- Brandon Tsay was given a Citizen Honors award for wrestling a gun away from a mass shooter at his family's dance studio last year. Recipients of the award are chosen by the living Medal of Honor recipients.

One person stopped a mass shooter and the entire police depart of Uvalde couldn't even stop one
Ong Uvalde police system has a history of corruption
Yup, and they cry in NYC over one of their own, but let kids die.
@@sailingwiththegods538 That was one out of the almost daily mass shooting occurrences......
@@sailingwiththegods538 goes to show how little effort they put into protecting non-cops but will pull so many strings, with the help of their police unions, to protect their fellow officers from facing consequences.
@@violethighley5978 Mass shootings do not happen daily. Statistics that say that count things like gang on gang violence and domestic violence mass shootings. Some of those sources even consider the Alec Baldwin incident a mass shooting.
Wow, I never knew that the recipients of these awards were chosen by Medal of Honor recipients; makes it an even more distinguished honor.
This has always been a thing for most major awards, people just don't know about it.
Oscars, Grammy, Nobel, Tony all nominees and winners are chosen by people within the industry, most of which are former winners. Because the idea is to have people who know what it takes to become to see who should qualify to win. If it was given chosen by the public, it would be just a popularity contest, people who won are gonna usually pick who's worth it.
two year old story

As not funny is it. Thats pretty funny. And I’m sure some DA in California is just itching to restore the suspects rights… AOC and the crew as well.

I love that the Medal of Honor society is doing this honor for civilian valor.
He really brought the courage and saved so many lives that night. I know he never asked for any of this but he deserves the honor
Honoring an honorable man. Congratulations to you, Mr. Tsay and thank you for your humbling civilian service. 💜

Cliche as it sounds to quote a TV show, this was once said in Chicago Fire:
"Heroes are not somebody who was unafraid. It’s the guy that is scared to death and does what’s right anyway."
Sometimes we never realise the brave side of ourselves. It lays dormant until we witness something so egregious that would put life in danger that this bravery comes out. Hats off to those who jump into action with blatant disregard for their own safety for the sake of others.
I think I've seen this quote somewhere before
What a sweet guy. Hope we can all be lucky enough to have people with hearts of gold like him in our communities.
I remember this. Glad America honored him. Thank you Bradon Tsay for your bravery.

Just ignore the Kards. Do NOT even mention them.
First time I even heard about this and I consider myself a media hog.

@0:50 You don't have to have a uniform to serve the country. What a great statement that every citizen of every country should understand and follow!
Gold work Brandon, you’re a real working class hero and I respect you.

An incredible man... Thank you so much sir 🎊 🎁. Please treat everyone with respect and kindness
Well not the people carrying out these horrific crimes
@@drowe2 I mean before they commit them. Even then, I am beginning to think everyone is worthy of that. I know he did something awful, but I often wonder what these people experienced before they snapped. Hu Can Tran killed people, but he was still a struggling human who did something terrible. He handled it all wrong but I can empathize with a struggling human.

i had no idea non-military people could earn the medal of honor. pretty cool.
It's amazing how some people csn just step up when the time comes. AWESOME JOB, CITIZEN!
❤ the definition of a true hero! Given by heroes, who recognize the bravery of others in the face of danger. Well done and well said Brandon
but girls hated brandon cauz hes asian tho
You are an amazing human being, sir. Bless you.
I love this young man!
Remember this simple fact. There's strength in numbers.
Covid
I just realized that there is no better group of people to choose the recipients. Average Americans can hypothesize what true bravery feels or looks like. But those that took the extra steps to act on their feelings of wanting to help in extremely dangerous situations, are the only ones that actually know the strength required to go against your instinctual fears.
Now this is the stuff we need to honor
Yes! I wish we as Americans would put aside all of the petty political BS and just remember we're supposed to be fellow country men and women and work together again.
Nice to see Asian love again after the traumatizing hate after Covid
It's funny how the people who deny covid blamed Asians for Covid. Republicans.
Sad that he had to do this

Strangely enough, no cops would ever get this award, yet they think they should.

