Seeing how you described the detent...glad I chose the VKB STECS over this one, the Mini plus option is a 20 USD more than this but at least you have the option to upgrade it in the long run, plus the detent is much better. I think Virpil does not make a good compelling product with this one

I get the feeling you find the throttle a little underwhelming. Do you feel the CDT-Vmax is worth its cost vs the TWCS? In other words, is it a cost-effective upgrade?
Sidenote on the split throttle function:
I believe the throttle halves only use the right side sensor, when locked together, so any play between the handles will not be noticeable in game.
The locking pin is also a digital input, and the software uses its on/off state to determine if the throttles outputs need to be split, or not.
Virpil's design choices of this one and their new, "Expert", throttle honestly leave me baffled. Feels like a downgrade from the CM3.
Those detents are only meant to provide soft feedback. They're working as intended. I didn't like them either, so I printed a custom detent. I'd be just as disappointed if I didn't have that option.
That wall on the right side of the grip definitely makes no sense. The much lower one on my CM3 is the smoothest part of the grip. That's from repeatedly passing my little finger over it.

Hey, first of all nice video. I am also about to switch my throtle from the Thrustmater one to another one because i had so much wiggeling on the TWCS. I have a few questions: Firstly how do you feel after further 2 Weeks of useing it? Do you have any knew complaints or anything like that?, Secondly, do you think the Space sim dents will work for finding the middle (out of combat) or are they just pure trash?, Finally, do you maybe have any other throttle suggestions with about the same quality apart from the TWCS and the STECS?
I would really appreciate if you can help me out❤

Well after 2 weeks I still think its a great throttle but I cant get warm with it. Its great but I my biggest issue with it is it size making it uncomfortable to us on a desk. Mainly because of that, I'll switched back to my TWCS and consider to sell my Virpril CDT. I dont have new complains other than the ones I mentioned in the video. The space sim detents will make you find the middle and to keep your throttle in the middle so thats fine but they wont give you much feedback. I almost think they only made them to create audible feedback lol. Alternative throttle would be the VKB Omni throttle, WinWing Orion 2 throttles and used Thrustmaster warthog throttles.

Check out my post on top. You could email support and ask for the better detentes. I'd recommend Classic Plus. My throttle came with 5, so I tried all of them, and settled with the Classic Plus. But because this one is minimalistic (no buttons) and they're also cutting costs to customer, they included only one set of detente. But that is Cosmosim (for space sims), so it's intentionally made to be soft.
English is great, but a microphone would help, the audio is very quiet.
Indeed, I will improve this the next time I decide to make a video.

Agreed about the detents. Also it could really use a momentary switch under your thumb. The new Prime coming in October has swapable modules like STECS, and I asked VIRPIL if this would be a future option for the CDT. The answer unfortunately was no. Otherwise it is a solid bit of kit.
Nice review! Virpil has been slipping in some areas as of recently. Hopefully the print version at least comes with an air break switch. I can’t believe they just didn’t add it on the throttle.
