Thanks for the upload! Me and my friends were drifting my 2000 solara in the snow then we parked up to switch seats when we went to drive off the car wouldn't move. We looked behind us and saw a trail of transmission fluid, later we brought it home jacked it up and saw transmission fluid dripping from the bellhousing. Seemed like it was leaking from the bellhousing where it meets with the motor. Looks like it was coming out of a oval hole or a slit of the transmission you can see it in the video 0:00 and 7:19. Also i have a P0500 code when all my gears felt like neutral.
Hard to say how long one will last. I have seen them with that kind of mileage. I would say with that kind of mileage and never changing the fluid, don't change it now. You may cause damage.
I’m leaking atf small drips here and there. It settles along the pan. I replaced the gasket and pan thinking it was just an old gasket. But it still leaks. Any other ideas? Cv axle seals are good. And the front of the new gasket/pan is dry. Does that speed sensor leak if the o ring is bad? I have the same a541e as you worked in here.
Whsts your opioun on these a541e trans ? Reliable and strong if serviced regularly and properly ? I have the a541e trans in my camry v6 1mz fe Have got a shift kit and stall converter done Put a phantom or racing diff lsd centre in What other performance mods can i do to this trans ? Who sells good quality clutch disks for the a541e trans ? Thanks Glen Australian
They are a descent transmission. We are not a performance shop, so I am not sure what is available. I did a quick search and came up empty on that. Use a Transtec kit with Raybestos clutches. WIT or Transtar is who we deal with. Links are in the description.
I have a question Did you know what i need to replace on my transmission Is this same part number The issue : When i shift in to reverse make a whine noise and it kicks Also make the same noise when it shift into a 3rd gear Im sorry if you don't understand but is cause i don't know many English
You never know what you will find until you get in there. These do have problems with bearing failure and cracked overdrive drums. I would pay close attention to that area and also the direct drum (drum behind the pump).
Would this be the same transmission as a 2001 toyota avalon, i recently replaced the torque converter seal, and it is still leaking ATF. Could it be the pump cover, or pinion plug?
Could be this one or a U241E. Yes it could. Could also be the torque converter. Can also be one other thing. Describing it to you may be difficult. Go to my Instagram and I can send you a picture. CurmudgeonTransmission.

Thanks for watching. I would not concern myself too much with the P0500 at this moment. Could have been set because it was not moving. Fix the trans first and clear the code. If it comes back after that, look at the speed sensor on the diff.

Where is your shop located?
Tips for maintaining one of these? If I got one with 131,000 miles and original fluid, would you say that it would last another 100,000 miles?

Thumbnail looks like a god damn horror movie. Then again, so are cars !
Got all new LED lighting in here and it changed the hue from blue to orange.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission No worries I love the vids and info man. Just sharing first thoughts/sarcasm

Yes, it does. There are a bunch of places it could be leaking. I would look at the linkage seal behind the neutral switch.

@CurmudgeonTransmission gday mate Thanks for reply and info much appreciated
What would it be if all forward gears work like normal except for Reverse on the A541E
Missing tube at the bottom of the valve body, worn ring lands on the overdrive housing or cracked overdrive direct drum.
I have a question
Did you know what i need to replace on my transmission
Is this same part number
The issue :
When i shift in to reverse make a whine noise and it kicks
Also make the same noise when it shift into a 3rd gear
Im sorry if you don't understand but is cause i don't know many English

How often shoukd trans fluid be changed ?
IMHO, every 25-30,000 miles.
