Excellent trade! Relax , believe in Adams plan ! Byram was a top 4 pick ! You will be eating your words my friend ! Byram was buried in Colorado , he will be shine in Buffalo! He can play the left or right side and is comfortable doing this . Put him with Power asap on the right side to see if it works. If it doesnt then go out and find Power a stay at home D man like UFA Brett Pesce Carolina and say good bye to Bryson & Jokiharju this summer.
Middelstadt was weak on the puck and on faceoffs. Not too mention a turnover machine! Sign a veteran 4th line centre this summer like Trenin Nashville, Roslovic CBJ or Kevin Stenlund FLA this summer as the Sabres have been WEAK on faceoffs for years ! Put Greenway on the 4th line with Robinson or Rousek and keep Krebs as your 3rd line centre. With Casey gone and Okposso Jost, Olofsson and Girgenson not resigning theres a spot in the top 9 for a prospect like Kulich , Savoie or Rosen in October.
Sooo should we do the Yzerman plan and bring in UFAs and turnover more than half the roster and bury all of prospects in the AHL ?. Sorry not interested in doing that .
Love and understand your Rant ( im 59 , been a Sabres fan since day1 ) but trust the process ! All this being said I do think Adams will bring in a new head coach and staff this summer who will demand a more physical forecheck and to be tougher in front of both nets
    Thanks for the video .

Once again WHO CARES WHERE HE WAS DRAFTED that literally means NOTHING. Also he wasn't buried he played nearly 20min a game in Colorado. Not only that saying Mittlestadt was weak on the puck is literally insane he was a monster along the boards likely their best actual player especially in the offensivw zone and outside of Tage Thompson had the best hands on the team. We can only HOPE Krebs reaches/surpasses how go Mittlestadt was. Last night not a ringing endorsement by the coach as he played him less than 11min ans he was a -1 w/ just 1 shot. Also yes Detriot is in a playoff spot Buffalo isn't. At this point just get me to the playoffs. Longest active streak in pro sports and longest streak in NHL history by FOUR years. I hope Byram is AMAZING and can actually play a full season he will need to to make the trade worth it.

Some good points, but some push-back here as well. Casey was hardly "WEAK on the puck". I was very sour on him and I turned out wrong. He developed nicely (somewhat slower than I would like), but he made me look bad over the last 2 seasons. This season he was tenacious in both zones. He was usually around the puck and created MANY turnovers. Krebs MAY take a step forward assuming he gets more ice time now. He has that potential imho. We have 19 games left to see how the staff manage this damn mess. Interesting to see how the team responds down the stretch as well. If they pack their bags for the golf course or they put the throttle down and meet the challenge! We shall see. Oh... I miss Quinn and so does this team!

@@sportstalkbuffalo3775 in my defence i when said Casey was weak on the puck those were words from a former NHL scout who now works for Sportsnet here in Southern Ontario. Also trust me nobody is more pissed that they lost to the leafs last night. I grew up in Toronto and now live 45 min east of the sewage pit . I hate losing to them.
About krebs being 3rd line centre next year, what do i know , i guess barring a trade before tomorrows deadline Krebs is 3rd line centre for the rest of the year but who knows what Adams will do this off season , maybe he wont resign him and go get 2 veteran centres as 3rd & 4th lines.
Sounds like Casey was one of your fav players, been there done that , and guess what it worked out! Before you were even born Scotty Bowman traded my two of my fav Sabres in Danny Gare & Jim Schoenfeld to Detroit. Mike Foligno made me forget about the aging Gare pretty quickly. Speaking of the Folignos , the Sabres though have never recovered when they traded Mike's son Marcus Foligno as i believe you even said a few weeks ago that Marcus is the type of forward the Sabres need now .

@neilkennington2397 I loved that you called Toronto a sewage pit lol also Casey was one of my favorite because I have been banging the table about how good he could be for years after watching him live at world juniors I thought the Sabres completely mishandled him and almost ruined his career and now that he is reaching said potential they traded him SMH. that's why I was upset. If Tage and Cozens looked even remotely good this season I wouldn't have minded as much

@@sportstalkbuffalo3775 quick story about the sewage pit you probably already know this, but for me being 45 min east of Toronto its cheaper for me to drive to buffalo , 2.5 hour drive and buy 2 level 100 seats against say a top level team like Boston ( i wouldnt go see the leafs as the lineup back into Canada after the game is brutal ) go for dinner at say the Southern Tier Brewery then it easy to buy tickets at the Mauselouem aka Scotiabank arena and watch the laffs and Sabres! . That arena is also the WORST as the corridors are soooo narrow. Last night I couldve paid $360 for 2 level 300 seats! No thanks .Those prices are up from last March as i paid $260 to see Buffalo and the leafs . And these prices are buying from season ticket holders who ive known since High school.. Love you're videos keep up the good work.

