Half my house contents were taken by someone with key access to my home. They left fingerprints behind on smooth mat surface and glossy surface in areas where items had disappeared. CSI came out and said because if the light dust on the surface of the areas, they couldn't lift any prints as when the culprit touched the surface, they lifted the dust from the area and just left a finger shaped imprint. Could this be correct?

Hi, how long does it takes to get results from fingerprints? I gave to police some samples to take fingerprints from my room after burglary it’s been three weeks since then. What’s approximate time to finalize that? Thank you 🙏
