@@Thecryptidsleeps I would say 600 came out?? not too bad at all for the first year!!! Planted another 350 this year and hoping last years spread a bit more-def looking forward to this years show.
Your trying to make me plant those, aren't you...😂 They are gorgeous, you made it look gorgeous... I like your video.. I wish I can try this, but I live in a tropical climate..
I got so inspired I planted 500 bulbs, I used an old hoe tool and I got the holes done in 15 minutes, It took longer to plant them and it was a little fiddly but so exciting. I have always had the 'blues' in spring and I really think this will help, I already cant wait to see my lawn.
@@badreality2 They should bloom in a month, unfortunately, a digger came in and dug a trench for the water pipe next to it so even though it technically didn't 'dig them up' it drove all over the bulbs compacting the soil, so we are just crossing our fingers anything will show this year.
@@smiley9872 I was so looking forward but as I mentioned above we had a bobcat coming in to dig for a water line and even though it didn't dig where the bulbs are it drove all over the plantation compacting the soil, we just x our fingers any will come up.
We just bought a house this Summer and shortly thereafter I saw a previous video of your crocus lawn. I've ordered a few dozen bulbs and am looking forward to our yard in Spring. Thanks for the lovely idea.

I need to know what happened! Did you manage to make the lawn you wished for? Have they flowered yet?
I have a tip for planting in new construction clay. Since it's really compact, you'll want a hand shovel with a serrated edge on at least one side. You'll also likely want a gardening fork to open up small holes to fit the shovel into.
@@hollywood7702 nearly everything came up. The crocus came up a bit later and some of them didn't come up from my lawn (think some parts don't get enough light) but tulips and narcissus all came up well! Some of my bulb lasagne are a bit of a mixture because I planted so late but looks great!
@@hollywood7702 amazing! I planted some yellow crocus and they were my fave! I did some mascari too which are just popping up now! Do you have insta or something where we can see??
I too planted 500 pickwick crocus. Inspired by you. I keep going out to look for signs of growth. I wonder if they will be a little delayed the first year. Waiting patiently here on Vancouver island❤️🇨🇦
Lovely! I also love my saffron crocus, which come in fall, as you point out. They should do well in your climate. I'm also in zone 8, and they thrive here. You've inspired me to plant more spring crocus.
Last fall I planted 1000 50-50 crocus and narcissus, they took a while to show but now they are all on display. All I think now is why i didnt do it sooner haha.
I don’t know if you have heard of or seen ipheon? They’re a sponge flowering bulb that then disappears like crocus they do require free draining soil but may well be something you would like to add in your spring display 👍🏻
This is lovely and I became so inspired. I am working on a new garden pathway (a wide one) and looking for ideas to jazz it up throughout the seasons. Crocus are a bit fiddly for me in Australia (have to lift and chill), so I will try this idea instead with dwarf iris, which should survive and multiply in my conditions. On the flip side, I can leave my dahlia tubers in the ground!
Thank you SO much for making a video on this! I was obsessed with your gorgeous lawn last spring and knew I need to create my own. May I ask what wholesaler you used? I have over 100 crocus bulbs now but I’m still on a quest for more 😈 I can’t wait to see your beautiful crocus lawn come to life again this spring 💜🌱
Since they come up early and lawns are usually dormant in winter. Let them flower, wait six weeks for sun to charge roots of crocus after flowers die, then mow over. In a lot of climates don’t need to mow until May and these bloom March and April for many climates
Just so you are aware I planted 1000 crocus bulbs in my lawn because of this video
Not 1000 but 500 .. also because of the video
How did they turn out???

I planted 200 spring flowering crocus yesterday Sept 29 and today over 100 snakehead fritillary

When they bloom, explain to us how it looks.
Oh yes, let us know how they got on!

I purchased my first crocuses and just realized I bought saffron by mistake. Thank you!

If people will plant the early-blooming little lavender crocus known as tommies, they seed themselves in the grass.
My patience has paid off. I live in Victoria Australia and my Pickwick Crocuses have just popped up 💜
Goodness, they’re just stunning, Thankyou!

Excellent video, lovely aesthetic to it too. I'm off to plant some bulbs now.
This lawn is so dreamy! 🥰 Just bought nearly a hundred to plant in our lawn in Arkansas, USA - starting slow, but hoping to plant more next year!
The tiny "Tommies" spread by themselves.
Thanks Mona, this is really helpful. I decided when I saw your photos earlier in the year that I needed to try this! Beautiful! 😊
Gorgeous crocus lawn! Love it and can’t wait to grow my own eventually!❤️
Got inspired and just ordered about 200 bulbs and 120 crocus bulbs! Hope it's not too late to plant them up when the arrive in December!
Hoe did it go? I planted 1000 bulbs total and they came up, narcissus later but crocus is having a pretty dosplay now =)

4:41 Get an iron bar or a big crow bar and it will be much easier, I have done it for daffodils

Can you please do a vid on how to divide/separate them?

A pleasure! Yay how exciting! I use Parker’s wholesale. They are a tad more expensive at the moment but still cheaper than shops 😊
Thank you so much! 💜
Which crocus gives you saffron? Looks beautiful
Really beautiful dress on you😍 I like. I would like to know which brand? 🤗
Thanks! It’s Son de flor
May I ask what do you once the flowering is over? Do you just mow?
How do i know which zone i‘m in? What do i have to type on google?
Do you ever have to mow the lawn? And if so then do you just mow over the crocuses?
Let the crocus die back for 6 weeks at least, before mowing.
nice👌👌🌼
Can’t a dibber make this easier?
🥰🌷🌷🥰

No, she states in video that is the autumn or fall blooming variety

So nice to see. I'm Omar from Bangladesh. I'm a teacher here. I wish to know you. Do you have any social account?
Your poor wrists!
Will they die if I water planted bulbs in fall? Or am I supposed to water them for spring blooms? Also will you marry me.
