There's conflicting info but the official schedule says 6k like you mentioned. www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com/BMW-F-750-GS-F-850-GS/Maintenance-interval-service/ and. maintenanceschedule.com/bmw-f-750-gs-maintenance-schedule/#bmw-f-750-gs-service-intervals both say 12k, but when in doubt I'd go with the BMW recommendation.
I only have about 6k miles on this bike so I haven't done that service yet. I did it on my s1000rr a while back and it was kind of involved but not too bad if you take your time. It was a weekend job on the s1000rr, I'm sure I'll do a video on it when I hit the 12k milestone.

I fitted a unifilter air filter a few days ago as I ride gravel roads. I also fitted unifilter pre filters, which add a little extra protection.

No problems with it running too lean, I have the air filter and also the slip on exhaust.
