by my regular toothpaste just to cover my fluoride bases, and it works wonders! I’ve gotten so many compliments on my white teeth. Keep up the wonderful tips...and have a Merry Christmas!!
I’m in my near mid forty’s and am of British decent. I have ALWAYS had pale skin with a lot of what looks like rosacea on cheeks and chin like you. I now am getting the veins like you talked about. For 6 months, I ate a raw vegan diet and my rosacea almost disappeared! But unfortunately, I do not keep up with that diet so I love your tips!
Elizabeth Grant serums are the best hydrators hands down!....sea kelp bioferment grows hair and makes eyebrows grow back in and lashes grow thicker and longer
Zinc and Biotin really help with thickening and lengthening of the hair. Added bonus is great skin and nails. I get compliments all of the time on my skin and hair
I adore you! But you look MUCH younger without makeup. Especially without that whitening product on your lid and in the corner of the eye. That ages you.
I love these tips. Since turning 35 I have noticed some changes in my skin and my usual makeup routine hasn’t been working. I think I’ll try a CC cream and see how I like it.
Yes we from the Caribbean grew up on castor oil, for the body and our hair. Also the thin lines on the lips as black folks we don’t have that problem....maybe in our eighties lol. I’m 54 and so are my friends and no such problems, some are in their sixties. I do love your channel, you have taught me so much...and you are very beautiful by the way, and you are doing a great job.
I just wanted to add some comments on what to moisturizing my face. I have found that raw honey mixed with extra virgin olive oil makes my skin moist and glow. I use it to exfoliate my skin three times a week. I could tell the differences on how soft it felt just after my first use. I have used for quite awhile and have been getting a lot of compliments from friends and family on how my youthful skin looks. Thanks so much for making the video. By the way, you look amazing for your age.
I use the bumble and bumble thickening hairspray. It truly is the best stuff around. Recently I've started over lining my top lips because I noticed you do it. It's solved that problem! As always, I love your videos and that shirt you're wearing is so edgy and cool.
So stoked! Just started watching you this afternoon. I’m hooked!! You are amazing!! I’ve watched at least 10 “episodes” so far! You have such an array of great advice. Thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge! Hope you and your family are healthy and safe; especially during the scary struggles that we are ALL facing these days.....COVID-19 & all of the other crazy turmoil. Again, thank you!, Moni 🥰
You are GORGEOUS! Love your tips. I recently turned 51 and am just starting to need these tips. Aging in hard for me. I used to be cute in my 20, 30 & even early 40. But now, not so much.
I hear you. It’s very difficult. I was considered attractive and very attractive when fixed up. Had a great body. Now going on 53, it’s really hit in the last year. I lost like thirty pounds in a matter of a couple months and that was like the clincher. Also a smoker and was a heavy drinker. Man I was carded until my mid to late thirties. Always very youthful looking. Having an extremely hard time. A good thing I don’t have money. Definitely going to start going to the gym now that I have housing. That’s another thing, I was homeless in my late forties for a few years. Rough all around. And I k ow I am not as bad as I make it sound but just so depressing. Funny part is I was never what you would call vain. In the least
Oh and btw Susan B you are still very cute. Your an attractive lady. It’s just aging is really hard on some. I totally get it. And others just don’t want to admit. And some do embrace it. Good for them. Because I don’t. And I can’t. It’s extremely depressing for me. Not a laughing matter for some. Oh well. I think I will get fixed up tonight and see if I still have what it takes. I will probably be sorely disappointed. Wish me luck lol
Hello Erin from another mountain girl struggling with an incredibly dry climate! Thank you SO much for all your style tips and for this video on things to help you look younger. May I add to this tip list by encouraging everyone to wear wide brim hats when outside for any length of time? There are cute and stylish hats out there and you cannot rely on sunscreen alone. Maybe you can do a video on cute hats for all occasions to protect our faces especially in the summer. :) I not only live in the mountains, but also on a lake and in the summer I'm constantly out on our boat, on a stand up paddle board, hiking, gardening and more and always in a hat of some kind and a light coverup. It can be a pain to grab one all the time, but it's so important. (I'm looking at my picture here and have to say that I don't wear my cowboy hats any longer, because they didn't protect my lower cheeks. Go big and floppy or pay the price!) One more thing--I have been dreaming about splurging on a pair of jeans you have featured a few times, the Moussy Vintage MV Kelly tapered, but have been hesitating because they are soooo expensive and I also want to know if they are true to size. (I think you and I wear the same size.) Thanks again for all of your hard work and Merry Christmas!! --Amy
Thank you for this great video! The Physicians Formula Plumping Cocktail lip gloss, which has been around forever, is better than any high end product I’ve tried and doesn’t make your lips sting or burn. It’s great for plumping but also extremely hydrating as a night lip mask!
