- Minecraft modded. In this Minecraft episode we head to a new location to begin building a Steampunk City.

I would like to see some interaction between cities in the future. For example, you could have a rebel "Steampunker" who was banished from the steampunk city and moved to the fishing town. Just have references to other cities all over the place, I think it'll really make your world feel more connected and alive.

What you could do is have scientist NPCs studying that meteor looking thingy beside your village and have it quarantined from the village. That could be their religion the creator of all things Etho came down to earth in the meteor to save the from.... Etho ill let you think of that one

I live on the east coast and whenever i get home after a tough day of school, like the one i had today, it almost brings me to tears with relief and joy when i see a video on ethos channel.
In other words I just love everything about etho, everything that will be, and everything that has been about him.

Etho - Your new steampunk city is looking to be more of an atompunk city. (atompunk is much like steam punk, but everything is in the 60's, nuclear powered and industrial - grays and browns instead of wood and brass.) You should convert it to an atompunk village before it's too late and you look at steampunk villages and realize that you have to start over.

This is kind of reminding me of that one episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The one where they are in that fishing village that has that one figure they think is awesome, the Painted Lady, who they want to protect them from the Fire Nation factory up in the mountains. The river is all polluted because of the factory, and the factory exploits the village. Everyone in the village is sick and they look to the Painted Lady for assistance. Katara helps them by dressing up as the painted lady and using awesome water bending skills to destroy the factory. I don't know why i felt the need to describe all that in detail, probably just because i loved that show so much. Anyways, love this series Etho, hope you keep it up as long as your regular single player series!

i think the one he used looks more like high voltage cabling or something, and that he should put the yellow along the ground under the gaint doors.

Leave the concrete, it makes the city feel fast paced like a real city is with the speed boost. Also you should some lighter colors like the color of metal(not rusted out) to give a slightly different feel in some areas.

I have played through many FTB worlds with my friends, and our favorite way of getting power is pumping lava in from the nether. You can pump it into a magmatic dynamo for RF, or a geothermal generator for EU, and since you are getting it from the nether, you never really have to worry about running out. You might need a chunk loader if you just use a regular pump though.

The Etho that uploaded every day wasn't the Etho he wanted to be. The Etho that uploaded every day cared more about quantity and less about quality(Respectively). The Etho that puts his heart into 1 episode as often as he can is the Etho you should have subscribed for.

the mountain, with the pillar and the 2 sides really looks like a bird! you could carve it a little more and have a majestic eagle looking out across the land, and protecting the city! And, you could make multiple bird theme places, with bird cages and make falcons the mascot and favorite pet of the people who live there!!!!!
I really like this idea. The Steampunk people up in their mountain home are the birds of this world. With tier flying machines. I'd probably not do an Eagle, but there are many good birds to pick from.
I actually thought it looked kinda like a whale. It'd be cool if it had a giant steampunk harness on it with propellers.

Etho, you talking about all of those city/town types reminds me of something - "Ravnica: City of Guilds" from "Magic: The Gathering".
Your "Fishers" resemble "Selesnya Conclave". Maybe they not as powerful as one, but they sure share same ideology.
Your "Steampankers" are "Izzet League", Crazed engineers of Ravnica, responsible for many technological advancements and destruction as result of their experiments.
And let us not forget about "barbarian idea" - Gruul Clans. They are angry and they don't like the civilization, they raid, they kill, they destroy...
Only thing that is left - is to add additional seven "groups of people" and we will get your own Ravnica ;-)

If your new city is going to be steampunk themed, then I think the Pistronics mod would go along well with it. Like say making that door to the quarry open up with pistons instead of a drawbridge from whatever mod the drawbridge is from.

What about doing a more shiney part of the Steampunk city (perhaps ontop of the anvil looking mountain/ overhang, for all the people who have made their wealth and are 'above' the commoners/ engineers? The newer city would still have copper looking pipes and steam stuff but also golden statues and fountains, all really opulent.
Also, the elevator could look really run down and rickety. If they have made flying machines then at some point they would have not progress that far and needed the elevator.
A lone fisherman, born with an uncanny intellect defected to the steampunk city and helped them to develop the first flying machine. The fishers have never forgiven the steampunks.

