About ITA Airways (from Wikipedia):
Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A. (pronounced [iˈtaːlia traˈspɔrto aˈɛːreo]), dba ITA Airways, is the flag carrier of Italy. It is owned by the Government of Italy via the Ministry of Economy and Finance and was founded in 2020 as bankrupt Alitalia's successor. The airline flies to over 70 scheduled domestic, European, and intercontinental destinations.[8] ITA Airways is a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance. Its main hub is Rome Fiumicino Airport near Rome and focus city is Linate Airport near Milan.
About Airbus A330neo (from Wikipedia):
The A330-900 retains the fuselage length of the A330-300 and the similarly sized four-engined A340-300. Cabin optimisation allows ten additional seats on the A330-900 (310 passengers) with 18-inch-wide economy seats. The -900 should travel 6,550 nmi (12,130 km; 7,540 mi) with 287 passengers (440 max). Delta expects a 20 percent reduction in operating cost per seat over the Boeing 767-300ER aircraft it replaces. Further reconfiguration of cabin facilities enables the -900 to seat up to 460 passengers in an all-economy layout. This exceeds the existing 440-seat maximum exit limit allowed by the type certificate, and requires a modification of the Type-A exit doors to meet emergency exit requirements. In November 2019, maximum accommodation increased to 460 seats, through the installation of new 'Type-A+' exits, with a dual-lane evacuation slide.

you're great dan
Do African airlines
would you ever consider adding hotels to points master?
Hello Dan,
Do you have plans to review Air India or Vistara? The last time you flew them was 5 years ago and that was when government owned them.
The new Air India is on a transformation journey under Tata Leadership. Please review Air India. You are reviewing all bad airlines but you are not reviewing an airline which has more prosperous future.
Italians just like me don't really care about ITA. We kept Alitalia afloat for way too long and we just pray that someone will buy ITA so we don't have to pay for its survival...
Lufthasa is planning on integrating it into the lufthansa group. But now Air France-KLM also seems to be interested.
@@ebbu.planespotting1903Courtesy of the EU.
Isn't Lufthansa group already a buyer once they can convince the EC that economy prices don't suddenly match business class prices?
@@magnustan841 i believe so but the french-Dutch alliance has now also shown interest in the Italians
Couldn’t agree more!
14:30 Hey Dan, don’t wanna seem rude but as a pedantic pilot I must say that those are probably the wing lights (they give proper lighting to the wings in case the pilot needs to look out a window and look for damage and other stuff), and not the landing lights. Sorry if this was rude!
Oh yea, so rude. Not sure he'll recover from it.
Icing.
Very interesting
Very polite
Why would it be rude to educate Dan (and viewers, bc I didn’t know this either)?
Nice cabin interior. but I was also SHOCKED about the food, Italy has some of the best food in entire world I have ever had!!!!
Right?!
@@NonstopDan just probably dont get the special meal...and also choosing indian food from an italian carrier is a massive no go. I bet the pizza Margarita was quite decent.
@@vitkrivan9380 1000% agree. Italy doesn't do "special meals" well at all. Make an exception 🙂
@@vitkrivan9380 Yep, same with Chinese Carrier, pick the local option and eat some meats cause they are really not good trying to make something they don't usually do.
well Dan orders special meals - so the things served are not what the regular customer gets. tomato pasta just looks like tomato pasta that is served in restaurants in italy
"new" is a bit of a streatch, they basically are a rebrand of Alitalia...
I was curious about what happened to Alitalia.
@@gottabe884 they went bankrupt if i remember correctly
@@gottabe884 It was forced to go bankrupt due to a ruling from a EU court and the EU Commission regarding their state funding under the virus in 2020. The Italian state worked around that by making a new airline
14:34 those aren‘t landing lights, but the wing lights. They are used to check for damage, mainly though for ice buildup. Also, they help to be seen by other aircraft.
15:25 those are landing lights
Plus, in Iran, there’s GPS jamming around that area, you never know.
Indeed, in these kinds of airspace all lights are usually turned on for extra visibility to other aircraft.
Tq sir
I just flew ITA economy for 4 legs in the past few weeks. Wasn't bad, wasn't amazing, however I was surprised that they had proper business class and premium economy seats for a short Schengen flight from Athens to Rome.
We plan to fly business class from miami to rome looking forward to an amazing flight thank you for your post
Once again awesome video, I could just feel your excitement in the beginning, so relatable! The feeling right before you fly! Very well made video, 1 million subs soon, no doubt!
Thanks so much for watching!
