Thanks for posting this. I was rooting around on Amazon and found this camera as a return in like new shape for $8. Looks like it will do the job as a helmet cam quite well.
i have glasses that are the same a text file. with mine you do not have to keep removing the card though. you can just plug the glasses/camera into your pc with usb cable an access the card that way without removing the card or needing a usb reader. you should try that directly just plug in your camera to pc with cable and you can access card. copy files etc. i am going to get one of these for my mobility scooter and strap if onto top of my seat are they any good??? - also one question if you set 1080p and then use the switch on the cam to set 720p does it change the setting on the text file???
The video out of this at 1080p is usable, but it is not great. Probably the best video I have gotten for the cheapest price is out of the DBpower EX5000 which is only $20 on Amazon: amzn.to/2xViTPj. I have used two EX5000 for years and beat them up and they are both still trucking along. I think an EX5000 would be better suited for a mobility scooter, then one of these min F9 cams, and the EX5000 produces better video, cost half the price and comes with more accessories. Just my 2 cents.
mine didn't have that text menu, but only photo/video and time. i had to copy time to d:\ and change time there, then copy file back to formatted memory card before using in camera. if i changed the time text and reinserted it reverted back to original time. thanks, i now have the right time/date as don't have option to take off screen. at least i'll be able to edit airsoft videos with timestamp easier lol
Thank you for the video and your explanations are very clear. Question if I may ask? I am mounting this on the rear of my Motorcycle and was wondering when I plug in the usb charger to the camera (so it continues to charge while I ride), and when I stop I have to hold down the back button to stop the video recording then hold the front button till it vibrates to shut down the camera before removing the card is this correct? Thanks for your reply

For some reason it's not showing me the cryptic text that showed on your video. So I'm stuck at that point. Also I tried recording, and all I got was muffled audio with a black screen.

Doug, just want to ask if you know a way of Increasing the 'Record time' to .... the full Card amount rather than 3 minute segments? I know there are different versions of the cam. the older ones I had - Just record until card is full... but recently bought new and seem only to record for 3 Mins / 3 mins / 3 mins files... Not what i need. Any way of changing.... I tried on the TXT file but makes not difference. Regards, Yangi
If you will go to 5:18 of the video and look at the fourth line from the top titled "VideoClipTime=3" Changing the 3 to a 4 will increase the record time to 10 minutes. This is the maximum record time per clip the camera can do.
hope this question doesnt sound to silly but when i put the cable in mine to charge it a red and blue light start flashing. it says in the instructions about 3-4 hours and it will turn off, i had mine plugged in for 18 hrs and it never stopped flashing? or switched off as there is no screen to read whether its full i thought i would ask what your experience of this is. mine only came with a small 2 sided leaflet for instructions and pretty crappy as they go :)
Not having an LEC makes this camera hard to decipher, especially wiht the lack of instructions and multiple firmware versions. I am just glad if it works.
So, I bought a similar camera. I purchased a 32 gig SD card, formatted it like you did in your video, placed it in my camera, turn the camera on then off as you suggested, and put the SD card back in my computer. I have three entries now on the SD card one is photos, two is video, and the other one is a time text data. The only thing all the time text data is the date and time. Having trouble because the camera is only recording and four or five second intervals. Does not continue recording I don’t know what to do.
It sounds to me like your camera may have a different firmware version then the one in the video. This video is two years old and the camera itself is older than that. Without seeing what you are looking at, I will having a hard time helping you. If yuo could upload the files to dropbox or something I might be able to look at them and see if there is somehting that can be adjusted.
Can you use your cellphone as a monitor to the camera if connected by usb wire, coz now micro usb on both end is already available. Or the usb port of the camera is only for charging the battery?
No. Loop recording means that if you SD card reaches full capacity, the camera will still record, but will start overweighting the oldest videos on the card. The maximum single file video record times is up to 30 minutes. There is no way to make record a single file longer than this.

Hey Jungle Explore, ever try just plugging in the USB adapter cable to the camera and your computer? You can access and program the files from there without having to remove the SD card every time. The camera will even turn on by itself. Also why don't you mention which type of formating that you did - ex FAT, FAT 32, NTFS ? Thanks
Yes, you can do that, but it is more dangerous than the way I showed. You might corrupt the system file trying to modify it this way. The camera only supports a Fat32 file system.
Surely if the system file gets corrupted, you could just re-format the sd card (Fat32), put it in the camera and it'll write the files to the card again?. :+) Great video by the way!. 👍

