Let's Play Snufkin Melody of Moomin Valley #04: Much Ado about the Groke

The only information Snufkin has on the location of Moomintroll is that he's been captured by the Groke. While this information came from Little My and thus should be taken with a barrel of salt, it's all we've got to go on and so we follow the trail of cold left in the wake of the Groke.
For many, the Groke looks like an intimidating monster. A creature without words, many would suspect that she's out to get them when they meet the enigmatic, frosty figure. Such presumptions often lead to misconceptions that spead like wildfire and are often undeserved.
Judge not by appearance, folks.

The Groke was always female for us in Poland, because they gave her a female-sounding name "Buka" (that's not a real name, btw). But the game refers to Groke as "she" too.

So, from the looks of it, this game is partially a Metroidvania, where you need new abilites (instruments) to progress and explore further, meaning at least the first quarter or so (basically until the first and maybe second instrument gets found), you're on a rather linear path.

Alas, the Groke. Perhaps the spectre of death always chasing you, perhaps she's less scary than she actually seems? She's misunderstood, that much is sure; as even a creature like her can see beauty in things.