Erin-I agree, the syringes from the dentist work best. I get a higher percentage and only wear them for 30 minutes at a time. I don’t know if I would want that stuff in my mouth overnight??😬. The pack of 4 bleaching syringes lasts about 6 months and it comes with a sensitivity syringe that closes your nerve endings and helps with sensitivity post-whitening (you have to ask for it though because it doesn’t fit in the 4-pack). And now the whitening syringes come in melon flavor...and it’s not half bad😁
Great tips! Living in cold dry climate is tough on dry skin, but after I started using Whamisa, and the Korean skincare routine, my skin is so much better. I think it’s available in USA too.
I live also in dry clima in winter but Nutritive fom la roche poday gives me miracles. In summer is the opposite very hot and humid any suggestions for something light;
Just accidentally stumbled across your UA-cam channel. I get the feeling we may live in a similar area if not the same area - high altitude and ridiculously dry! I've been fighting so hard with dry crunchy hair and dry skin. I'm most certainly going to try the hair products you suggested. Your hair looks beautiful and well cared for! You have a new follower 💕
I totally agree about the sunscreen, better yet, stay out of the sun or don’t sun bathe to excess. I know it feels good, but so many girls my age (36) are showing leathery skin, wrinkles, sunspots, and generally looking old for mid 30s. I’m pale but for the most part wrinkle free. Paula’s choice has some great daily sunscreens with skincare in them. And a little sunless tanner in the warmer months takes the winter pale away!
Great! I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m transitioning out of cancer treatments. I finished radiation so now transitioning into a new me. I’m very interested in your help. Xoxoxo thank you. I can see you have a beautiful spirit Inside n out. Thanks for being you
Thanks for the tips, Erin! I’m 57, & a daily scoop of collagen, plus eating 100grams of protein daily made my hair thicker and longer!
Me too collagen and hyaluronic acid tablets
And biotin
I found a serum that has literally saved my hair. Brand is called straight ahead and it's called revitalizing Moroccan hair serum w argan oil. Use on dry hair or wet. Amazing. My hair has grown 1.9 inches in 8 wks...
The nails look great!🌹
I used to look good in dark eye makeup.
Coming with lifestyle tips!
You look amazing
I highly recommend sunscreen on hands especially if drive a lot. I use the neutrogena helioplex. Great tips. Ty
Yes, always great to draw attention to your beautiful face!
Pearls add light too!
Pearls are to old ladyish lol
@@debbiepotter4592 Nope,

A white shirt helps brighten up a face too .
Yes! Oil pulling is great for teeth whitening. Sounds really weird but it really works.
Linda Grace, I agree, I have been pulling for about 3 years and my dentist even noticed the difference. Not just in brightness but also in the part between gums and teeth where I would get build up, I no longer do.
Only difference is I pull before brushing, using solid coconut oil.
Um, how does coconut oil whiten your teeth? What is in it that could possibly whiten them??
Delphi333 mm
I'm sorry I don't use retinol so not sure - I think if a retinoid is taken internally it can cause general dryness as is inhibits oil production - (like Accutane) but I don't know about externally.