I had to then reformat it and ever since it hasn't worked. When I inspect the SD card there are no files written to it, the DCIM folder etc. So what happens is I turn the camera on, it's fine but as soon as I hit the record button the red and blue lights blink then it turns itself off. Any suggestions?
Sounds to me like hardware failure, sorry to say. I don't think there is much you can do. If you can get ahold of the company and get a firmware upgrade, that might be your only hope of fixing it, if the problem is firmware related. If it is hardware, well, then it is time to get a new one or try to get the company to replace it.
Not possible. This camera employs a Fat32 filing system format, which can only support up to a maximum of a 4GB file size. It simple is technically impossible for it to write a file over that. That is a limiting factor in how much time it can record in a single file. Additionally, most cameras have 30 minute record time maximum anyway.
HELP! Can't get my sports dv9 camera to work. I lost the sportsdv.txt file. Do you still have a copy of the file? Can it be sent to me please? Thanks Steve
Hello Jungle Explorer, I have one of these but when I plug in the SD card I do not have the spotsdv.txt file, only ‘PHOTO’ and ‘VIDEO’ folders and ‘Time.txt’ Do you know how I can get this file? Also, do you know where the microphone is located on the camera? Thanks in advance.
I think if you format the card on your PC (Fat32) again, and put the card back into the camera, then the camera will write all the files you need onto it. :+)
Create the file on the SD card, just open Notepad and transcribe the file from this video, I did it on mine that has the same issue and the settings took fine.
Unfortunately there is more than one firmware version for this camera. Different versions behave differently. I can only help you with the one demonstrated in this video.
In operation, the camera will not work at all, and the lighting will work and will not stop shaking. Note that it has a 16 RAM card. I hope you will answer me, thank you.
Can you aluminate the timestamp? I've seen a few videos where the users say they would like that option and I know I'm one of them... I just order this for my shotgun and I'm going to play with the settings right away, so thank you for sharing this video...
Question: After setting to 1min of recording, whats gonna happen then, is the recording going top or the recording will only stop if you press the stop button?
Setting it to 1 minute just tells the camera to record one minute segments. It will not stop recording after one minute, it end that file and start another. Only pressing the record button with stop it from recording.
I lost the cover for mine and lost the memory card I bought a new card I formatted it but cannot find any files, being unable to find any files I continued and put the card in the camera but it does nothing but turn on both the red and blue lights are flashing, I press the other button to record but to no avail it just turns off, well annoyed as I have had this for around 3 years, any ideas on how to do it now as the camera is still good it's the card I am having issues with.
I have an F9 sports dv camera but I get the time and date but not set the laptop shows that the device is causing malfunctions and does not want to connect but if you pull it out of the laptop and plug it back in you can download the videos someone make a video from the start what your laptop displays when you connect the camera to the laptop mine only displays an external device but I can't adjust anything does anyone else have this problem The device is a cheaper version purchased from aliexpress but on this video is it looks like the same device
The best practice is to pull the card out of the camera and put it into the laptop, instead of connecting the camera directly to the laptop. I think you will have better luck doing the way I show in this video. These cameras appear to all be made by one manufacturer, but to different seller specifications. There are several variations of firmware that I have heard about. I only have experience with the model shown in this video.

This camera records to AVI format. Most smartphones cannot play AVI format, without a special app like VLC player. Read the card in an actual computer and see if the video files are actually there. If they are, but your phone is not seeing them, then the issue is with your phone's software, or maybe the card reader. If you read the card on a computer and do not see any recording on it, then the camera may be defective.
Here is a short video I made just for you. Use the instructions in this video to open the SportDV.txt file and then follw the example in this video ( ua-cam.com/video/VGiEDWjEnPc/v-deo.html ) to adjust the time and date.
Ahhhhhh s&^$ wish I had not bought 1 of these 2 years ago . I just watched your video cuz I lost the box now wish I never bought this thing. But thanks for the video.
I do not understand the question. On my camera the date and time are always on the video by default and there is no way to remove them. Your question seems to be asking how to get the date and time to be displayed on the video. This would possibly mean that your camera has a different firmware version than mine. But if you follow the instructions in this video, you should be able to figure out what portion of the settings code to edit to make the date and time visible. That is assuming that this function is supported in you firmware version. Sorry I could not be of more help.
@@manasezfollene1449 I sincerely apologize, I do not understand what you are trying to ask. If you do not speak English well, just write your question in your native language and I will try to translate it myself.
I honestly can't answer this question because I don't really know exactly how you would physically accomplish this task. The camera does not use a standard USB Micro or Mini connector. It has its own proprietary connector. In order for it to be connected to a phone, you would need some sort of special adapter to go from the proprietary connector to whatever connector your phone has. If you could accomplish this, my guess would be that it would organize the internal drive, but I cannot guarantee that it would as I have never tried it.
No. The amount of footage is dependent on the size of the SD card you use. It handles up to a 32 GB SD card and should be able to hold several hours of footage with that size card. However, the videos will be in 3 minute segments.
I just bought the device, I press the buttons and it registers. However, if the videos you have recorded are longer than 1 minute, it displays quickly and the video runs corruptly. He doesn't look down, he finishes fast with a high voice.
@@joaoalmeida1959 If you let this camera sit for a year without charging it, my guess is that the battery is dead. Rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries are not designed to not be frequently used. Letting them sit for long periods without a charge/discharge cycle is very bad for them.

