If you lightly file around your free edge, then cap it with gel top, it helps prevent the chrome chipping.

Hi! I use apre gelx. I do my nail art, then put clear builder gel on top. It strengthens the nails so they don't break, then top coat. I love what you did in this video, but would love to see you use the other chrome powder colors.

I wanna keep playing with these products for sure! I’m like soooo ignorant though 😅. Like I really wasn’t trying to buy any gel at all and now I need it all 😂.
I think imma focus on stamping for my next several videos. I just thought this would be a fun deviation 😊. So I’ll keep it in mind to use some powders with regular polish bc I love the effect and you absolutely can get good results with regular polish.

Thanks for sharing! After watching your video on this and the Magician gel, which I have, I bought this one. I'm super curious to see if the ingredients are listed on the box because the formula is so unusual. It seems it's air dry. Of course, if you mix it with a gel, you have to cure it, but I'm still fascinated by it and looking forward to playing around with it.

Ah darn that’s a good point, I should have shown the ingredients. Next time I’ll remember. Idk what any of that stuff is anyway 😅.

It's advertised as air dry and I have used it without curing but if you read the back of the bottle it says cure for 60sec.. I messaged born pretty on Instagram but I don't know if I'll get an answer

@@jenpierce2385 I saw the ingredients on another creator's video, and I didn't see anything in there that would indicate needing to cure it.

Love the self low 5. Makes me laugh. So you don’t have to cure the stamping oil before adding the chrome? Also, you inspired me to grab some colorful eyeshadows from my dollar store and will be checking those out soon. Thanks for the videos.

Ok so…I actually thought that I should cure it like 3 seconds, so I was doing that and it worked great! Then I forgot to cure it one time and it wasn’t different at all. Decided to cave and read the actual instructions on the BP website and they say to air dry for a few moments. So it does not require uv curing! 😮.
My understanding is that the magician gel does tho…I haven’t looked it up yet 😅

@@zenstampingmy goodness right they advised it as air dry but if you read the back of the bottle it says cure for 60sec and I have not been curing at all 😬

@@jenpierce2385 ok so I’ll be honest lol. I was curing it for literally 3-4 seconds which seemed to work perfectly. But then I forgot to cure one and it still worked. So I went to look at their site (the horror 😆) and it said air dry so I just edited the curing part out 😅. It doesn’t seem to matter either way 🤷‍♀️. I will note that if you do cure it, you can still wipe it off with alcohol or acetone and start over if you mess up.

Interesting! I don’t quite get how the oil doesn’t spread when you un the powder on, but cool!

It’s pretty thick to call it oil. Not really sure why they call it that other than it must be oil based? Anyway it’s cool!! Much prefer it over the magician gel

Those are not GelX tips, GelX tips are a specific item manufactured by Apres and are by far superior to the off brands of soft gel tips including Maniology soft gel tips

My mistake! I was referring to the gel but I didn’t realize gelx meant just the tips. What is it called? 🤔