@@nataliew6829 Wear sunscreen like your life depends on it.
I absolutely believe that too! When you feel you look good on the outside then you feel good on the inside. Great tips and I love your hair! xoxo
I love beauty by Annemarie too! I just watched one of your videos you are awesome too!
@@victoriaoshea4865 Thank you so much!!! xoxo
I'm so happy to be with such a beautiful woman that receives attention!"
Or perhaps he's a little insecure. Or both.
My X told me the reason he would never compliment me (& in fact, put me down in sly ways) was because he was afraid I would get a big head & leave him. He was also used to getting all the attention, & suddenly it was " Did you see Mr. J's wife?"
This was in our early 20's.

Thanks.
Thank you for these tips. Really apologize for the people making unkind comments. You are a beauty.
Thank you so much! ~Erin xo
I enjoyed the video! I also am 44 this year. I've come to the conclusion that I can't get away with "looking 10 years younger," much anymore. But the new goal is just trying to " not look old."' hehe
And I have to agree with a lot of other comments that you look much younger with less makeup.
Rosa Sacco I don’t like the natural hippie aged look. I think a little self care makes me look polished and classy and mature
WOW! I LOVEEEEE WHAT YOU SAID...😘😘😘
Ciarrroscurrr
Agree. Why are women constantly reminded that they are not perfect? Age healthily, not superficially.
I have heard so many good things about fasting :) I started doing some after the holidays . So far so good:)
You already look amazing! By the way, my experience is that drink some green tea would also keep skin healthier and younger. Hope it helps.
I love green tea Jessica and drink it every day! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much! Staying strong is so important as we age. xo
This is based on science, not opinion
All dermatologists teach this on Moisturisimg.
Just what I was thinking x
It’s just on video. They look totally normal and not orange in person. 🤦🏼♀️
@@96dawnify It's the way it reads on video. Not at all that color in person. Not sure why that happens...
2424hvl Redheads have to deal with the too much warm situation .
That’s coming with the lifestyle tips! Thanks so much!
Karen Davis how many pints a day do you recommend?
You look so much younger without any make-up on. Stunning xx
Thanks, Dawn... most days I wear VERY little makeup if any at all. But I don't want to scare you all so I wear it on camera. ;) Erin xo
By the way, I have to say Erin, you look stunning without make up (for any age)!!! oxox
I totally agree! And thank you!! ~Erin xo
I'm 40 and I love these tips. I've felt they are all areas of focus to look younger. Thanks for sharing my thoughts!
Castor oil works amazing and is a major ingredient in most lash and brow serums. I’ve used it for years
I agree 100% I am 51 I start using it 6 months ago amazing results. Eyelashes perfect eye brows thick again.
Very cheap but awsom.
Thank you for mentioning this. I didn't know this was a in those products.
Thank you
You are so welcome, Jacqueline! xo

I'm SO glad you found this video helpful, Deborah! Thank you for watching! xo
Lol.
Yay!! I’m SOOOOOO happy we have a castor oil testimonial! Thank you for sharing! You are our beauty angel. 👼🏻
I’ve been doing the castor oil thing too. Walking around at bedtime with oily eyebrows and eyelid areas. Lol. I figured it’s worth a shot.
@@BusbeeStyle 😊 my pleasure💫💃
Eva Ackermann-Gerber Organic definition: 1. Relating to or derived from living matter 2. (Of food or farming methods) produced or involving production without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents. And yes, there is organic castor oil.
I tried this with castor oil for my slim lashes but after 10 days, at 61 had my first clogged oil gland/stye like red large lump on my upper lid. It took 3 weeks to go away!!! Using this be ware, it can clog your eye lid pores!!@@BusbeeStyle
You remind me of the actress Heather Graham. Love these tips. Thanks so much.
