    Great review of places in Oceanside. I recently made a video about taking the train from Orange County to Oceanside for a day trip, but I might have to remake the video after seeing yours!

      Love that trip. Unfortunately they temporarily shut down that train due to some erosion issues alongside the tracks. Sucks, because one of the reasons I chose Oceanside is because of the easy access to Orange and LA County via train.

      Agreed, whole diff vibe too, more restaurants tho - and literally like my La Fitness is right in between both cities, I went to eat after the gym once didn’t even realize I was in Carlsbad! So you can be in Oceanside and still enjoy Carlsbad, diff ppl tho. Northern oside is def more low income families whereas south and west is filled with super cars and modern houses. I can go to one gym and it’ll have 3 Maseratis and another more north I walked out of for being so small and dirty. But there’s a lot of improvements happening in the area. H/L is my fav spot in oside, newly built, they just launched a pie shop at the top gun house next door. I love all the new builds in the area! Can’t wait to invest in some property here soon!

      @@Sura.bbyyyy definitely accurate. I will say though this is probably going to change in the next 10 years. And I think I can use my own story an example. My wife and I moved to Oceanside 6 months ago. We make $225k combined and really were only able to afford a house in NE O'side, the supposed "lower-income side." With how crazy real estate has gotten the past couple years only rich families are going to be able to afford to move anywhere in the city.
      You can look at it one or two ways - One, the poorer folks who got in a long time ago are going to make buku bucks on their sale. On the other hand, a lot of people's nostalgic neighborhoods will be gentrified.
      I mean, for those of us who are new to the area, that's a good thing. Raises real estate value, brings in more modern development.But I understand that this is a painful process for long-timers.

    Just moved here 6 months ago. A lot of locals complain that it doesn't have the same chill vibe that it used to, but if you don't have that point of comparison then you'll still get that feeling. The downtown and beach area are so much more accessible than South County, especially the popular beaches in San Diego proper. Totally can roll up whenever you want and easily find parking on all but the busiest tourist days.
    I live on 76 near the mission, so it's not quite as hip or developed out there, but still very accessible to the downtown area. I can even ride to the beach along the San Luis River trail in about 30 minutes. 5-10 mins by car.
    Please move here so my real estate value goes up :) Good vibes only, though, please.

      So cool! I’m super interested in moving to California from Texas and Oceanside really caught my eye. I’m very young, only just turning 21 this year and I want a big change in scenery.
      If you could, could you let me know how affordability for young people without degrees look there? I don’t have any connections to the state so I would have to look for small jobs like retail and customer service.
      Are their any problems or cons you have faced after moving there?

    • @mookfarr
      @mookfarr Рік тому +1

      @@johnnycove Affordability is going to be an issue anywhere along the California coast, especially when compared to Texas.
      That said, Oceanside is the most affordable beach town in Southern California. So compared to its neighbors it's relatively affordable.
      I guess it really comes down to your expectations. There's a lot more people sharing rooms/houses here than I imagine there are in Texas. Most young people don't have any hope of owning a home until they're in their 30s-40s.
      But, human happiness is mostly based on comparisons - so if everyone in your social circle is living crammed in apartments, then it won't feel so bad. You just accept it as normal.
      You have to ask yourself - What's more important: where you live or how much you own?
      As a young person, you probably need to experience a few more things before you can answer that question. So I would advise, sure, come out here and give it a shot. Maybe you like it, maybe you don't. But at least you can speak from experience now and choose wisely.

    • @mookfarr
      @mookfarr Рік тому +1

      @@a.h.5347 The 76 is the highway on the north side of Oceanside heading from downtown east to Temecula.
      The San Luis Rey Mission is about 5 miles inland on the 76.

    • @DanPBestLifeSD
      @DanPBestLifeSD  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Alex! Parking isn’t too bad. Close to downtown and by the water there is a lot of metered parking

    • @mookfarr
      @mookfarr Рік тому +1

      It depends what you're comparing it too, but yeah compared to South County, O'side beaches are definitely more accessible. Most days you can roll up to the beach and find parking without any issues. It only gets dicey during summer tourist season.

      @@DanPBestLifeSD I grew up in southern SD and in the past 10yrs it became so saturated, I drive down every other week or so now, but driving back to oceanside 40mins, I feel peace again the min im back in town, less traffic, less ppl, but nice relaxing ocean breeze and feels like home, not a tourist attraction. Its slower pace. IK it wont last though, this place will be the next san diego (zoo) in the next 5yrs, I already see it. which sucks.

    Oceanside is a bad place to go on vacation. You need to buy a pass just to park your motorhome RV with the kid's. They are so greedy they took are rights away. We can't just spend the night as we pass through.

      Well, I'm not sure most people visiting are going to be looking for a free place to stay in their RV. I'd recommend camping out in Carlsbad, that is a fantastic place to bring the RV.
