Sorry but why the heck must you bring 'west' in every freakin thing ? As a fellow asian im very embarassed. Its like we put them in the spotlight and make them the 'standard' of everything. Putting down others to make you feel superior is not 'western thing' now its 'chinese thing'. as far as i know all these mainland cities from china that are now days very developed, they had to kinda copy and paste the economic policy and market from hong kong because at te time the development and power purshase between hk and those places were gigantic with hk being much more rich and developed. Now days mainland cities in CN are even more developed than hk. But the original idea came from hk that was very influenced by western culture.
It's amazing how much progress Shenzhen has made in just the past 40 years. From a little fishing town to one of the prettiest cities I've ever seen.
