- King Charles reflected on the recent violent disorder across the country, as reported by Buckingham Palace.
He praised the "community spirit" that countered the "aggression and criminality" seen during the riots.
The King held a phone call with the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, and senior police chiefs.
He expressed his "heartfelt thanks" to the police and emergency services for restoring peace.
King Charles called for unity, hoping "shared values" will help strengthen and unite the nation.

He is a hypocrite because he throws stones at his own castle while wearing a coronet and expects poor people to resonate with his princely woes. He still uses his titles and rank for his own benefit rather than renouncing or ceasing to use something that supposedly is not in line with his ideologies and values. That is what happened to him along with his oppotunistic, dishonest wife who caused him to become estranged from his family in the same way she is estranged from almost all of hers. Two entirely different issues, and if people needed Henry to explain The Establishment, which he really didn't and in fact still said he believed in the monarchy, that is odd. For those who are oblivious, Diana spoke about it WHEN HER MARRIAGE BROKE DOWN and she was ON HER WAY OUT (notice the comparison) decades before her son did. But she would still support it today because her eldest will reign and so would Henry if he was the heir apparent which is obviously one of his complaints as SPARE, as if most of the RF are not and were not spares too including many monarchs.
Our constitution doesn't work that way. The King does rule - through his Ministers, he appoints them including the Prime Minister from whatever party wins at the ballot box. The sad truth is that under our voting system, Labour got the most votes and get to run the country. More people should have got off their backsides and voted for something else.

She stayed as monarch for as long as she did, because she promised on her 21st birthday, whether her reign be long or short to serve. Queen Elizabeth didn't do it out of spite, because she didn't want Charles as her successor. She like all previous monarchs didn't have any say in the matter. His Majesty as the apolitical Head of State needs to refrain from making any comments on this at this time. A lot people are not 'far right' or rioting but are very worried about the negative impacts socially and culturally of uncontrolled mass immigration and the abuse of the asylum system. They want the numbers brought down to the levels we used to have and to preserve the Kingdom for their children. Until this is settled, the King should not get too involved in a political issue.

What the King said is absolutely in keeping with the Crown's duty to foster national unity and reconciliation, uphold the rule of law, and guarantee the continuity and stability of parliamentary democracy. The King's message of tolerance and pluralism is an overwhelmingly positive, nonpartisan, and resolutely British one which he has espoused for several decades. I find it quite disappointing a fair number of people in this comments section disagree with His Majesty's sentiment. By the way, the late Queen held the same views.

They come in many colours and ethnicities. It is always those who try to imply racism who are the racists. The Monarch is by law required to be Protestant and by his position as the Supreme Governor of the national Church of England is meant to defend Christianity. Speaking of the Bible, all religions, in this case Christianity, profess to be the one true religion; therefore, to defend other religions is to undermine your own's doctrine and renders your claim to it and his position as Head of The Church meaningless because it means that he doesn't believe that Christianity is the one true faith, so how can he be head of a Christian Church? This is the reason why his title was not changed from "defender of THE faith". It does not make sense. And yes, we know that was originally the Catholic faith, but it is still the Christian faith nonetheless. It's either he kept that title or did away with it entirely because anything else would be sacreligious. The Uk is a nation with a long Christian history and Christian Kings and Queens. Why should that be thrown to the wind to please newcomers who come from nations with their own cherished histories? Try telling that to any of their nations and see what kind of response you get.
