To Our Friend, Steve 'Steamin' Clark
Everytime I hear this song I think of Steve Clark and the issues he fought in his last days. I also remember watching MTV and remembering the news break when they announced that Steve died. That really tore at me, because ever since I was 5 years old (1983) I have loved Def Leppard. Tesla really wrote one hell of a tribute to Steve and the lyrics tell how much they admired him.
I feel the same every time I hear this song, when he died I was 14 years old and I was deeply sad for about two weeks and I couln't believe that something like that could happen to someon like him, he had a great talent and magic to play guitar and make music.
Such an underrated band one of the best vocals of this era you could see when they would play Live he put his soul every ounce of energy into his performance today's music fucking sucks it's depressing that will never have music like this again

just saw them for the fourth time last summer. Jeff's vocals were still amazing. The rest of the band a little older and fatter but still rocking it for the fans!

Saw them three days ago and was impressed. Yes his voice has aged some but the music was played exceptionally. Standing room only and the band really genuinely loved the crowd.
It sucks takes 4:43 the loss of such a kind soul like Steve and to write and perform a songs like this must have had some really tough moments for tesla my love for this band that is willing to take the time to pay tribute to their friend and compose it in such a way that the vocals and the music compliment each other so well that it almost makes you feel as if you can feel Steve's pain and suffering and also feel the bands need to tell their side of the story im no one to the world but im someone to music and mark my words if music doesn't come back to this kind of respect and musicianship all is lost this is how your soul should feel every time you listen to a song i just know in my heart it is thank you tesla for being that band.

What a great song. Started watching old clips and music when he was here and it feels like I'm heartbroken all over again. He was an absolute angel. Quiet fragility, but he played as a beast. This song captures him. He still lives on in all of us who love, admire and cherish his life. RIP Angel Steve ❤
Never reached the level of popularity of bands like Metallica, but I still consider them one of the best metal bands out of that time.

Me too brother. My first guitar was a black and bone (off white) Les Paul copy. So Def Leppard on the Pyromania tour 1983. I was 15. My first all nighter, (car broke down), first time getting drunk and sick. Best of times!! 🤟🤟

[short story] During those times I slept where I could . I carried my acoustic with me everywhere . To the soup kitchen , the steps of the library , to the park bench and at night to whatever apartment complex laundry room that wasn't being used or locked up . Didn't have a guitar case , didn't have a strap , didn't care it was coming with me , and I hammered out the details to this song and many more Tesla songs . This song and that guitar saw me through hell and back (with my sanity intact) . Song and Emotion . Beautiful ,
