ओंकारेश्वर, मध्य प्रदेश राज्य के खंडवा जिले में स्थित है। यहां पे श्री ओंकारेश्वर ज्योतिलिंग के हम दर्शन करेंगे।शिवजी के बारह ज्योतिलिंगो में से, श्री ओंकारेश्वर ज्योतिलिंग चौथा है। ओंकारेश्वर , नर्मदा नदी के घाट पे आया है। और ओंकारेश्वर मंदिर ओमकार पर्वत पे स्थित है। ये एक द्वीप है जिसको मान्धाता या शिवपुर द्वीप से जानते है। इस द्वीप या ओमकार पर्वत के आसपास एक तरफ नर्मदा तो दूसरी तरफ कावेरी नदी है। ये नर्मदा और कावेरी नदी जहा पे मिलते है उस जगह को नर्मदा कावेरी संगम बोला जाता है।
ओंकारेश्वर मंदिर पे जाने के लिए हमें नर्मदा मैया को पार करके सामने वाले ओमकार पर्वत पे जाना पड़ता है। ओम्कारेश्वर में दूसरा ममलेश्वर ज्योतिलिंग आया हुआ है। जो नर्मदा नदी की इस तरफ है।
ओंकारेश्वर में ओमकारा पर्वत की परिक्रमा का भी बहोत धार्मिक महत्व है। परिक्रमा पथ सात से आठ किलोमीटर लम्बा है। परिक्रमा पथ में गौरी सोमनाथ मंदिर, पतली हनुमान मंदिर, शिव प्रतिमा मंदिर जैसे बहोत सारे मंदिर स्थित है।
Omkareshwar is located in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh state. Here we will have darshan of Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. Of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Shiva, Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirling is the fourth. Omkareshwar is situated on the banks of river Narmada and Omkareshwar temple is situated on Omkar Parvat. This is an island which is known as Mandhata or Shivpur Island. Around this island or Omkar mountain, there is Narmada on one side and Kaveri river on the other.The place where these Narmada and Kaveri rivers meet is called Narmada Kaveri Sangam.
To reach the Omkareshwar temple, we have to cross the Narmada Maiya and go to the Omkar mountain in front. The second Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga has come up in Omkareshwar. Which is on this side of river Narmada.
The circumambulation of Omkara mountain in Omkareshwar also has great religious significance. The circumambulation path is seven to eight kilometers long. There are many temples located in the parikrama path like Gauri Somnath Temple, Patli Hanuman Temple, Shiva Pratima Mandir. _______________________________________________
