      that's right, your NAS can act as a SAN when you create a LUN.

    what NAS device would you recommend for an email storage server, has about 6K users, we'll have a few dell servers up front for imap, pop, smtp etc, behind a bigIP LB, the boss doesnt trust flash and I dont trust sata ( too slow), besides, its email witha gazillion read writes on small files (maildir) all day long, my newbie offsider said synology - we all laughed, that can happen the day i retire :) until such time, we'll leave the novelty NAS's for the home, or general backups, I was looking at a few, but curious as to what you'd use in that type of use case?

    what do you mean by thumb drive don't work on a mac - yes they do!

      If you use across windows and Mac then it would no work (sometimes according to their pendrive format)
