With no disrespect at all, I disagree with Never using forms techniques in a fight. You've never used a low block front punch technique in a fight. If someone threw a low front kick you wouldn't low block and retaliate?
Hey William, thanks for your comments here. You raise a good point. Senpai Adam may exaggerate a bit when he says that he would "never" use a low block followed by a mid-level punch in a fight. I think the point he's making, though, is that his stance and execution of the combination would not be that stiff and formal. During fighting, his stance would be tighter and both hands would be up in defense. He wouldn't pull his right hand back before the punch, and he'd do the combination faster and more fluidly. As he says in the video, forms help you get your focus, coordination, etc. right for when you do spar or fight. Have a great day! :)

I come from the wushu world, but I would also add that forms can be beautiful. Once you know it and can get into the flow, it is legit Art.
Memory and Muscle memory which will help in a fight, the less you need to think the quicker you will move.
Very helpful video. Thanks
Appreciate a bunch Sabon