Yeah I like the idea of a wealthy region in the city, not sure what purpose/mods that fits that part the best though.

A good style to keep in mind would be a mix of 'dwarven' and steampunk. That would entail bulky doors and buildings with blocks that could look like they were once beautiful but rusted with age.
EthosLab Among the cool things about transfer pipes is the fact that you can run as many fluids (and/or items, plus power) as you like along the line. The pipes just tell the nodes where to search, then the node deposits its contents directly into the target inventory. It's a really neat system and, when combined with the specialised pipe types, filters and retrieval nodes (which use the exact same mechanics "in reverse" - searching for source inventories from the destination,) can be incredibly powerful.

Etho, since there are the laser guns in Rotary Craft I think it would be really cool to have multiple futuristic cities that have the laser guns and then have them go to war with each other. I know the programming on the NPCs would be complicated, but it would be awesome to watch them try to get to a monument, or try to kill all other NPCs. Also, nice vid I'm loving the modded series.
I agree I suggested he do a space station, but a good futuristic, warring nation might be neat in the future.

I'm so excited to see what this series has in store for us. This is I think by far my favorite series.
Hey Etho! (Common greeting) Since you said the NPC in the village do not care about the environment, you should do these:
Step 1: Program NPC to pour waste into the river occasionally.
Step 2: Make it such that the waste can reach the fishing village such that if the waste is not deal with, the water in the village might get polluted with waste
Step 3: Have some environment friendly city where they will fight with the steampunk village as they pollute the enviroment
Probably should not put in steps but oh well.

Etho, you can use the same transfer pipes for multiple things. In this case you could have used the two liquid transfer nodes and the two transfer pipes to put oil and water into the engines.
This also means that you could use them to put items and liquids or even transfer energy if you get the energy transfer nodes.
Etho, Dont fly with your jetpack in the Natural Village The fishermans dont like that. you can only fly when you are at the steampunkers they dont mind flying and make the nature bad

Hello Etho. I have been watching your channel for a very long time infact your actually the reason I got into youtube and minecraft. If u are ever running out of series or something, y don't u and the gang play dwarf vs zombies again. u enjoyed it, I enjoyed watching and people enjoy ur help with building/fighting. If that's not your thing maybe you should use your brain power for a more strategic game (please don't I don't know if it is going to be boring).
Things people don't like to see:
-you doing an adventure map on your own (like crash landing)
-you playing an infinite mod pack on your own (actually somehow you made this series interesting so don't think about that one too much)

The transfer rate of universal cable network is (number of cables in the network) * (transfer rate of each cable). According to the wiki, the transfer rate of one basic universal cable is 200RF/t. Two combustion engines can produce up to 60RF/t with oil, so you should be fine with those cables.
Also, transfer pipes from ExtraUtilities can transfer multiple items, fluids and even energy through single pipeline. Which means two separate lines for water and oil is not required.

He put together the mod-pack and he even said he needs to get permission from all the mod makers to have them in a pack. That time he does not have.
I think it would be interesting if you had the "shops" setup like vending machines and use pipes to send and receive the items but in a raw form. It would be interesting if the citizens were "proud" of their technology and want to show off how they can do these automated things by having exposed pipes or viewports into circuitry.
To say i'm excited for the steampunk city would be an understatement. Let's go Etho! ;D

Hey etho first of all really loveing the new series man and gonna look forward to when alot of progress is done, but I was thinking about the group of bandits you are going to put into your world and it would be super cool (dont know if it people would be too offended about it) if the bandits you make are not bandits but terrorists, I know you like the explosions dont deny it. Maybe have them targeting one building in each town some big one it might get frustrating if they get it but like you say the npc need to have something to do, have your hidden terrorist group out there somewhere in the desert, with people from all the villages that have a twisted backstory that made them join forces,
you could even store all the bombs there in their town and make a bomb factory there and keep some aircrafts and wepons there

