In this video I installed the Pypes Exhuast longtube headers and Shorty catted x pipe on my Cammed 2006 Mustang GT.
This is not a professional installation video but hopefully I helped in some way.

Damn I'm so full of envy right now. I know this is a two year old post, but I just stumbled across it since I'm finally getting Pypes LT's for my Kenne Bell '06 Mustang GT and wanted to hear how they sounded with different combos. I'm 57 yrs old and like to do most of my own work on my car, but to see such a young guy pull off the install all by himself with nothing but a car jack and stands is mind boggling. And the attention to detail by cleaning up the used Pypes shows a level of Mustang pride that I rarely see. Keep up the great work and good luck on future mods and keep the shiny side up. @ypost I'm using a staggered setup with AMR Dark Stainless 18X10 rear wheels (American Muscle) with 305/40-18 NT555II Drag radials and 18X9 in front. The car originally came with the same chrome Bullitt's that the car in the video has, but once I upgraded my brakes to the two-piece 6-piston Wilwood's that I now have in front, I had clearance issues.
The 3V sounds so sweet with a set of cams, coyotes don’t come close!

Great work on the install and sheesh, the sound of the cams with open headers gives me goose bumps!
Steel wool plus some lime removal bathroom spray is a lot easier than sanding just fyi. You can then use some metal polish and they should come out looking great.

Hahaha yesss! Sounds insane. I'm planning on getting pype bombs soon just to have a full pypes exhuast lol but hearing how open headers sound like, I just have to get some cutouts from pypes but ill have to get some muffled axle backs maybe Flowmaster American Thunder since I'll have to remove the cats for cutouts.
Would you need a tune just for the long tube headers alone?

The pypes headers come with header gaskets so I used those.

Bro, how did you get that Dipstick Tube off??? I’m installing Pypes Long Tubes with an Off-Road X on my 09 GT right now, and my Dipstick Tube is stuck 🤬 HELP!!!
There is a 10 mm bolt if I'm correct, take it off and pull on the dip stick and it should come right out
@@dreygrach It’s an 8 lol and I pulled on it for a couple of minutes. The tube is stuck in the Block. I used a pry bar on it while pulling from the top, and I’m afraid I’m gonna break it. Any advice you can offer?

@@dreygrach It’s all good bro. Just kept tugging at it and eventually a friend got it out. Everything else has been smooth sailing up until my Off-Road X. It’s for Shorties, and I’m running Long Tubes, so I’ll have to take her to a shop tomorrow and have a down pipe made to fit! 😠😃

I just wanted to hear it with open headers, but I am not going to be driving it with open headers and no exhaust, ain't tryna get a fat ass ticket, and the x pipe did not make it quiet its the muffler that are on the car that made it quite, but I already got muffler deletes on the car and it sounds badass, I just haven't posted the video yet, but it's coming out, stay tuned 😉
@@dreygrach you make a good point lol . I wish I could let you hear mine whenever I get it just perfectly modded out just how I want it. I imagine noise ordinance tickets will be in my future lol... my daily driver is an 09 45th anniversary edition mustang gt. I have Ford racing axle backs and cut outs on it. Just with those minor upgrades, it sounds better than some with upgraded headers . The factory ones arent so bad really.... The only thing I crave and must have soon, is the Cam lope.

The car was up on jacks for a month if you watch my unboxing video basically I was putting all of that on at once.
@@dreygrach gotcha, I religiously wash and polish mine, luckily I have a garage to keep it tucked away in too, I hate even when dust gets on it hahaha. Nothing like a clean polished ride tho. I just ordered these headers last night so hoping the install goes relatively smooth when they come in
@@nickwassel2429 yessir I wash my car regularly also and installing the headers was way easier then I thought.
@@dreygrach God I hope so. Car is a 2005 with 23k miles on it with almost no corrosion underneath so hopefully I’m not fighting with too many bolts. I probably just Jinxed myself tho lmao
@@nickwassel2429 wow that's pretty darn low mileage 🤩 I think your good tho, I was at 53k miles with some corrosion underneath and all the bolts came off smoothly.

Was the oil pan fine after jacking up way back there? Lmr shows a video where they jack it up in the front. I just don’t wanna mess up my pan
Great job cleaning the headers and great video on installing them, I've been wanting to do this to my 2 shelbys, my 09 gt500 came with factory manifolds and no cats, I already changed the k-member to BMR tubular so it'll be easy once I get the headers and the h-pipe, my 08 gt350 is still stock so I'll need to get the entire exhaust system for that one.
Do you tune it after the mods.
Yes of course, I did it in a later video tho, haven't posted it yet, stay tuned.
How long would you say this took you to complete and do you recommend DIYing them
Definitely recommend doing it yourself, it takes about a day and it was much easier than I thought. I also had no experience on this kind of stuff before.

@@dreygrach I actually have cut outs on mine lol and nice car btw. I grew up on the drag strip with my Dad, Uncle and Cousins . I think they started taking me at around 2 years old. With that being said, that’s the reason I like the heavy deep sound. I can’t help it 🤦🏻♀️ :)

You need to cut them stock mufflers off and go straight pipes instead
