My interests are in photos, shipping. I am a volunteer running a mission to seafarers when they come in on a boat from the docks, they have an area where they can come and relax have refreshments, watch television,, read some papers and use the computer. This is a good video...
sorry i try to find old cargo ship pictures in youtube with 009 soundsystem playing in background i used to watch in youtube when i was a kid if anyone have these videos then pls give link :)
I completed my diploma in port Operations in vizag port terminal...... so do I have any opportunities in this sector... and also I have taken training for 6months in vizag terminal.
Is it my impression or the tug that was in the stern position starboard gave some problem ?? because it seemed to me that it was underneath the thin one and soon after it was replaced by the other tugboat, but somebody noticed?
I like the video, but the video experience becomes much nicer and smoother for the ears when a 'dead cat' is used to fend off these inevitable winds. The features of the camera (mic-in) are determining the width of opportunities of course. What a humongous container ship!
containerman2 No idea on Barzan yet - sizewise, around the same 400 metres, but the original order was for 18,000 TEU - but it can be uprated, essentially be agreeing slot capacity increase with the builder/designer and class society.
@@ShippingTV No- What? MSC Gülsün is 23,000 TEU also? >>Gülsün is the first boxship in the world to feature 24 rows across giving it up to 1,500 extra container capacity compared to the existing largest container vessels.
@@szaki Existing largest container ships are the OOCL ships, with 21,413 TEU capacity - the 1,500 extra TEU take this ship and her to-be-delivered sisters up to 23,000. That's big!
carl deniega Just 1 metre longer! but it carries more containers, which is why it is claimed as the "largest". Globe carries 19,100 TEU, against the Triple E class carrying 19,270 TEU.
I would like to look the complete deliver loaded to the hilt, this time, with goods, branded: 'made in gb', depart the port, destined for china...However, i fear, i am going to be disillusioned.
Yup - superhero team! No, really they're just pulling one the ship's mooring ropes up so they can secure it to the mooring bollard on the quay. The ship's crew throw down a heaving line, a light rope, which is attached to the main rope. The mooring crew pull that onto the quay.
seeing is believing. When you can see it for yourself in person it is very big. Even Maserk container ships are huge next to my 30 foot sail boat in San Pedro. cheers
I'm guessing that the next design will move the bridge/accommodation block forward by about 3 container bays to maintain visibility while still increasing the maximum number of containers to be carried above deck. They will probably also broaden the hull line at the bow around about where the first full 40' green China Shipping containers are. This will increase the number of containers carried below deck. The stern may also be given a sharper up sweep to gain more space.
The problem is that a huge proportion of everything - yes, EVERYTHING - we buy in stores comes from the east, or far east. Consumer electronics, clothes, furniture, you name it. In the UK, 90% of what we buy gets here in or on a ship!
+Andrew Gilbey And how much is heading towards Currys, PC World, furniture stores, and food stores! One product that often travels aboard vessels like this is frozen foodstuffs - like the Scottish-caught salmon that goes in frozen blocks, gets smoked, sliced and packed there, the comes back as finest Scottish Salmon!
Shipping TV mad isn't it - in NZ we send logs to china who send it back as MDF furniture. A chap around the corner from me who was making furniture out of wood recently went out of business. You have got to be kidding me about salmon!!!
+Andrew Gilbey It is true, but currently much of this processing is done in Poland and other Eastern European countries - cheaper to put product in a box, move there, process it and bring it back rather than simply process it here.
Axel Zamarripa It doesn't, Axel - it has a maximum possible capacity of 19,000 TEU. MSC Oscar (also on this site) has a max capacity of 19,224. Ships with 20,000 TU capacity will be along in a year or two!
TEU means "twenty foot equivalents" - boxes come in 2 lengths, 20ft and 40 ft, so saying X thousand containers doesn't work. But a 20ft box is 1 TEU, a 40ft box is 2 TEU, so you can describe a ship's capacity in TEU of any mix of 20ft and 40ft boxes, and have an exact idea of the number they can stow.

I think there was a problem with the towing winch - no details were ever mentioned, especially as it was in front of the world's press!
Well done to you all out there and all the management out there OK.
i saw that vessel in hongkong last month of july 2017 while we were there in HIT

Totally huge wow just amazing to see great job on this video too thank you

Looks like the ship from "2012"
Just curious but is this one bigger than the Maersk Triple E?
AlphaEckoNiner9ner Carries more boxes - 19,000 vs Triple E's 18,270. Triple 's Dw and GT are both greater than Globe's, but Globe is just 67cm longer!
Seriousleisure1 Clever space management.

How much can it carry?
we passed the boat around the port Wahran makes a big impression
my country , The bigest of container vessel have been call Thailand ,Laem Chabang is ZIM Djibouti ( 13000 TEU ) only
So will COSCO keep the name of these ships?
I imagine so - but I wouldn't think that making changes would be on their priorities, anyway.

sir can i ask question? is this ship much bigger than the tripple e class maersk?

How many containers it can ship in one trip? 🤔

19,000 TEU means 19,000 twenty foot containers. The vast majority of containers carried, though, are 40 foot (2 TEU)
