1:02 I don't think I ever saw the mayor in another episode of Gilmore Girls after this one. What happened, did he disagree with Taylor on some small, insignificant point of order in the town bylaws and the latter had him executed?
Yep, me. It's snowing like crazy over where I'm at and that's just as awful for me as the quarantine. I don't even have extra winter gear and just stay indoors all day watching this
My favorite is also when Luke and Taylor are arguing in the streets and Loriel and Rory just happened to be walking with bon bons. Loriel stops Rory, they stare and Loriel hands over the bonbons. Boom! They have fulfilled a classic request!
@CantStayAway I have to go with the town meetings. While Friday Night Dinners can be side-splittingly funny, there is also the occasional dramatic moment to balance things out. The town meetings are unapologetically silly every time.
why are Rory, Dean, Lane, and sometimes jess the only kids in the town meeting. This shows that it's not necessary for kids. Don't they have anything better to do than spend their night listening to Taylor?
@Shular67 - Very true, very true...but what about that one town meeting in...season 3, I believe, "A Tale of Poes and Fire", I think that's the episode title? Lindsay and Luke's girlfriend (forget her name, but she's the one he marries on the cruise ship later on) act sort of icey toward Rory and Lorelai, that's slightly dramatic, isn't it?
"they got stood up. they should have been wearing prom dresses."
The writers for this show were amazing.
I agree
Yesss
Yes they were
Yep
"There is no use for a lava lamp, unless you're on drugs." The most brilliant thing I have ever heard Taylor say.
“Have any of you ever considered the fact that you're glorifying a war we fought so we could keep land that we stole?”
Right on, Luke!
i love how the girls are already laughing when the mayor starts talking and when luke finally starts talking 😂😂

"there is no use for a lava lamp unless you're on drugs"
Well then buy me some marijuana because I own a lava lamp!
"There is no USSR, Harry."
"There is, and they stand in line there. It is a known FACT."
Bwahaha I just heard that last line for the first time
"And the urge wins by a long shot!"
LOL
My favorite part!
He’s Fighting The Urge, He’s Fighting The Urge.
And the urge wins by a long shot!
the first and only time there was a Mayor. Taylor had him eliminated and used as fertilizer for his personal garden.
When Luke did what he was doing in his seat and starts yelling all I was thinking was and we have lift off.
there will never be another show like this!
it doesn't get better than this show
"They should have been wearing prom dresses." Classic
i think this is one of the funniest scenes of season 1.
"they got stood up. they should have been wearing prom dresses." lol
That was funny, had me rolling
"Stand in line for toilet paper" thought he was gonna say in the USA 😂 anyone else here during quarantine?
Alina Slant so many truth drops in this segment! Truth in movies not on the news...it’s in their contracts.

I looked up “Luke town meeting Gilmore girls” and found exactly what I wanted
"there's no use for a lava lamp unless you're on drugs" - nuff said.
one of the best and funniest scenes =)

I've always loved this scene.
List is on my list of favourite scenes. To be fair... it's a very long list. The show was just THAT awesome!!!
Daddy's getting angry
Town meeting easily!! All those town crazies take it hands down.
Stand in line for toilet paper. Truly ahead of its time
@CantStayAway I have to go with the town meetings. While Friday Night Dinners can be side-splittingly funny, there is also the occasional dramatic moment to balance things out. The town meetings are unapologetically silly every time.
"There is no more USSR, Harry."
this is the most ppl ive ever seen at the town meetings
If only real town meetings were like this :)
One of my favorite episodes 😄❤️☕🧢👏👏👏👏👏
I love the town meetings. Lol 😂
i miss thiss show!!
i love this show !
Feels like they would have Salem witch trial in there
your father was a re-enacter!!!
THERE IS NO USE FOR A LAVA LAMP UNLESS YOU'RE ON DRUGS !!!!!!
“I am all in with Scott Patterson” brought me here
Here's a debate for ya: Which are funnier, the town meetings or the Friday Night Dinners?:P
I think that is a 50/50 argument. I can't decide...
I think there are some Friday Night Dinners that are hilarious and any Town Meeting where Luke speaks up.
Town meetings by far... taylor luke comedy gold

"Oh Luke... yes... SIT DOWN!" 😂😂
That standing in line for toilet paper comment did not age well. :') Apparently it can happen in America, too.
If the 1 disliker here doesn't like this vid..he can wait in like for toilet paper at the U.S.S.R!
Is it considered a battle if no one actually fights?
There are black people?!

its funny this is the only time that they have a mayor who isn;t taylor except when jackson runs
Where did the mayor go? Did he die?
Taylor probably grabbed him and threw him into the pit in his basement to grant himself, supreme ruler of the town,
Why do i feel like if something happend to taylor Luke would be the main suspect !!!!!!!!
Taylor = Dwight Schrute
