I love Yngwie's playing. He is an inspiration. It's been years. What a sound, from the beginning with Alcatrazz, in 1983. And Marching Out is a masterpiece album, with many good pieces including Blackstar, that reminds me of a viking ship sailing in the darkest of the night.

Yngwie might not be super versatile player but he's baroque style, classic influence and heavy skillful riffs makes him totally unique. No one incorporate it like him. Love it.
Yngwie's solo in Vengeance is one of the best works of guitar ever and changed my life when I first heard it as a kid and his playing influences me till today
The skill is excellent but what makes this so wonderful is that it's nothing without the emotion.

I am the odd bird playing blues and classical. I am in Living Blues magazine. I can't fathom people saying he has no feelings. He drops with it.
The understanding for me is the classical. Emotions are expressed as feelings in the blues, it is personal. In classical, emotions are expressed ad mood, it sets the tone for the audience. Improvisation vs composition. The whole musician embraces both.
Few rockets explore or embrace classical. They have no reference point for his music so it all sounds like a bunch of fast notes. Kids in Russia know classical and adore Yngwie.
