Some time you don't drill it for public use as it may be used during war times. Like Russia. Russia have largest oil reserve in the world but they don't use all for export. They know no one will give them oil during war time. We can run regu,ar vehicles on EV but planes will require oil, atleast till next few decades.

@@DS-cb4id Depends on a lot of factors but usually after the exploration well is successful, it takes time to drill and complete several production wells to cover a larger area. Exploration wells are only spot checks on the potential of a field. Other than that, production facilities and transportation pipelines have to be built. Government approvals and permits also take some time. 2 to 3 years is uncommon. Usually it takes anywhere between 5 to 15 years.

After that most activities pertaining to setting up production and crude oil transport pipeline with booster pumps etc are in parallel. As for government permits this is as good as done, since this is a Central Government owned or controlled drilling, production and transport. You can check from oil companies website as to how much time they usually take for oil wells that are not very deep and on land.

India-Bangladesh relations: In what has come as surprise for Pakistani experts, India's intelligence agencies knew "everything" about the movements of the four-member delegation of Pakistan's notorious spy agency ISI when they recently visited Bangladesh. Speaking to a new channel, former Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit, admitted that India still maintains a strong presence inside Bangladesh, and knew "everything" about the ISI team's visit to Dhaka.

"India knew everything, the flight number, when the flight landed who were present in it, even the route they were taking after landing in Dhaka, New Delhi still has a strong presence inside Bangladesh," Basit said. "India's intelligence network remains strong, their people are present everywhere, from the airport to the streets and markets in Dhaka," the former diplomat added, while urging the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government to pay attention to this fact.
However, Basit claimed that ISI delegation's trip, was a "regular visit", and not a cause of concern for India, while expressing surprise that New Delhi opted to keep a close watch on the affair.