Hey Dan, I'm glad you made a video about my flag carrier ITA. I'm happy you enjoyed the seat. I've flown countless times with them and with Alitalia in business class as well and usually food in premium classes has always been the highlight of the flight as you were expecting as well. In fact, in business they offer series of dishes that are designed by renowned chefs and are usually executed pretty well. So, I fear that the special meal might have played a role here, as well as in other of your experiences, but I know this still shouldn't be the case. About the service, it's true that it can be a hit or miss as in other european carriers, but I've noticed that with ITA, especially compared to Alitalia, the "hits" definitely outweight the "misses". Thanks for your honest and funny reviews that I always enjoy!
Thanks so much for your comment 🙏
Darn, i have RT booked on ITA J this Christmas. I was really looking forward to it because the seat looks so beautiful.
Could we see videos on LOT Polish Airlines in the future? Currently their business class seating is outdated but I think that the food and hospitality make up for it.
Its the “Points consultant 💁♂️”for me😂.
Love it.
Interesting since I remember watching John Cahill’s take on ita like year ago and both dishes and crew were reviewed as really good especially the meals. Champagne is not aviable I guess because Italians and French don’t get along very well. Also on the other hand Italians are special when it comes to their behavior. I still think that any European airline is at list way better in terms of being less morally stressful choice unlike middle eastern ones.
What do you mean by morally less stressful genuinely

COOL VLOG!!! LOL Right when you said you couldn't find the lounge you walked past a sign that said "Lounge ---> " MMM yummy food!
The sign he walked by was for another airline ... he wrote in the titles on the screen
The Vid is a banger as always ❤
My experience of ITA was completely the opposite.. Great seat and meal even in Premium economy. Great wine selection and food in Business.
Like other said.. you don’t get champagne on ItA but you probably got a Franciacorta (Spumante - not Prosecco)
Why would an Italian carrier serve French wine?
Ya know what? I love Olive Garden, it literally got me through me last training and was there for me when nothing else was 😂
Flew Virgin Upper Class a couple months ago and agree, the service and food was just an A+ - as was the Upper Class Clubhouse check in at Heathrow. Unfortunately the seats and reverse herringbone layout was so bad, I'd never fly them again.
I love that you were talking about not being able to find the lounge while you were passing under a massive sign saying “Airline Lounges” 😂
🤣
7:08 the very first one is a Trento sparkling wine. It’d be weird to have champagne (which is French) in an Italian airline.
Thank you for the video
i love your videos :) thank you for another great one from Finland
You are so cute to listen to - I remember when flying Origin Air I sat to a nice young man similar to you - we both loved flying from University.
ITA has different cabins throughout their wide-body fleet. They have reverse-herringbone business class on their A350s, the staggered business class on the A330neo and the old Alitalia interior on their A330-300s. And the A350 only has two classes
Wow! Glad I caught this, sounds like they are subpar
Hi dan i love your videos could you do another video flying el al business class not on the 787?
Hi Dan! I saw your Iberia video, and I was wondering if you could give it another try, because i think Iberia has changed a lot since the pandemic, especially with the new a350 NPS. Thanks, and Great video!😊
I just wanna say I love ur content man keep going 👍
"I'm here for the randomness..." 😂 Priceless 🤣🤣🤣🔥
I absolutely love watching you Dan! Hope you review the new Air India A350 as well, I've heard great things about them
Thank you so much 🙏
SOME OF THE BEST VIDS EVER
I Like The Livery And Cabin.Great Video And Info
Please review QANTAS ultra-long haul, Europe to Aus! ❤❤❤
Don't punish him like that 💀💀💀
@@Coolsomeone234Hello from Australia. If we fly to anywhere out of Oz, we are use to long haul flights.😂🦘
Interesting flight review.
Hey Dan! Huge fan from India, My friend and I always watch your videos, really excited to see you coming to India!!!! Your videos also have helped me plan my summer vacation as well thanks for that! keep up the work.
Dan, if your looking for the best European airline, within Europe short-haul, the clear winner is Aegean Airlines. New and modern cabin, inflight hot meal is included in every fare what else is there to look for 😊
Thanks for the info!
Thanks dude. I was gonna book this one for family vacay.
Will stick with AF for now. 😂
Really interesting to see Dan. Shame they let down that gorgeous cabin with such a poor soft product. Question for you: what kind of mic is that you're using in the Points Master segment? Sound is great.
Thanks man! I upgraded to a very cheap mic after using an expensive one for years lol. This is the Thronmax Mdrill.
@@NonstopDan Wow what a name, Thronmax! 😂 I'm gonna check it out!
