Great video. Thanks for sharing. The NTNDO1 arrival into HND and VGT is one of the few RNAV arrivals that doesn’t have speed restrictions, most do. And exactly those speed restrictions and the requirement to report that you’re unable to meet them are an issue with the Mustang because of it’s 250 kts MOA. That’s explained in one of the coming videos (flight up and down the NorCal bay area?), otherwise you might wanna have had it explained on this one.
Very educational for me, I am just GA pilot but learning to fly the Cockspur Mustang 510 in the flight Simulator MSFS2020, Keep rewatching your videos and it sure helps me tackle the C510. Thank you.
Rich i appreciate the way you fly man. a bunch of guys can’t explain things without over-complicating the hell out of it or stay calm and laid back like you in the cockpit, great example of great piloting, you make it look easy and that’s because it should be!
I found your channel by searching for the Mustang. While I have a Commercial Instrument SEL, all the I flying that I do now is Flight Sims on my computer and the Flight1 Mustang has been my favorite for many years. It does not have working VNAV. I'll have to try this flight on it. I got the cheaper basic version of Foreflight to use while sim flying. No Geo position on approach charts with the cheapest version. You have some great videos and I appreciate you sharing them. Please keep them coming. Thanks.
Another great video! Please keep doing video explaining the nuances of G1000 function and programming. Very helpful for those of us trying to get our instrument ticket.
Really enjoyed this one Rich, thanks! Been near KDWH last 10 days helping my daughter get house ready for sale, enjoyed breakfast at Aviator's Grill this morning.
I'm just a flight simmer but I'm trying to learn the CJ4 citation. I've learned a lot of IFR for my purpose but learning the departures Stars SIDS Etc was really helpful. that was a very quick flight on that citation Mustang from Long Beach to Henderson. you must have a lot of hours because you fly so many different aircraft and you look very very competent in fact ahead of the game. I hope you do more of these but I'm going to check your old videos and see if you've done some more. thank you
Great video Rich. As always, I learn a ton. I don't get to fly as many arrivals as I would like in the Meridian, but frequently we are given departures. Thanks again.
Great video. enjoy all the different airplanes you fly however I really appreciate these more technical flights showing different IFR flight phases etc. More please....
I like seeing someone fly SIDS and STARS on the newer glass avionics. There's quite a bit of flexibility compared to the old VHF equipment. Enjoyable content as always!
This video is old so my comment might have been addressed later on. When give the instruction 'climb and maintaining (17,000)' you were absolved of the requirement to hit the altitude restrictions on the RNAV departure up to and including the assigned altitude (so 15,000 or above and 16000 or above were of no interest at that point). This is opposed to the earlier clearance having been 'maintain 11,000' in which case you are cleared to climb to that altitude but must comply with all restrictions up to and including.
Is it changing from FLC (or FLCH) to pitch mode because its in capture mode while you change the Altitude setting. At least that's what I remember from the more basic GA aircrafts. Boeing or Airbus wouldn't do that, and IF it would, an Airbus gives you the so called 'triple Click' to warn you of an uncommanded mode change. As always, cool video.

Try the RW Design Mustang in x-plane. It sure has its cons but you’ll still be impressed.
Thanks for sharing this. Now I have a clue how to start trying departure procedures in my sim. Learn a lot here.
Glad it helps and thanks for watching!

Great flight....

Can’t wait till I’m flying a jet Rich, you keep making me jealous here 😩
Thanks for watching!
Another great video. 👊🏻
Thank you!
Great fix!!!
It is!
Nice Rich! You should get the same glasses I have (with for short and long vision).
I hate glasses - I only need them up close. What kind are your’s?
@@FlyingwithRich dual focal progressive (also with clear/dark transition).
Great video !!

That’s exactly right. A new altitude selected while the AP is capturing will result in Pitch Mode. Thanks for watching.
Great vid thanks
Good content even for us Mooney Drivers
I love Mooney’s. Can’t wait to preview on! Are you in SoCal?
Camera man needs to get a all axis gimbal for stability.
Excellent perspective on what's going to be required for moving up in aviation size.
Thanks for watching!
Hi Rich, love your channel… what is your power setting when you set “climb power”?… thx… Joey
We set the power levers to the CLIMB detent and then the FADEC (computers) set the power based on conditions (temp, altitude) for the climb.
Commenting "for the algorithm."
👍
nice :))
Thanks!
When is the earliest you use FLC mode if I may ask?
After take off checklist. Thanks for watching.

No non-Pilot can follow you. For instance who out there knows, that “filch” means an autopilot level change mode (“flight level change”)?
Sounds like you do now! I’ll try to define more of that in future! Thanks for the message.
Geez... is there anything you can't fly? How bout a super hornet... how in the world did you get certified in so many diff planes?
Thanks - been flying for a while!
I would say Rich has a lot of ambition and want too.
Rich u r really rich
