There's two things, for me, that make GdA a better ruleset than Black Powder. Firstly it is written specifically for Napoleonic warfare and secondly you only need the one book to play any year, campaign or nation without having to shell out for extra books to do so.
Great read through Alex! Dave and Chris have come up with a great set of rules. I did a quick read through also. The sets your are painting will look great for DBA2! You have 6mm ready to go if i remember. Talk about delivery. I received my PDF file at 12:15 am EST USA the day of release. I bought the Combo pack to have access to rules before the hard copy arrived. I had just printed them out that afternoon and printing game play sheets. My wife tells me i had a overseas package in the mail, it was my hard copy! That is service and advanced planning!

Thanks for the run through Alex, looks great! I can recommend Irregular miniatures 2mm units, really easy to paint and you can have a huge battle in a small space! (I have ACW armies)
I appreciate lager scales look great but for someone jumping in, 2mm is easy and not too expensive! Just a splash of colour on the legs, tunics, hats.
I’m sure there are flat card units out there, but I can’t remember!

I guess you could, until you get those boxes painted, push your Blucher 6mm brigades into service as GDA2 battalions, Alex, just to get a feel for the system? Anyway, it's Lard, it's Napoleonic, how can it not be popular? 🤣
Nice run thru too, you seem to have summed up the basics and expounded on the new(ish) wrinkles. I do like the '3D6 discard the highest ' thing... I'm sure I heard that mechanic mentioned somewhere recently... a Volley & Bayonet conversation perhaps?
I have thought about it, but I'd also need some skirmishers, so I'd still need to do some work...

Wondering,….about to start Epic napolionics,…would this work well with that size and basing?
That's what I'll be doing.
The basing suggested by the book matches very well with the basing and units suggested by Warlord for there Epic Waterloo. I think the only thing you would need to add are additional skirmishers for your brigades.
