- This was completely unexpected! Of course I was ready for this genius to.. well.. be a genius, BUT.. Ren and his guitar found a match with the beautiful voice and falsetto of Sam Tompkins. I was simply blown away and left speechless! lets watch together, shall we?
Sam is criminally underrated he has the best male vocal range in love songs right now imo and his songs always connect with your heart ❤️

Sam Tompkins is amazing and packs alot of emotion into his songs. I've been recommending this song to everyone.
Sam is another amazing, self-trained artist. Ren can across him one day when Sam was singing in the street at age 16, and started playing with him. They've been friends ever since, and have some great videos together!
Sam is an artist is his own right, as well, currently on tour in North America. His song Lose It All, in particular, is not to be missed!

Loved your reaction! This is such a cool collab. The back story to these 2 is amazing, from memory, Ren saw him belting out tunes in Brighton, saw the raw talent in Sam's voice, I believe, without a mic/PA. He suggested they busk together, there are some great examples of that on You Tube, you might consider reacting to. Sam has supported Justin Bieber and is plotting his on path in music.
As I understand it when Ren saw Sam singing people were just walking past and Ren told Sam that if he used Ren’s speaker/pa system then he guaranteed that people would stop and listen and they did.
Would love to see you doing some more Sam :) Give "Lose it all" or "Time will fly" a go if you are interested in his solo stuff. I love his voice, and found him through Ren aswell. Both of them performing together is always a great time! Glad to have found your channel :)

Sam has one of the most amazing sounding voices, I've ever heard.
I think he sounds _so_ much better when his voice isn't messed about with much during mixing/ mastering production; the more polished sounding songs I've heard with him, except perhaps What Went Wrong, seem to flatten the character that makes his voice such a pleasure to listen to in the first place. The ass of it is, naturally, Sam is making music, that goes through mixing and mastering processes, because he wants his music to sound good, and well made, which it does... But, I feel, at the cost of the aaaahmazing tone and timbre he has when using a just a mic with a lil reverby quality to it, or just singing live, without one.
This is in my Top5 live music captures on the web. Truly #Captivating stuff imho. :)
Check out any of Sam's singles over the last year or so- they all have vocals you'll appreciate. Maybe not Ren's compositional virtuosity or enthralling unorthodox structures, but tremendous vocals for you to enjoy. ;)
You have to check out their live on the street version of this song. It is by far my favorite song.

Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell.
He’s 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things.
He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too.

for some vocal nerdery try to talk to charismatic voice. I found that passage interesting with falsetto and headvoice. My first thought was both genders have falsetto? But I am not trained in singing. I do have some basic theoretical background about music in general though. NEvertheless I also was surrised by the clarity of sams voice in those high notes. Very impressive indeed. Ren just has a good sense of who to work with it seems.