If it is hardware, well, then it is time to get a new one or try to get the company to replace it.
What if you want to recordé with out any stopping.... by Using all MB from SD card.. thanks
@@thejungleexplorer thank you very much for incredible response

Edward Parsley I have exactly the same results and no possible way of editing
I think if you format the card on your PC (Fat32) again, and put the card back into the camera, then the camera will write all the files you need onto it. :+)
Create the file on the SD card, just open Notepad and transcribe the file from this video, I did it on mine that has the same issue and the settings took fine.
Unfortunately there is more than one firmware version for this camera. Different versions behave differently. I can only help you with the one demonstrated in this video.
In operation, the camera will not work at all, and the lighting will work and will not stop shaking. Note that it has a 16 RAM card. I hope you will answer me, thank you.
It is possible that the camera is defective. I would contact the seller for a replacement.
you can always format the card and you have the original file?
Yes. You are correct.
thank uoy
My pleasure. Glad it helped
Can you aluminate the timestamp? I've seen a few videos where the users say they would like that option and I know I'm one of them... I just order this for my shotgun and I'm going to play with the settings right away, so thank you for sharing this video...
I don't think this is possible, but it would certainly be cool.
Safe mate wat is a tf card is it same as a SD card and does it have to be 10 class can I get a SD 32 GB 10 cless bro thanks
A TF card is just a Micro-Sd card. Here is what you need: ad# amzn.to/3i3Iddt
@@thejungleexplorer thank you for the answer, it is clear to me now. I already ordered f9 hd cam online.

Is the new card 32 GB? That is the max support size for SD card. Also, make sure that the card is formatted to FAT32. Hope this helps.

I have an F9 sports dv camera but I get the time and date but not set the laptop shows that the device is causing malfunctions and does not want to connect but if you pull it out of the laptop and plug it back in you can download the videos someone make a video from the start what your laptop displays when you connect the camera to the laptop mine only displays an external device but I can't adjust anything does anyone else have this problem
The device is a cheaper version purchased from aliexpress but on this video is it looks like the same device
Is it possible to add music to the video from the Mini F9 Camera? Thank you
In post processing, yes.
Hi there, I have tried your recommendations step by step without success - the camera just doesn't create the SportDV file. Any chance you can share it with us please.
Thank you
This video is quite old and there have been many different companies releasing models using the same case, but different firmware. Several people have commented that their camera does not show the SportDV.txt file. However, if you want to try the file, I have it in my DropBox so people can download it and try it out. Question: How big was the 1min video clip on your setting? I am wondering if we set the video size 1920x1080p, 30fps, what Mega Bites size of the video clip would be made for per minutes. Just approximately.
It's been a while since I used this camera, but if memory serves me, it was around 2 to 3 MB per second of 1080p video.
Hi i have this camera but not the sport d.v text you opened with the settings, any chance you could send me it?

I got this camera being told that videos & pictures could be viewed by transferring sd card to a mobile phone, but several attempts have failed to pick up anything,iv have formatted the sd card, anybody sussed this out or have i mis judged this thanks
This camera records to AVI format. Most smartphones cannot play AVI format, without a special app like VLC player.
Read the card in an actual computer and see if the video files are actually there. If they are, but your phone is not seeing them, then the issue is with your phone's software, or maybe the card reader. If you read the card on a computer and do not see any recording on it, then the camera may be defective.

sounds like it's missing the sd card
How to get leave a date time on display ?
I do not understand the question. On my camera the date and time are always on the video by default and there is no way to remove them. Your question seems to be asking how to get the date and time to be displayed on the video. This would possibly mean that your camera has a different firmware version than mine. But if you follow the instructions in this video, you should be able to figure out what portion of the settings code to edit to make the date and time visible. That is assuming that this function is supported in you firmware version.
Sorry I could not be of more help.
Yep , i mean that . Date time always on video and no way to remove them .
I got it ! Thx alot

Proprietary. It is unique to this device.

He work wirh 16GB camera? Or only with 32?
Should work for both
Can it connect to a phone?
I honestly can't answer this question because I don't really know exactly how you would physically accomplish this task. The camera does not use a standard USB Micro or Mini connector. It has its own proprietary connector. In order for it to be connected to a phone, you would need some sort of special adapter to go from the proprietary connector to whatever connector your phone has. If you could accomplish this, my guess would be that it would organize the internal drive, but I cannot guarantee that it would as I have never tried it.
I've got the adapter. I'll test it out and post the results.
i bought this 3 years ago and for the life of me, i could not change the date and time and I chuck it away

So this camera can only store 4 minutes of footage then it rerecords over it. ?
No. The amount of footage is dependent on the size of the SD card you use. It handles up to a 32 GB SD card and should be able to hold several hours of footage with that size card. However, the videos will be in 3 minute segments.
CAN I PUT A RED SPOT FOR HUNTING?
This does not have a built-in red dot feature, but it can be added in post processing.
Can I do these operations on the phone?
I just bought the device, I press the buttons and it registers. However, if the videos you have recorded are longer than 1 minute, it displays quickly and the video runs corruptly. He doesn't look down, he finishes fast with a high voice.