Thank you, Sharon! I'm glad that you found this video helpful and thank you for the suggestion for the neck and chest cream. xo
Great ideas, thanks! I have blond eyebrows, and at 53, started getting them dyed at the Ulta Bar. It make such a difference!
Agreed!!! 👍🏻
Lorraine does the dye last though. I read somewhere after she washed her face the dye cane out
Great tips...wow you look 5 to 7 years younger without make up! Beautiful!
I think she looks younger without all the make up, too. I'm 58 and wear very minimal. Sunscreen, a couple touch ups and mascara are all I wear these days.
Thanks hunny, I'm 40 in November, and these tips are helpful. I am using your tips. I am growing my hair thick again, it's taking awhile but I'm sure it will get there👍
They make up tips are suitable for my skin. I am going to invest in some good skin care as well. I have combination skin and want to begin a new skin care routine. I was once a beauty therapist years ago and I find I come back to my roots at this age. Thanks for the positivity for us women and mother's. 🌈🌻
Absolutely! Thank you for watching! xo
Glad to see you feeling better, And yes the dry air of Colorado really does require special
strategIes for staying hydrated.
The brow gel really made a difference! Thanks for sharing 💕💕💕
You bet! Thank YOU for watching!! Erin xo
You look like a beautiful Cheryl Ladd from Charlie's Angels, great video!
Was she in Charlie's angels?
Excellent tips! While I have heard or read most of them in other places, you have encapsulated and demonstrated very clearly what the information means. That is so important, because sometimes what we see in our mind's eye is very different than what the information looks like. I will be looking for more information and tips from you, from now on. I am now a subscriber!
That is so awesome. Thank you, Sandra! Happy to have you as a sub. Erin xo
Have you ever tried Nuxe oil. its great mixed with BB moisturizer and on your hair. You can use it as a highlighter alsol
Being almost 50 I can use all the tips I can get...Thank you💄💅💃💗
Thank you for being here! ~Erin xo
Great tips Erin. Even if I wear a BB or CC cream with SPF, I still use a base layer of sunscreen. It's also important to keep your hands and cuticles moisturized and well manicured because dry, wrinkled hands are very aging.
Agreed! Great tips! ~Erin xo
cwm53 yes always have manicured polished nails and regular trims at the hairdressers.
Thanks for sharing, Kathy! xo
Another tip: avoid frosted eyeshadow!
Omg Emily! Seriously....maybe that's why I am having new issues w my makeup regimen. I changed up everything when I turned 40 (and noticed the new wrinkles) but I have always worn frosted shadows. Any suggestions on a good matte shadow to try??
I was thinking that the entire video. I thought she looked 10 years younger without her makeup!
I think a slightly frosted eyeshadow can still be used, perhaps in the center of the eyelid, but definitely NOT all over, or in multiple shades on the eyelid.
@@Ms.GreenJeans // I agree with Sandra here. Only on the bottom middle and just a small bit.
@@Donna-vh5ym thanks so much. I switched to using some just in the corner and a little in the center lid. BIG difference. TY all so much.
Thx great pointers !!! I’m 44 and I’m aware of my skin aging-I’m gonna try ur tips! Thx
I'm so glad that you found this helpful, Carmela! xo
Thanks! One tip from me as a make-up artist/hairstylist: use a browpowder with a cool brown tone, that looks better with your haircollor ;)
i am using the essence of argan oil and the idrotherapy and i dropped 10 years from my age .. i am very happy with the results
I am 19 but this was still a really good reminder about sunscreen, be nice to the eyebrows, hair and skin.
Love your videos!!!!!
Thank you, Hannah! xo

The Tiger Grass doesn't seem to be available any more. What are you using now?
I agree! When you look your best, you feel your best, and you DO your best. xo
So true! xo
Thank you so much! ~Erin xo
Love your videos!! I use charcoal toothpaste followed by my regular toothpaste just to cover my fluoride bases, and it works wonders! I’ve gotten so many compliments on my white teeth. Keep up the wonderful tips...and have a Merry Christmas!!