Finally a Sabres fan who is actually being realistic about this situation! So sick of potential as well! You spoke exactly how I felt! We needed a defensive defenseman and we do the opposite!!!! So sick of this!!!!! We had so much leverage and we once again f*** it up!!! We will never change until the entire upper staff changes. I could care less about prospects and etc. Our developmental staff is f***** garbage!!!! That's why all the hype we have for these prospects does s*** was Chris Drury or Briere a prospect? Nope!!!!!! Pure leaders that actually wanted to change the culture and it did. It's also why Miller kept getting more and more upset with the direction of this team!

@@sportstalkbuffalo3775 on top of that I keep reading people saying oh trust the Adam's process over yzerman.... HAS BUFFALO BECOME THAT F**** DUMB?????? It took the wings half the time to become a legit team again. They have a system that can actually develop the talent, we don't! They have leadership from yzerman! That's exactly why Patrick Kane went there and not Buffalo, but hey trust the Adam's plan!!!! Next year will be no different until the entire game board meaning ownership and everyone is gone. Every team that is successful has strong leadership from management and down. We don't! That's exactly why nothing changes! I will not be surprised if in two years Dahlin request a trade and wouldn't even be surprised if he went to Detroit. That's all the wings are missing is a #1 offensive defenseman. Yzerman will find a way to fleece Detroit. Just like UPL will pull an Ullmark and leave this sinking mess of an organization. Its such a shame, because Sabres fans deserve so much better. I always speak of the glory days of the city coming together to unite under one team. It didn't matter If you were homeless and etc. Everyone United under the Sabres. I miss that so much!!!!! All of us want is a competitive team. People talk about the Bills, but my best memories are the Buffalo Sabres. Those days were absolutely magical. Even when the plane came crashing down and the Sabres played San Jose who at the time were the best team in the NHL. That entire night at HSBC arena was magical! There has only been two times I've seen the magic since then and that is RJ night and Miller night and it was an honor to be there. If the team in front and the entire organization would just realize and look around this city and just buffalo fans In general. That would get me so hyped to come play for this team. Instead it's a team that is a complete mess and we have nobody to thank but the Pegula's and the direction they have led this team. It's so f***** embarrassing!!!!!!

Hey man! Love the channel but I think we need to let this trade play out before we panic. Byram is a great player who will be paired with Dahlin and allow Dahlin and Power to flourish. Give it a season or two before we write it off as a loss. I think you’ll find that the gap Casey filled will be nicely replaced by a prospect like Kulich or Savoie.

    • @sportstalkbuffalo3775

Kulich has taken a major step backwards this season in the AHL, and savoie is likely multiple seasons away from being good in the NHL. I am tired of waiting I want results. 13 seasons is embarrassingly bad and more seasons out of the playoffs then from 1970 to 2011 which was only 11 altogether.

Casey was not the best centre all season long. 3 pts in February? Obviously one of the left D will play right side, and it likely will be Byram or Dahlin (until Samuelsson's back next season). Supposedly that's gonna be a pair against Nashville. Btw, that 'ghost all season' Cozens had 27 pts since December... the exact number of pts Mitts had since December. Another problem with getting a "win now" player is that most playoff teams are looking for these guys and are actually willing to trade picks and prospects.
Another point is that almost every older player has buffalo on their no trade list, so that will limit the players they can actually trade for.

I do think this trade could be win/win for both sides. We solved the GAPING 2C hole we have had since Kadri left & just significantly increased our odds at another Cup-but in 2 or 3 yrs-I think Byrum will be the best player in the deal,& I'm fine with that-as much as I'll miss Bo. His first 2 games offensively he has been impressive looks like he has a great shot good offensive instincts however money will also be an issue with him as well. Dahlin next season makes 11 Power makes 8 Samuelsson makes 4.25 and if Byram continues to play well they are looking at the 8M(maybe more) range likely l. This means your "Top 4" would be roughly 36% of your salary cap. Also it's not like the Sabres needed a TON of help defensively they ranked 13th in goal against in the NHL(at the time of the video) however offensively they were 23rd. Just not really sure what the plan is in Buffalo at this point.

Also, Byram has played with Krebs at 9 years old, Cozens teammate in midget and during team Canadas and teammates with Levi as well. They all dreamed of playing together in the NHL. Kulich isn't ready for the NHL Savoie is a COMPLETE unknown as sure he is tearing up juniors but hasn't played against grown men yet. Ostland only 19 and also only has 21pts in 36 games in the SHL.
