I always run in Sport+ honestly unless I'm out of gas then switch to Eco. But when doing drag racing I do turn off traction control. However the differential makes a massive difference here.
About time someone makes a vid about the different modes in the q! In my q there’s a option to change the modes for the engine/transmission then the steering as well. When I put them sport vs standard I really don’t feel too much of a difference. I do feel a difference when I flip the little switch for modes over by the shift knob from standard to sport.
Thanks for this video..I own an Q50 S Hybrid..(2014),,,,very rarely using the shifters ...it comes handy sometimes...in 5 Years the automatic works amazing..did not know ab. the possible damage I could cause!!!
I explained that in the video. I kept tc on in order to standardize the test. It’s too difficult to see the difference between both settings if I’m fighting wheel spin. Results would have been all over the place
Off, if you can get grip. TC will pull a lot of power and substantially hurt your performance. But spinning tires through 1st and 2nd gear also hurts lol. So if you can get your car to hook, TC off is best
Nice, I always wondered what the numbers would look like. Sport mode definitely makes the car shift at a higher RPM and more aggressively while also downshifting when slowing down.
Idk if it’s the same but in my Z, it’s faster in manual mode , compared to keeping it in automatic since it just automatically get to 5th gear as fast as possible.
Yes it’s faster in manual mode because we can control our shift points. It shifts too early in auto. But I had to keep it in auto just for consistency reasons for the video.
@@SpeedCultureStudios yep good video for sure. Automatic mode suck ass lol, it’s only good to keep my car under 3k rpm when I don’t wanna keep it in manual mode, screaming and having everyone think I’m trying to race them 😂
I didn't think it did much besides change shift points in RWD cars during normal driving. Good to see it seems to play the traction control a good bit different in sport. AWD cars it changes the power distribution front/rear on the different modes as well.
@Andrew B don't do it too much. The rear axles are different are smaller than in RWD cars. You're actually losing power on your launches when you do that too!
@@Sleepyq50 I've heard thats normal in standard and eco modes, sport its *probably* true but in snow the center diff is locked and you are 50/50 the entire time

Yeah it's pretty awesome in the higher trim levels you can make more adjustments to the personal mode. I do like that feature!
when u set custom settings from the menu u need to use personal mode, then the settings u chose are used
Just got a 2015 q50 3.7 definitely glad i found this channel just started postin more of mines as well
Glad you are following along!

Best q50 3.7 channel
I appreciate that!!

Lesson for the day, stay in sport mode.... ALWAYS! lol
Personal Mode for me-sport with active trace control off. All day everyday
My q70 stay in sport
I love the videos! Keep up the good work!!🔥💯
Thanks a lot!!
Luckly my awd never has this issue.
Truth lol
So it’s best to drive your Q in standard or Personal ?
Personal only for me.
@@SpeedCultureStudios Thanks
standard in M mode at all times because i just can’t get over “shifting” my own gears.
Same here, but going to the gas station is just starting to get annoying 😂 my 3.7 loves to drink gas 🥺

I use it in eco all thr time in nyc streets even standard it to much
Did u ever make a video highlighting your custom exhaust setup on the 3.0T?
What is your profile picture of i forgot the name and see it everywhere lol
I have not made one highlighting it, but several people have done it so far. I'll need to try and put something together soon.

I don’t blame you!
Hey does ur boy Jalicoscarbonfiber sell G37s M3 style mirror caps like ur Q50 but for the g37v
I believe so, but you'd have to check on availability.
How come you never did this with traction control off?

always in sport..if it's auto...casual driving.... spirited driving then switch to full throttle manual...
agreed!
English please
Did an axle back exhaust and wow, sport in manual mode is sooo fun that sound too 🔥
Ain’t gone lie I stay on ECO most of the time to save on gas
you can save gas in sport too--just don't press the pedal so hard.
Don't drive in Eco Mode the car doesn't like it, and it really doesn't save gas anyway...just don't floor it all the time and you'll be fine.

I remove trace off all modes all it does is eat up brakes. Hey that snow mode came in handy recently
Trace control off for me too. Nonsense!
So you can turn off trace in all modes? I only thought you could do that in personal mode.
Where do I shut trace off ? it only let's me have it off in personal mode
Nice, I always wondered what the numbers would look like. Sport mode definitely makes the car shift at a higher RPM and more aggressively while also downshifting when slowing down.
You can...... I'll put in the info soon with it off my back brakes last almost 2x as long.... You can barely feel any difference with or without it.

@awfulinternet I believe that's true about it changing the power distribution on AWD Q50's on mine it seems I get more power to the rear wheels.
Awd is actually 100% power to the rear until it senses slippage.
