I love this guy!!! He’s polished and gets to the point of his videos. ❤
Great videos, I have a new touch and have learnt a lot from your videos.
Could you do a video on a flat white please.
thank you for your amazing tutorials! learning so much about my machine.
Great tips, thanks!
Thank you very much for watching. I am working on another tips video now. It should be up in a week or two. Have a great day!
Thanks for the video.
Is your machine also loud?
To warm portafilter and coffee cup I run a brew through an empty portafilter into my cup for about 8secs. This warms the portafilter and cup.
that little scale is adorable - almost like it belongs with the machine
Well worth the investment! I think it is $12 on Amazon. There should be a link in the description. The Acai scales that are the same size are $200!!
Hi, great videos. Do you still dose just put ~20g into grinder for each shot rather than keeping hopper topped up full?
Actually, I don't anymore because when the tamp fan didn't detect enough pressure to complete the tamp, it would just keep spinning and then I would have to manually stop it, ending up with an inconsistent tamp and a bad shot. That happened frequently because the doses I normally get with a half full hopper are often just above 20g (20.1, 20.2 etc), but not exactly 20g. If your tamp fan is calibrated for around 20g and you put 20.5g or 21g, it should work fine. Then you end up with minimal left overs in your hopper. But if you put any amount that the tamp fan think is too low, it will just keep spinning... and I think it never completes the tamp.
@@CoffeeWiser very interesting. I have an Oracle (non-touch) on order and just doing some research. I'll be in touch.
Congrats on your new machine! That is so exciting! I hope the videos will be useful. Have a great day.
Could you provide a link to the 2 scales you have?
Thank you for your question. I added the links for both scales in the video description, and also below:
- Large scale that fits the portafilter: amzn.to/3cX7KO2
- Small scale that fits under the group head: amzn.to/3ba4r4r
Have you tested the weight of the ground coffee when the hopper is full of beans and compared it to when the container is just about empty?
That is an excellent suggestion! I haven't specifically done that. Th only potential issue is that the grinder chute and tamp fan retains a good bit of grounds. Sometimes those grounds, specially the accumulation on the tamp fan, will fall off. This could skew the results. Maybe I will try to clean the tamp fan and grinder chute after each grind to get a more accurate measurement of dose when the hopper is full and when the hopper is empty.
@@CoffeeWiser I clean the fan almost after every other shot. I see a little residue but it really hasn't changed my dose much. 20g to 21g
Hi man, you still around? I just bought a Sage Oracle Touch. I'm a total newbie, should I use the 2 cup filter basekt at all time or the 1 cup filter basket? Sorry if dumb question.
No dumb questions? Use the double basket (the big one). The small one makes consistent shots very difficult.
Because there is only 4" clearance for a mug when pulling espresso, what is your opinions on transferring espresso to a larger mug when making a latte? Do you have any recommendations on the best way to transfer espresso keeping everything hot?
I personally use this: amzn.to/2LGKawe
I use it a few times per week to transfer the espresso to a travel mug so I can drink my latte on the road.
To keep everything hot, I also heat up the shot glass with hot water from the machine's hot water spout before brewing. Then I move it right away to the travel mug, I add the steamed milk, and seal it. It works well. I hope this helps!
@@CoffeeWiser As I'm brand new to this a a true neophyte .... it is a huge help. Thank you for the link on the glass. I ordered it from Amazon. That is going to work out perfectly for my purposes.
@@rich2785 I hope you love it! And thank you for watching the videos. Have a great day!
What are you you on about, it grinds until it is full, why would it else go of for a long time if it empties, and why would it recognize the single and double.
Everything good about this machine except the grinder
I love your videos. Clean, Simple, informative and without bullshit.
Thank you! I will try to keep just that way. Take care and be safe!
