Somehow, I never pictured Basel as the site of Switzerland's largest stadium, but it's uniqueness isn't so much with the stadium, but where's it's located: the city's airport is literally near the tri-point Swiss/French/German border. So, within an hour, you could literally visit three countries before taking in an FC Basel match.
@@andrewfallon7963 You must be confusing something. The borders of Switzerland, Germany and France meet in the middle of the river Rhine and there's no bridge on that particular point.
I used to stay at one of the tall building beside swisspor arena during my holiday at Lucern. Its an AirBnb apartment. Switzerland is such a beautiful country. Wish to go back there again one day.
Yup. It's gonna be similar to most of the other stadiums, all-around infrastructure and towers nearby. It's gonna be UEFA approved, so Lugano can finally play at home in Europe!!
St. Jakob Park is a very good stadium, fit for top tournament matches. It was a hit in Euro 2008 and the 2016 Europa League final. If you're visiting Switzerland, I recommend seeing a match there! On the other hand, I certainly would not call Letzigrund "elegant," but then again, maybe I'm just biased. 😂
The Schützi is home to FC Winterthur and is Kanton Züri‘s only proper football stadium, it has history, tradition and a very proud and loyal fan base. I‘m also pretty sure we are the only club in Switzerland to actually have chants dedicated to the Schützi!
you mention the shopping center in St. Gallen, but the stadium in Geneva is also part of a huge shopping center. On matchday, lots of stores are crowded with fans looking to buy some food/drink before entering the stadium. May have its value after all...
@@widialkmaarzaanstreek7291 the Argentine Primera Division have more iconic stadiums than the Swiss Super League or even the Dutch Eredivisie. Hi good afternoon! you make great videos with stadiums! really nice! I wanted to ask you if I can use this Lucerne Stadium video for a Fifa video that I'm planning. my idea is to make a gameplay and i would love the intro if i could use your video, i also live in lucerne. Unfortunately, the stadium is currently without a lawn and is not nice to take from google earth. I would also use you in your link below as info from where the video is. let me know if I have your ok. Many thanks and have a nice day
You forgot to mention that the St.Jakob-Park can glow in different colors at night, making it the best stadium in Switzerland. The Kybunpark and the Swisspor-Arena have a nice modern feel about them as well.
I noticed this fact about the football stadiums in Switzerland; all in all they're not really that large in size, with St Jakob's Park and Wankdorf having 30,000 plus capacities at best. Why is that, really?
Not too many fans (except for ultras, there's tons of them), other popular sports like ice hockey, the media talks dumb shit about football fans all the time and too many fans of big foreign teams
Could it be that they are a very small Nation with aprox 8.7 million people. Like 1/10 of Germany and like 1/8 of France. Impressive stadiums for such a small nation.
@@eriks.lundestad9365 It's also the fact that Switzerland doesn't have cities with millions of inhabitants, the biggest city only has 440'000 inhabitants and Bern for example only has around 130'000.

There's a spot where you can walk around the point and be in all three countries in seconds.

In the past, all of this belonged to Germany.
@@maikotter9945 No part of Basel or its surroundings ever belonged to Germany unless you're speaking of the Holy Roman Empire.

And with that you actively contributed to the housing shortage/ overpriced rent in Lucerne. ;-)
Lugano actually has a project for a newer and bigger stadium

Well it is elegant, the architecture was never the problem.