Great tips!! ~Erin xo
Laurie Hackler I’m going to try that. Tati said her dentist said charcoal was not good for the teeth but it must be.
I'm glad that you found my tips helpful! xo
Elizabeth Grant serums are the best hydrators hands down!....sea kelp bioferment grows hair and makes eyebrows grow back in and lashes grow thicker and longer
Thank you for sharing your recommendations with me. xo
Yeah. That frost just settles in the fine lines.
I thought the same
Ana Maria Florea agree
I agree. The frosty eye shadow with black eyeliner/mascara is too harsh
I love these tips. Since turning 35 I have noticed some changes in my skin and my usual makeup routine hasn’t been working. I think I’ll try a CC cream and see how I like it.
let me know what you think! ~Erin xo
Do you recommend a good under eye cream to help with bags?? Plus, a good facial lotion? Thanks
Linda Zimmer Coffee Cream it is a mask, helps with color and bag. www.crismetic.com
My hair is thick. A great blessing......its zilver. Natural.......love and I’m thankful for that.....

Mitzy Morris , I appreciate you more than you can know! Thank you for watching! ~Erin xo
Great tips, thank you!! ~Erin xo
I use the bumble and bumble thickening hairspray. It truly is the best stuff around. Recently I've started over lining my top lips because I noticed you do it. It's solved that problem! As always, I love your videos and that shirt you're wearing is so edgy and cool.
Thank you! Isn’t that spray SO good?? You just have to go easy on it. Thanks for sharing!!
So stoked! Just started watching you this afternoon. I’m hooked!! You are amazing!! I’ve watched at least 10 “episodes” so far! You have such an array of great advice. Thank you so much, Moni! Glad that you are enjoying my videos! xo
her hair and make up in the beginning are just good ie. style and colour.
You are GORGEOUS! Love your tips. I recently turned 51 and am just starting to need these tips. Aging in hard for me. I used to be cute in my 20, 30 & even early 40. But now, not so much.
Aww thank you! ~Erin xo
Debbie Potter don’t be depressed. We are closer to heaven than young people. Just try and look good for your age , that’s all you can do.
Love your makeup brush - what brand and model is it? TY
What spf are you using again? Tnx
--Amy
Yes! Hats are not only stylish but also help to protect from the sun, thank you! ~Erin xo
Thank you for this great video! The Physicians Formula Plumping Cocktail lip gloss, which has been around forever, is better than any high end product I’ve tried and doesn’t make your lips sting or burn. It’s great for plumping but also extremely hydrating as a night lip mask!
Thank you, Stephanie! Love that suggestion! xo
Seriously. This video actually is an example of not wearing so much frosting. You look really young without it all. Gorgeous.
Erin- another awesome video. Please share the information on the pink lipstick you are wearing in the intro.
Karen Fulton opalescence- 35%! Hope that helps!!
Great tips! Living in cold dry climate is tough on dry skin, but after I started using Whamisa, and the Korean skincare routine, my skin is so much better. I think it’s available in USA too.
I live also in dry clima in winter but Nutritive fom la roche poday gives me miracles.
In summer is the opposite very hot and humid any suggestions for something light;
Using a product with retinol in it is excellent
Yes, Marritta! Retinol products are fantastic.
Your simply stunning my dear. Simply Stunning!

What may I ask was the blush palette you used ? love your tips.
Just curious before I try it- Do you think the apple cider vinegar would do anything to my blonde highlights?
Just accidentally stumbled across your UA-cam channel. I get the feeling we may live in a similar area if not the same area - high altitude and ridiculously dry! I've been fighting so hard with dry crunchy hair and dry skin. I'm most certainly going to try the hair products you suggested. Your hair looks beautiful and well cared for! You have a new follower 💕
Aw. Thanks, Chelsea! Where are you living? I’m in Telluride, CO
I think it's great to list the prices. Very helpful
Glad to hear it! Erin xo
Great tips! Thank you!!
