Ustad Rashid Khan is a legend that we never had before and won't have after him. He is next level. My most favourite. Wish the sound quality was better though.
I don't know what prompted the people to say that it is poorly recorded.At least as far as audio is considered it is EXCELLENT. This is the GREAT MARWA I have ever heard, created goosebumps on my body and filled tears automatically in the eyes. GREAT USTADJI....GREAT....
what a start of marwa,its quality of a living musical giant,so dont worry abut the performer on sarangi,just concentrate,i think he is just a biggnner,feel the waves of marwa sung by ustad jee,kiya kehnay,jeo ustad jee jeo.
Ustad Amir Khan sahab sang both "Piya more ananatadas" and "Guru bina gyan". Our ustadji has given it a Rampur-Sahaswan interpretation. Both interpretations are excellent representations of Marwa. I think that is little Armaan sitting behind his father. Indeed, the tabla is a bit loud for Rashidji and Jyotiji.
Tabaliya (Tabala player) is the second most important artist after the vocalist/lead musician! I can understand why the Sarangi accompanist takes over Harmonium because Sarangi is fully indigenous. Harmonium is western. However, I fail to understand why the due share is denied to 'tabaliya'.

This is not professional video and especially non professional audio, so one has to compromise, make your adjustments to accommodate the performance, With many thanks from Canada.
Either the video/audio recording is faulty or some other problem start of this concert is very shaky. Ustad started raag Marwa very nicely but I feel the sarangi accompaniment is very badly out of tune (Besura). This spoiled the performance seriously. I could not bear it more than about 5 minutes...that's how bad sarangi is. Sorry about that.
He has matured enough to tolerate the atyachar of the sarangi player with a smirk. Amidst this pathetic situation, it is only him who can sing a spectacular Saraswati. Probably his uncle would have left the stage or ask the sarangi as well as the sound tech to be kicked out. Kya kare janab, zamana hi aisa hai. Ustadji, we feel sorry for you.
Ustad Rajab Ali once told Maharaja of Rampur that boys of Ustad families just sing bandishes casually, it's absolutely natural for them to have SUR in their throat and ears. Armaan recently have proved it in TV live.

It appears that there is problem in recording and therefore the sarangi in particular comes BESURI.