This should be getting more attention.
Get this man a shield
"you don't have to wear a uniform to serve this country" powerful words that are probably quickly overlooked by most.
"How did you muster the courage to prevent a mass shooting?"
"Well, it took a lot of self control."
You got the highest award I'm jealous
🙏
Also notice how he didn't even need a weapon to stop the shooter. Remind anyone buying a gun for the "protection", of this video.
if he stopped the shooter with a personal weapon, he would be in jail
Dude is a great American. A great human. Balls the size of planets.
Not all heroes wear capes

Now put racism aside and instead bring love and unity forward. We can’t choose our color but we can choose our actions.
Racism is all in your head. It's a beautiful world out here
What happed to the guy that he wrestled the gun away from?
He was pulled over by police the following morning, and dis-alived himself as officers approached his van.
he committed suicide if i remember correctly.
What about Keanon Lowe?! Highschool coach stopped shooter with a hug??
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Yet others that have done the same get lawsuits filed against them and lose. Fix our legal system ffs.
ATTENTION TO ALL CONCEALED CARRY: Watch this video. If you were all hopped up with adrenaline, and you saw our hero AFTER hes holdingthe weapon he disarmed and is being attacked, quick..what would you think? So, if you're thinking you might have shot the wrong person, make sure you study this hard... breathe and identify your targets before you just go in, hopped up off adrenaline, not thinking and shooting.
Good point. We all must take lessons from making hypotheticals from real events. Shoot first, ask questions later is never the right strategy. Switzerland has similar amounts of gun ownership to the US yet they don't have our problems. We need to fix our culture first.
No Heart of America segment for Elisjsha Dicken?

Eli dickens. To run into the fight and to train so well to save others. Why isn't he mentioned?
probably because he used a firearm. you know cuz the media always says "gunz bad"

Who’s Joji?
What is a soldier but a citizen in uniform.
Maybe he would become a great policeman.
But Elijah Dickens who stopped a shooter in a mall didn't get anything.
There's legal gun-owners who stop potential mass-shooters _all the time._ It's weird how they never get recognized, at least on a mainstream or national level. Independent media needs to start recognizing and promoting those people more.
It takes a different volume of balls to bring your hands to a gun fight
Hey Bubba did you know that more Americans have been killed BY Americans in AMERICA than ALL the Americans killed in ALL the foreign wars combined that Americans have fought in,mainly thanks to the second amendment, .
Those people are heroes too, but this is very much like the Medal of Honor doesn’t go to every soldier that sees combat or even every soldier that does extraordinary things.
Where’s Elysia Dickens award?
Oh wait, it doesn’t fit the lefts narrative so he doesn’t get one.
Any gun fanatics notice that this guy was UNARMED?
The mere fact that this was the situation makes it a case to disarm POTENTAIL threats IF not necessarily everyone!
Lmao right ...stay in school bro...stay in school
One case this year, against dozens of legally armed citizens who stopped mass shooters and didn't get recognized because it's common. So much so there's been multiple different online databases of them over the years to draw attention. Just doesn't make the news.

Gun owners stop mass shooters all the time, its just ignored in MSM
@@P.90.603 this comment reeks of cope. This is really all im permitted by YT to say as my last comment got automatically deleted despite there being zero insults, swear words or condescension
@@trolltalwar And again, most people don't really defend themselves with guns. They rare stop mass shootings, robberies, or prevent kidnappings. Majority of the defending is usually a result of their own doing. For example, my gun owning friend has a gun because he sleeps with other men's wives. A-holes buy guns because they go around pissing people off.
Bout time they passed some honors down to civilians. Instead of having to play dress up to get anything.
This is an insane story. Think about it...he's a hero because our government is inept when it comes to gun control and half the country believes owning a semiautomatic firearm is necessary. Our media does reports like this, normalizing the problem with guns in our country, normalizing violence, normalizing the "hero/villain" complex, and ultimately normalizing and contributing to a failing system.
