Sorry my explaination is too long 😅 Actually Indonesian's content creator involved in this video presents a video at the end of every year so that the Indonesian people can review the events in our country that year and reflect on previous year and what good thing to do in the following year. But it turns out that since 2020 the Rewind Indonesia video has been trending overseas. This video contains many metaphors which represent many things, whether it be about music that was popular in Indonesia that year, films, tragedies or issues in society which were conveyed to the government in a creative way. In short, 2021 is a difficult time for Indonesia where many young children have been left behind by their parents because they have become victims of the Covid19 pandemic. There were also a lot of layoffs because the economy almost stopped due to activity restrictions at that time. The mother in this video physically symbolizes the wishes of many parents in Indonesia who view the current generation as using social media as a useless and useless thing, while many of the current generation are successful in the digital world. Regarding the scene about the mother who is struggling with her illness, it represents several interpretations according to the interview with the creator, during the pandemic, Indonesia poured out large funds for its citizens who were having difficulties/lost their jobs, also the citizens who were the largest in number in Asia at that time had to pay their share digging into their own pockets because the government hospitals are all full and of course it costs a lot of money. There are also a lot of allegations of corruption from many parties because the situation is such an emergency that the government has difficulty controlling the distribution of aid funds whether they reach every citizen or not, which also means that health is expensive, symbolized by gold bar and even if there are plenty of cost and if it's time to die, even money can't buy it. And the final, meaning for many people who don't believe in vaccines is that at first it was explained that the virus that attacks is not immune to the antibodies that have not been vaccinated so the mother ends up dying from the ferocity of the Covid virus. Then the death of the mother is indeed physically gone, but at the end of this video it represents that the motherland of Indonesia go continues to guide the citizen whose their parents have perish because of the pandemic, they must remain strong and enthusiastic about living life because Indonesia is still able to overcome every difficulty, even though the major outbreak of Covid for almost 3 years has hit hard almost all walks of life, even Indonesia, which is a country that plays a big role in the tourism business, has had to decline, for example, from 7M foreign tourist visits to Bali in the year before the pandemic to 0 during the pandemic. Just to remind anyone that the tourism industry must be balanced with other industrial sectors that are more resilient if a situation (pandemic) like this occurs again.

Thanx for the reaction. For me personally as Indonesian also guessing what is the exact meaning of that video. As an art, It let so many interpretation. Generally it's like throwback time along 2021 what was happened in Indonesia. As a opening is interaction between the old and the young generation. The old generation demand the young generation to study hard for better living and don't waste the time. Yet the young generation try to act smart not hard to achieve succes. Once the young generation try to looking outside , he found that so many thing happened. It show by the music, movie and celebrity in Indonesia (especially youtuber) who is popular at 2021. And also deep talk about so many issues. Covid has big role here because we try to fight against it. Unfortunatelly still some people try to get the gold in this crisis. FYI our Ministry of social welfare caught in corruption. At the end, the old generation will disapear and the young generation should take over the responsibility of the nation.
