How to fix 10261 Roller Coaster - One Simple Fix for continuous non-stop operation!

- We've finally figured out how to stop the problem of the chain slipping, snapping and breaking for 10261 Roller Coaster. It's a really simple fix that allows the coaster to run smoothly and to permanently loop around the track without any issues.
My problem is, I can't get the train to make it back to the lift chain, the middle car always stops at the corner of the platform closest to the lift chain
Thanks for this - my roller coaster has been having some issues since I moved it and I need to fix the lift hill - this is very helpful
Glad to have helped!
The way I solved the cars catching up was a bit... OOT...
I used an arduino and IR sensor hidden under the station; trains stop at the station, the arduino runs the release mechanism with another motor after a short time delay. Basically block brakes / signal sections.
Like I said, a bit elaborate, but works well.
I also found that the cars and the track wears in after a while... to fix this, I rub down the inside curves of the track with a cloth hit with some silicon grease regularly. Stops the coaster cars from wearing in.
Sounds like a really cool project! Thanks for the tip re silicon grease, going to try that!
Gotta give this a go. I've had exact same symptoms after motor added. Also lubed tracks and coaster axles. Sc1 silicon lube. Minifigures have been ejected from the first turn.
I hope it works for you. It's been perfect for me since I made the change👍🏻
I have the exact same issue, we have been playing around with the links, I think have 203 links now. I'm going to try the rubber band, Thanks
Hope it works for you Paul. It's the only solution I found worked perfectly.
I think a good fix to not let cars approching themself in 2 or more is to actually, maybe simulating block brakes, so the cars will wait for their turn
Awesome!
Awesome tips👍🏻
Thanks!!
yeah this was helpful but another problem im having is it gets stuck on the track itself, its not going the whole loop
If that's happening, it could be one of the axles on the cars is slightly bent. That happened me and the cars wouldn't do a full run.
How does the car(s) grab the chain at the base of the incline??? I’m looking to modify/add an incline to my loop coaster.
Whoa your station krank actually works how did you do that, mine you need to spin very hard and roughly
I can't remember if there was a trick when building the crank but maybe it wasn't to over tighten the axle pieces?
Me too
When I spin it you have to put so much effort to barley get it up and then when it’s at the top when it goes down it doesn’t make it to the end
Check the axles on the cars, make sure they're all spinning for ages when you run your finger over them. If any of them are even a little bit sticky, it won't make it all the way around

Heya from Lucan
Hi Rory!
every time I add 203 links like the instructions say it seems like I have way to many on the coaster
I have had this Problem I had to Count the links And Do this With The band I don't Use Motors YET But I hope it doesn't Do This when I get the Motors All the lego reviews usually say it works Perfectly.
It's a better set than the loop coaster, for sure but I could not get the chain slip to stop without doing this.
I have to try this. Mine is always cracking. But it seems to be on the top of it, on the first rubber.
Hope you get to the root of the problem! Although, I was having when the tension goes on with the first wheel too.
I did. It was also the upper part.
Yes that's what mine was doing. Okay I need to add may be few more link s that I did not add I try it..my problem was I added the power up but an .it James up..so now I can. Not you s the hand crank part ..all so I fount. The carts don't run as smooth so you s the carts from the space descovery center set 👍😉 way thay run so smooth ..
Don't forget to make the rubber band tighter. That's what worked for me.
Come hai fatto l’elastico piu corto?
Sto usando Google Translate, quindi perdonami se suona male. Ho piegato la fascia originale in una figura di 8 e poi ho piegato la figura di 8 a metà. Spero che aiuti?
I see many people having problems with their Rollercoaster, but mine worked naturally with no modification, I can let it run for an hour and works fine with a car or two
That's great. Mine just wouldn't run continuously without adjusting the tension on the chain.
@@brictronic Neither did mine :( will try out this tip next time I take the Roller off the top shelf :D
Hello
so gear down the chain speed so it does not catch up.
I've messed with my chainlinks a lot but I never had this, rip you