My favourite livery is also Etihad. It's so beautiful, especially in the sunset 😍
i flew on an ITA a32o neo from Nice to rome and it was a class A experience, except that i missed my connecting flight and my baggage was lost for three days in rome. Even though it was a head spinning headache, it was a good experience to fly on the new flag carrier of italy. I hope to fly on them again someday
if you like those majority blue livery, might wanna fly Vietnam airlines from Delhi to Ho Chi Minh. great airline and service if you hit one of their A321neos
Those hot towels were killer, dude!
Hey, Dan i know you probably won't see it, but if you could you please do Austrian Business Class. Thanks
i flew an overnight from jfk to milan on ita economy. wasn't the most comfortable flight but the food was good.
I liked my ITA flight from October. Both of them, actually. Because of my visual disability, I got priority boarding both ways with very little issue, and the ravioli dish I got in premium economy was great. The chicken dish I got on the leg to Italy was a bit dry though. I guess they don't send their best to a flight to India.
Thanks for sharing, Dan. Quite a bit of a letdown from an airline that had some promise. Good to see the impressive hard product. The soft product however is just too much of a let down. Hope the folks at ITA are taking note.
‘I’d rather eat microwave rice from the dollar store’ 😂😂😂 This one got me.
DollarStore Air - make it happen! 😂
Yeah, the seat was gorgeous but was floored at rye state of the food. Maybe catering isn't so good coming from that airport, like international flights departing from the states? I wad shocked!
I can just hear your voice when reading the title - "I'm NOT Impressed" haha. Another good video!
🤣🙏
You deserve 1m subscribers soon!
Anyone else noticed that the vast majority of the ITA fleet is Irish registered (EI) and not Italian registered (I). Unusual for a flag carrier!
This is because their EI registered aircraft are leased. And many of the largest leasing companies have their Europe base in Ireland. For tax purposes etc. So many ITA aircraft can be on a short lease. And in some cases on a wet lease. This is the case as well with a new carrier or when a carrier has the history of Alitalia etc.
Italian cooking on business is to be expected.
Wonder if EASA & FAA would aprove a dominos dxp pizza oven on ITAs long haul fleet...
I flew this airline sometime and sometime they was great while sometime it was not up to standard and it was so bad…..Love this review though
Glad you had a good experience! Thank you so much for watching 🙏
Nonstop Dan new vid yay
love your vids ❤
Love how you said you couldn't find the Lounge at the airport because there were no signs anywhere- while walking past a massive sign hanging from the ceiling with an arrow and the words "Airline Lounge" written on it :D Seriously though, thanks for the video.
I know 😂
I only flew business once in my life, and it was with ITA Airways. For me the experience was amazing (compared to turist class), but also affordable, so can't really say I'm dissapointed or something.
Also, it was an older seat that this on the video!
LOL! Brutal!! You’ll be as popular as dysentery at ITA headquarters after they watch this!! Great stuff!
Hi Dan. I've been following you for years and have a question regarding the logistics of filming in aircraft during your travels. Do you need to obtain special permission to film onboard flights? If you have any insights or advice on this matter, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for taking the time to consider my query. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
You announced a european airlines series. Do you plan to do a video on the new A330neo Condor business class which is supposed to be way better then the current Lufthansa product?
I don't really understand what they're doing with the vego/special meal? Why the lack of sauce?
Exactly😂
Wow, what a bummer.
Best part of FCO is the large Eataly in the terminal!
I travelled ITA this year from London to Brazil in economy class of course, the staff is not as much warm but the food is good and the interior design makes me feel so calm because I’m normally terrified to fly .. The only reason I would go back it’s because of the food and it’s proper comfort even in economy besides I couldn’t stretch my legs a lot
Hey dan , your videos are never disappointing! Thank you for all your hard work. ❤
BTW i was just wondering, when is your etihad business class video coming?😊
He already has one
Thanks! Probably not for another month unfortunately 🙏
I have been watching for over a year now and you are honestly the BEST flight revue EVER. I really want you to do a flight review in singapore airlines economy seat from Adelaide airport to singapore
Thank you so much 🙏
Can't wait for the KLM video :)
ITA is my go to airline. Look at it as a budget airline and all us good
Will there be a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class video coming?
Yes!
Hey Dan! I started my path to collect points (avios) last year. I’m doing pretty well at earning the points. I had planned to do a business class return flight from London to Bangkok at some point. When I search on reward availability there are hardly any seats available a whole year ahead. Am I wasting my time collecting avios? I’m worried I’ll never be able to spend them due to there being hardly any reward availability. Cheers Dan! Love the videos and watch each one
Hey Adam, thanks for your support! 🙏 Often you do have to book quite far out which is a pain!
