Starting his career on Broadway, he had a variety of lead and supporting roles. He even starred in an old time radio show, The Man From Homicide. Join us as we take a look at this portion of his varied career.

Don't know if you thought about it but your programs are good for the shut-ins. This was when moral living was taught. Not saying people then weren't as evil as today but at least it wasn't upheld . Doing a great job here.
Thank you! And thanks for tuning in!

@eddieboggs8306 I wholeheartedly agree with your comment! The entertainment that H&H provides certainly helps when home bound, especially if one is not feeling the best. Thanks H&H (especially when you have time stamps) !! 💜
I live in a rv 32 degree s
You think
Love these shows. Being stuck in bed these shows take my mind off the stress of being sick. Thanks
Dan Duryea was a great actor. The skinniest “heavy” ever, but portrayed real menace. Brilliant on the radio too. Thanks for uploading.
His grown son in an interview said Dad didn't let his sons see his films as kids. He said he "Didn't want them to get any ideas." I'm a big fan of Dan Duryea! He had a wonderful sense of humor. It was always there with him.
He said "with a face like mine and a puny 155 pounds they won't cast me in romantic leads." But Humphrey Bogart and Walter Mathau got leads. To me Dan Duryea was sexy. He was called something like "The sexy villain people loved to hate. " What I like best about him is his always present underlying sense of humor!
Fine actor indeed!
This is my second favorite show after Johnny Dollar!
Which one? There were several Johnny Dollars.
@@doreekaplan2589it’s always Bailey lol
Thank you VERY much for Dan's show. Never got to hear it as a kid.
I have a brain tumor. It's nice to be able to just listen without looking.
THANKYOU for doing these compilations
hugs from Alaska
We're so glad you enjoy the shows! we are humbled and honored that we can help bring enjoyment! Thanks for tuning in!
My favorite film noir actor Dan Duryea
Loved Dan as China Smith.
At first listen I hated this , but after a second try its starting to grow on me . Thanks
All other shows dealing with killings get yuky into the gory, gruesome stuff. For me, those details are not entertainment, and unnecessary pictures, without adding a thing important or necessary. Now it's commonplace in films, tv. A good writer can imply without describing details.
I love man from homicide it's a shame they only made 14 episodes I'm apologies if I already text this message in previous volume
I love the fireplace... and the show, of course..
Iam on fixed income thank you for the program tonight
Very different to other radio plays, but I liked it. Remember Dan Duryea as a fine actor
These are excellent. I think they are better than the others, maybe the best.
Going lay down with my pit duke thank you for the program my friend
The proof that Dan Duryea was a fantastic actor is he was so different from the unsavory characters he often portrayed. He was married for 35 years to his wife, Helen, until her death in January 1967. Duryea lived a quiet life devoting himself to gardening, boating, and community activities including, at various times, active membership in the local parent-teacher association and Scout Master of a Boy Scout troop
He was amazing! one of the best!
I have always loved Dan,he has that sarcastic attitude but he is so slick about it. He always gets his murderer
Awesome in “Woman in the Window”
Have a good night
My top picks ,man from homicide, Richard diamond, nero wolf ,johnny dollar in that order. Wish there were more man from homicide. 💜💜💜
Great picks!
Lou Dana ❤ sometimes he makes my eyes sting😢
Not quite 3:35:18 as lighthearted as other shows, but I came to like it. Great character
Yeah, homicide is never "lighthearted ". Couldn't be, could it.
Many murder mysteries/shows are comical in nature. This particular one isn't. @@doreekaplan2589
The first movie I saw with Dan Duryea was "Sahara" from 1942. It's one of my all-time favorite films. Duryea plays a sympathetic American soldier, so it was jarring for me to see him play the role of a bad guy!
Need more Dan!!!! I hate killers! My fav so far 💜💜💜TY
I wish there were more of these! Duryea is one of my all time favorites.
Attempted to log in under my $1 monthly membership. No luck. .....Tried using the "forgot password" option (though I have not forgot the password). Monthly deduction still coming out of my checking account (which I still wish to do). Love your program, especially since you have eliminated so much of the extra music between episodes, commercials for blowup toys, cigarette highlights,, etc. Having all the shows flow together keeps the mind from wandering away from the plot.
Sorry you're having trouble logging in! If you contact customer service on the site I'm sure they'll be able to assist you. So glad to hear that you are enjoying the channel, thanks for being a part of the H&H family!
Very good person thank you for the 6
Does anyone have ALL of the recordings from "The Man From Homicide" ?
It was a short lived series, But in my opinion, one of the best.
These are all of the episodes known to exist. Would love it if more were found!
@@HearthandHomeEntertainment bummer! I wonder if the Duryea FAMILY have copies of his radio shows, audio, scripts, etc.. Mr. Duryea was one of the best, deserved an OSCAR
Trying charge my phone so i can listen
Thanks !
32 degrees tonight ❤😢🎉
Will you be putting up the rest of these shows? You named this one episode 4, qas that a typo as this is the first one?
It's episode 4 in the Old Time Radio Show series, it's also a podcast. Thanks for tuning in!
''Don't wait up for Lucile, ... she's dead''
Dan has a way with words! 🤣
Wen cold 🥶 no shine on this
Duryea's nickname in the trade was "The heel with sex appeal," since he usually played the bad guy!
Now I have to Google 😂
Iam goin in bed it wormer there those programs are great thank mr h
so glad you enjoy them! thank you for tuning in!
This hillbilly very good condition tonight
First time listening to Dan Duryea as a tough guy from the Homicide Squad. I'll take Johnny Dollar every day of the week. This was really bad.
Yup
It's a lot darker for sure, and I find it's an acquired taste.
Not me! Which actor do you like for Johnny? There were eight different men portraying Johnny Dollar.
