This is exactly how I'll make my sifter for the Privy Digs I'm planning. Just going to make it a little larger. Awesome job! Thanks for posting the video!
I agree, I was planning on throwing some yellow acrylic on the rails like you suggested, need to grab some from the store before I do a full outdoor run of the screen. Thx for the comments.
So the Hopper needs a pre-screen to filter anything that the maine shaft can't handle. Also, the hopper should in of itself be a screen where all the powder falls through it first.
This is amazing! I’ve read the thread several times and watched your videos of it in operation many times and have a few questions as I’m getting ready to build one very similar, although surely not as nice as I’m a newby. What did you use for the drum? It looks so good and in the before paint pictures it seems like you had to weld a couple pieces together or it was part of something else that you scrapped off of something else. Currently my plan is to either us various sizes of hardware cloth (I’m not liking that idea all that much) or to drill holes in some 2 3/8” pipe that I have (also not loving that idea either). Also, how long is the drum? I saw the overall height was 24” and the length was 30” but didn’t see the drum length. Thanks. I’m sure you probably don’t check these messages anymore but just thought I’d try to reach you anyway. Love this build!
Jared Robinson thanks for the comment. The drum is 3D printed. So is the gear for the drive belt. It works great. If you’d be interested in one let me know. Clutchform@yahoo.com
@@rides800 hello, I was reading the comments, because I seen your trommel and would like to make/purchase one like it and wondered if you be able to do that? Or sell them? Please lmk thank you
Very beautiful, structurally thought-out, perfectly harmonized sound with the work of the sifter, in one word, a revelation.
Great work
works perfect...and its Beautiful!
LOVE the sounds!
The best one I have ever seen thanks. I have a 1/12 scale RR on our acreage and may build one for ballast for the track.
Thank you. That’s a great idea!

That thing is beautiful! How did you determine motor sizing and what controls the speed of the motor?