I’m curious to see if you’re flying the new KLM B777 cabin next week!
Nice vlog 😊
Please do a review of polish airline lot!! id love to see what you think about it
I am so I changed my flight from ITA and went to Rome on American
It was my first trip to Italy and the vegetables you showed are in their restaurants as well so over cooked to mush. I decided also while my one month adventure in Italy to use the train instead and canceled all of my flights on ITA.
ITA to American is like going from a flag carrier to a Low Cost. And in italy ITA remains better than trains (except on Milan-Rome)
Dan you NEED to try jet blue mint in their a321NEO!!
Hey Dan, I'm flying Eurowings economy from Dusseldorf this summer. But I dont know if I have acces to any lounges.
Do you know if I have acces to a lounge?
Eurowings from DUS ? Brings back memories of great flights to Dresden on ATR’s
You do not get acess
I like Air France livery the most. Clean and simple. But I reckon that ITA's blue is beautiful!
Are you going to post a vid of KLM 787 business class?
Or 777?
Stay tuned🤫
Maybe the newly refurbished 777
@@nico_pen yes, I think so!
I flew Alitalia about 10 years ago to Rome and the service was some of the worst I’ve ever encountered. They berated me about not putting my seat back in the upright position on landing when it was broken and when the flight attendant finally realized it was busted she didn’t even offer an apology, she just said “in Italy we have manners”. The fact that I still remember this interaction 10 years later says all you need to know about their hiring practices. Of course I’m flying ITA business class this summer again so we’ll see if it’s still terrible.
The seats looks lovely now, but give them a couple of years of use and they'll really start to show the dirt.
Hi Dan i live in Africa it is my dream to see if a big aviation youtuber like you can review one of our airlines I would highly suggest Air Tanzania (mainly bc I am from there) but yeah keep up the amazing content
Yeah FCO shops are awesome
🙌🏽
The soft product with ITA is exactly what you’d expect from a typical EU airline. It was so bad, I had to write to ITA. Hard product (J and PY) on the other hand is phenomenal!!
Anyways, welcome to my India 🇮🇳 ❤️. Have a lovely time in my home !
I love your videos
excited to see more ITA coverage!
oop i just watched the video and am now as depressed as you are dan 😭
Let’s just look at their a321neo... probably the best intra European economy and business class seats
half way through the video this is a master piece
Pizza without cheese in I taly? I don't think that's legal.
It’s totally legal…It’s called Marinara…….
Meanwhile I saw a pizza in Japan topped with an raw egg instead
There’s also pizza Bianca (white pizza) only seasoned crust with awesome seasonings
I flew ITA Airways business class a couple of weeks ago for work. It was the smaller A220 as I was going to and from London City airport.
It was basically economy with hot food and they didn't sell the middle seat for the first 4 rows. Same seat, same leg room, no alcohol.
"I'd expect this on Üzbegistan Airways"
Bro spitting fire...
Like most European airlines. I was underwhelmed last week flying business with ITA. The prices weren’t bad I guess there’s that.
Underwhelmed… what a nice word.
Did the price reflect on this atmosphere and service
Hey Dan! I love the content, but why pay 700 bucks when you can do all points (maybe even with a transfer bonus)?? Was 700 all taxes and fees?? Would make sense given virgins massive fees to Heathrow in business class (cheap redemption included haha)
Hmmm... I wouldn't call the A330-900neo the "flagship" of an airline that also has the A350-900. Now, when I saw that glass of orange juice in the first scenes I already cringed. It was... orange-colored. Anyone who has been to Italy knows that their orange juice, or at least the best (which would be expected in business class), is usually blood-red because it's pressed from oranges grown in Sicily, where both the variety grown there and the volcanic soil chemistry give that color to the fruit and its pulp. In an Italian airline, that's definitely a bad sign.
This airline just popped up as the least expensive option on several group trips to Rome. Crazy cheap
Don’t, please do not book it. Even if it is cheap. I made that mistake and ended up in ER on a drain with food poisoning, suitcases damaged beyond repair and ticket vanished from the system.
Alitalia already had some of the worst service and food imaginable, and it was often quite dirty - the amenities kit and drinks in business were one of the best, though. They seem to have improved in the sections where they had to take advice, like seating.
Seems like a wing light instead of landing light😊
Someone else that orders pizza sans cheese!! I am not the only crazy one - if done well, it is better then people think. 😂
it's an actual pizza in Italy. It's called "Marinara".
The pasta on my flight on Delta from PDX-AMS in econ seemed better
Spaghetti at a Philippino Jollibee is better - and that is a very harsh comment😅
