Matagorda (The Commercial Centre)

- Readers have told us there are some new and interesting restaurants and bars at the Matagorda commercial centre. We headed there with the camera to have a look.
The centre is right on the promenade and we have a look around to see what's there.

I believe the Spar is undergoing refurbishment.Hong Kong Island is superb. Connys bar is lovely. What is not to like about Lanzarote?. Great video.

The only place I stay when I visit lanzarote. I’ve just returned home from my recent stay. Can’t wait to get back across in November
Hi Mike, thanks for all your videos from someone who has recently discovered your channel and site. We've had 2 fantastic holidays in Lanzarote in the past year and will be back in November. Pocillos/Matagorda is one of our favourite spots to walk and have a drink and some food. Also, despite the negative (and inaccurate) press about tourism, we found PdC very chilled out and not at all too busy. The next trip can't come soon enough. Cheers.

Matagorda is a beautiful spot, bars & restaurants are ok, bar Sin Nombre good value for pizza nice safe environment for families , jazz bistro excellent for steaks, and just to note the Spar shop is open, entrance at front, I enjoy your video content, keep it going..
Thank you and yes, I found out the Spar was open afterwards. Shame the manager doesn't keep that part looking better.

Two wee points for you. The kebab shop is owned by The Pride of India and both do amazing food. Opens late so good for late arrivals.
Where you looked over and there was an angle grinder going on just below where you were is another new place called the North Star Bar, they also do food. Opened just after we left last year so looking forward to trying it. Got a good reputation too.

Another great and informative video. Sirocco is our go to place for a coffee and cake. Flistons has always been a good place to rent reasonably priced bikes from. A good friend always rated The Farm for good pies if you want one. Keep up the good work Mike.

Hi Mike ,we went to scirocco restaurant I had a steak which was nice and my wife had a pasta arriabrata which she said was the hottest in spice that she as ever had and she can eat hot food.Devon was the best food we had ,great video of some of Matargorda, it is a bit run down in parts like you said in the shopping centre.We hired bikes from flistons and had a great day out and went to Costa tequise and back.
The Spar is open and there's other nice food places round the back under Rockola x

Don't think that commercial centre looks that run down. The one in Playa Blanca by the harbour is worse I think.
Yes, there are some in Carmen and Costa Teguise too that are probably worse.
It looks as if they have smartened the place up now. Last year it didn't look too good.

Yes. As others have commented. It's such a shame the manager doesn't keep the inside part looking as though the shop is actually open!

Spar is currently closed now. Under refurbishment for 1 month (from 2 weeks ago) due to the store being extended. 👍🏻

I don't know to be honest, but I would have thought there is. Will check and let you know.
No, but there are ramps, and it's accessible to mobility scooters etc
Don't trust free standing ATM. That's all tourists have to use, can you elaborate?
No. Anyone can use the ATMs in banks. That would be our advice - any problems we've heard about with cash withdrawals seem to have happened with the free standing ones, so we avoid them, and use one at the nearest bank.