Hey etho! I'm just wondering why you've been slower on the uploads. I'm not mad or anything just worried about you guy. Is everything okay?
I could agree with that to an extent, but he has also commented on having Internet troubles. Either way this modpack is a whole new thing for him. I understand vanilla get bored, but as he compiled a bunch of moods he hasn't used much of before or not at all I wouldn't think he would get burned out by all that.
He has mentioned MANY TIMES BEFORE that his sleep schedule is messed up and that he's trying to fix it. He's not going to record episodes when he's tired.
Also, he has only begun his modded series.
He's finalizing the pack with a couple of more mods that he wants to use.
He plans on making this a long running, never ending series so there's no point in rushing through the mods.
I think he upgraded his internet.
Because you can't build flight paths, if you link together advanced groups you should have balloons lying out a path for the airships to follow. This would add connections to your world while keeping the lofty steampunk people off of the ground and in the air.
In the Mekanism mod there is a tool called the Atomic Disassembler. It is great for mining massive amounts of resources.

For your SteamPunk city design, you mentioned the citizens would use AirShips.
Well, I think it might be cool if you added some sort of Airship dock, or perhaps a station for larger ships. You could also add these docks to your other, more futuristic towns, so that perhaps your citizens would look around other towns. (Coding that would be a lot of effort, if not impossible c; )
Hey, Etho! There's a few new Chisel blocks that would go really well with the city - there's "Technical Block"s that add stuff like animated gears and fans. Also, the Laboratory Blocks probably have a few things that would go well with this.
Some brick (stone or clay) probably wouldn't go amiss either.

Hey Etho! I have an idea for the steampunk city! not sure if you already thought of it but somewhere in the steampunk city you should designated airship hangers (Mining ships,Passenger ships etc.) You could have npcs constantly unloading cargo from the ships, or talking about the other cities they fly over. Another idea would be in the town have a smooth jazz bar then use openblocks radio to tune to a jazz station, and it would be cool if all the steampunk npc's went and danced it out at night.
It's actually pretty good that the npcs have their skins change, because it makes it look like they are alive and it goes with the idea that the village is alive
What about when they change to a skin that completely ruins what they are supposed to be? For example a fisherman going about wearing a scientists labcoat?
They are changing their jobs for the better good of the community

Maybe a change to some more modern clothes might work ok, but going from barely clothed to a scientists labcoat wouldn't really look the best in a village that is made of bamboo.
i wasn't really hooked with the fishing village but oh boy has that changed! can't wait to see your industrial/mining city :) excitement!

Hey Etho,
You could use the liquid transfer node to generate infinite water by placing it above the middle of an infinite water source with world interaction upgrades inside (the more, the quicker), it can get quite crazy fast.
Hey Etho, I have an idea for both the cities you're working on. You could make an npc in the steampunk city and fishing city be in love with each other, kind of like a forbidden love. You could make them meet at a place at a certain time in the day, where nobody would see them. Just a suggestion, love your videos.
Hi Etho, you could change the two factory blocks to the left and right of the Lime Light in the steampunk city to carpenter's blocks filled with a factory block. This way they won't connect to the blocks next to them and thus make the circle around the light look better. Give it a try, I think it looks better that way.
I think Etho should rather upgrade to the version of Chisel that does connect textures in carpenter's blocks instead.

ETHO!!! I look forward to your videos everyday! So excited for the new release. I have a suggestion: The next video you release shoud be a hanging city. With plank walkways from hut to hut suspended by fences. I don't know which wood, but it's still a cool idea
I actually like that the NPCs change clothes, aslong as they look some what like the one previous, that way they are more realistic.
Firstly the Middle of the meteor contains a chest, secondly the reason you can't find more blue shiny rocks is that on certain mods the spawning is a tad different, try mining at level five for a little bit, its a whole lot more plentiful there! As always keep up the good work!

That Chisel mod has another block that might be good for Steampunk City, this one is called Futuristic Armor Plating, and it looks as though it would go together well with the Factory block. Overall, Yay, Steampunk! -Dan
Etho, before you release the modpack you should REALLY add Thaumic Energistics. It's a AE2/Thaumcraft compatability mod and it allows you to store essentia in your AE system and interact with TC machines!
EthosLab you should really try it out!
Etho, FYI Minecraft Jules are a bigger unit of energy than Minecraft Flux. Love this series. Keep it up!
